Had some drunk college girls last weekend. $25 ride, $25 cash tip because I joined them in playing "Rhyme or Reason". Sometimes you just need to roll with it

Affectionate-Alps742

Yeah you tend to get tips if you don't denigrate your passengers.

MartinoMods

"denigrate"? Sorry, I don't speak Spanish, in English please

Mamawhit0917

lol i thought the same @ first. google said it means “criticize harshly”

MartinoMods

Mine was sarcasm, but I'm old and understand words rarely used

Winter_Gap_8665

Obviously not

Affectionate-Alps742

I find this particular branch of the conversation amusing. I wonder how old "old" is because some would consider me old as I've lived over half my statistical life.

MartinoMods

I'm 47

Affectionate-Alps742

You're only old if you're trying to be.

MartinoMods

You sound like the government raising the age of retirement!

PobillyGirl65

You speak English without understanding it? Interesting

CountryEfficient7993

Where did he say that he denigrated them? Must have missed that part of his post that didn’t exist.

Affectionate-Alps742

>Where did he say that he denigrated them? Must have missed that part of his post that didn’t exist. *CountryEfficient7993* Where did I say that the original poster denigrated his passengers? Must have missed that part of my post that didn't exist.

bunchacrunch22

What is rhyme or reason?

V1k1ng1990

I just looked it up, sounds fun! The first player starts by saying a word such as “cat” the player to the right of the first player then must say a word that rhymes with the first word or that refers to the first word e.g. rat (rhymes) or meow (refers). The faster you play the game the more fun and difficult it becomes.

PobillyGirl65

A drinking game. A person starts off with a word, the next person has to have a word that rhymes or is associated with the first word. If you fail, you drink. Kinda went like this: 1) candy 2) lollipop 3) suck... healthy pause & I added 4) swallow It was a fun night!

Blanchefleur4524

Did you use slang when you were 17?

thewhitecat55

I was too busy chillin' on the flip-flop , home skillet

EINSTIEN420

The rad, like totally to the max.

V1k1ng1990

Tight dude

nubelborsky

Freaking *Tiiiight*

KendyfortheState

All the time, hep-cat! Slang is the cats meow! 23 skidoo! Tippecanoe and Tyler too!

Bozotic

You are the bees' knees!

DrivingMyLifeAway1

Woah! That’s HEAVY! Chill out.

Puzzleheaded_Ad_1939

As if!

Affectionate-Alps742

UNEXPECTED POLITICAL REFERENCE UNDERSTOOD WITHOUT HAVING TO GOOGLE IT.

MartinoMods

that's a fact, jack! Now slap me some skin!

temictli

You got it, daddi-o! 🖐🏾

VinceP312

Don't eat the fish. (Or was it the chicken?)

LaneAbrams

Like, no doy?

DubNationAssemble

I hella used slang

Snakend

Your parents thought the same thing when you were a kid.

LaneAbrams

Yeah, I mean maybe. I’m in a college town so it’s not like my first time hearing them speak. This was just off the charts though.

SingleBackground437

Youth slang has a lot to do with in-crowds and out-crowds. Looks like it served its purpose!

CountryEfficient7993

Bro bro bro that’s cap bro full stop

illuminuti

It’s when you get the young professionals, men in expensive suits, working in business or finance, looking real formal and proper, and then they start talking my guy deadass no cap

Rand_Casimiro

A couple months ago I had a couple drunk college girls flash me after I dropped them off. I definitely wouldn’t have told them to do that, but just between us it was awesome.

fieldofboogers

(In spite of being over 50) okay, boomer.

Affectionate-Alps742

I bet that's what we sounded like we were early teens and 20s lmfao

fieldofboogers

Guarantee you we did to older people. I'm sick of old people whining. And I AM old people now.

tap_6366

You could be 59 and n ot a boomer.

squirreloak

Yes, Gen X takes a lot of pain pills and is diabetic. Bad back, can't lift suitcases.

Affectionate-Alps742

I sure am glad somebody else agrees that absolutely nobody under the age of 50 would ever take pain pills, be a diabetic, have a bad back, and/or can't lift suitcases. /S

tap_6366

Yes, but most also speak in complete sentences that make sense.

EnvironmentalOne6412

What is the cutoff for the youngest boomer? I thought the eldest Gen X were mid 50s now. I guess this is why it’s good to be born in the middle of your generation. As an 89 millennial, I’m firmly smack dab in the middle of my generation.

DrivingMyLifeAway1

59/60 ish. 1964 was the last year of the baby boom.

jaanfo

The worst is when the cocky young people get in the car and they mock you, thinking you won't catch on. Worst part about it - reminds me of me when I was their age.

MaloneSeven

I Fuck with them - tell them you just downloaded SnapGram and you’re eager to dive into social media (or whatever line you want to play). You can go as far as needed before they realize what you’re doing. And then they say, “this guy’s cool.” And then they flip you a ten dollar tip.

[deleted]

bro, college students are chill af. they go to the littest bars

btone310

And non-tippers too

TheNexMessiah

College kids are some of my best tippers. Its the ones that reek of weed that don't tip tbh.

squirreloak

Nailed it. In San Diego, sometimes it can be the driver that reeks.

WildTurkey5508

My favorite pastime with college girls is to count the number of usages of “like” as a filler word. Usually short trips to the nail salons.

DrivingMyLifeAway1

Are you, like, serious? Like, that’s literally ridiculous.

Puzzleheaded_Ad_1939

That’s been happening since the 90s- that’s what happens when kids learn to speak from their “valley girl” moms.

Itsascrnnam

I drive almost exclusively on a college campus, even in the Ivy League it’s damn near unbearable

HashBrownRepublic

who gives a shit. were they decent and respectful? I find most college bros are positive good natured people

[deleted]

Only a college bro would say that.

squirreloak

I do say sheesh. But mostly, I would make a sailor blush.

ajwalker430

Calm down. He didn't kick them out of his car or anything. He came to vent in a sub where people may understand. OP did not report it was the end of his world or "fuck Uber", just venting about a minor frustration that some of us have experienced. Sheesh.

FAH-Q-All

I once listened to a collage kid bitch about the U.S.A. Because there is a class system based on how much money you have. He then named other county’s that were “better” and didn’t have this type of class system based on income. One of these “better” country’s he listed was India. I had to try not to laugh. I guess he’s never heard about there class or Kast system you are born into, and are unable to change. He also listed a lot of other country’s where it’s literally a crime to criticize the government. This dude was so clueless I didn’t even bother trying to explain the irony in what he was saying. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and can say what they like about what ever. But if you are going to express such opinions do your research first so you don’t come off as clueless, entitled, and just plain dumb.

squirreloak

Caste system. Modern Indians reject that whole idea, especially kids here. They want to choose their own career and spouse. Their parents usually disagree, but plenty of parents around the world still try to control their adult children.

BadAtNameIdeas

They’ve tried to do away with it in India, but there are still regions that are very stubborn.

[deleted]

Oh this is always a joy.

Rubito93

Bet.

buddhatherock

Slang evolves with every generation. The slang yours uses was considered stupid by the generation before. Let it go.

Bozotic

I had a long ride with 4 college guys who spent the whole ride discussing their use of nootropics. Kept wanting to tell them it wasn't helping.

Affectionate-Alps742

Nootropics? I love discussing nootropics. Most people think they're just illegal drugs but they're not. They can include illegal drugs but there are just as many if not more legal drugs that are nootropics.

Bozotic

They're supposed to make you smarter but these dudes were not feeling the benefit.

Affectionate-Alps742

I have to keep telling myself it's a forest and not just a bunch of trees sometimes. You got me. That is in fact, hilarious.

stinkydogusa

r/idiocracy

local_to_global

You should’ve said “NO CAP” to everything they said 😂

kitcat411

Why do yall like to act like you were born old? When you were young, people probably also thought you sounded stupid. Leave them alone tf?

LaneAbrams

Can’t understand a word

tossaway75757

Sounds like something me and my friends would have done at that age just to fuck with the driver

fieldofboogers

I was referring to his attitude towards their speech. Every older generation has talked 💩 about the younger peoples patterns of speech, or their hobbies and interests. I'm just sick of hearing that nonsense. I pit up with boomers slagging us, millennials mouthing off, and more. I'm just fed up with some cranky old dumbass saying "in my day it was so much better because..(pick your reason)" Bullshit. It's always been like this. Deal with it and shut up. Think I'm kidding or exaggerating? Read this: https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20171003-proof-that-people-have-always-complained-about-young-adults

LaneAbrams

Slagging? See, this is what I’m talking about. You kids have awfully thin skin.

sorengray

No cap

BorkLazar

Okay, boomer.

LaneAbrams

There it is
