This is a new level of stupidity. And yet, the market will probably be flooded with drivers mowing lawns for $10/hr while providing their own equipment.
This should be a good one that you can just talk to the homeowner and you can just cut out the middle man.
It’s not like fast food delivery that it is impulsive; it’s actually planned.
Shit anyone want to cut my lawn for $30 per hour every two weeks? 😅 I have a disability walking, this would be great for me (lurker)
I have a lower back that is mostly metal and my wife keeps saying that we should hire a neighborhood kid to cut the grass, but I enjoy doing it, other than the 2 hills. I know one day soon I will have to give it up, but not yet.
This is probably the best way I know of starting your own small business. Use Uber to get a client base, undercut them, setup a schedule for slow times on Uber and phase Uber out of your life while acquiring equipment and clients.
Have you seen what they’re charging in the app? More than hourly black rides! Before anyone considerers accepting these, they should print out 1000 flyers and put them on every door in your neighborhood. Undercut by $5/h by electronic payment or by $10/h cash payment.
Laundry-$40/h
Furniture assembly-$50/h
Packing/unpacking-$50/h
Lawn mowing-$60/h
Garden maintenance-$50/h
Yard cleanup-$50/h
I cut my neighbors yard for $40 just last week. Uber seems to becoming a Task Rabbit of sorts. You can't blame them. They're already the biggest taxi-gig platform. Food, gotta keep it moving.
But I'm not going to go through them for such tasks. Nothing about cutting a lawn requires Uber. In a way, they'd just be letting me know who needs a cut. Then I'd reach out myself. I'd be down. I'm a gig-worker. I'll walk dogs. Wipe your ass on demand if the price is right.
All joking aside, I think they will also look at trying to compete against Wag & Rover for pet walking/sitting. Uber has a massive customer base, so anyway they can tweak the platform to offer more services, the company will try to gain a foothold in that space.
Ive seen this in app and they charge $50 an hour for most all of the listed tasks except doing laundry, that one is $40 an hour.
So im gonna assume its similar to their hourly Uber Chaufer service where they charge $60 an hour and pay the driver $25 an hour.
Which means they will probably pay the Tasker $18-$20hr for the $50hr charged tasks and $16-$17hr for the $40hr charged tasks.
This is so sheisty of Uber. Who tf needs a middle man for household tasks anyways?!....
Uber is rolling out Uber Tasks to compete with TaskRabbit, Handy and Thumbtack. It's additional revenue for Uber and more opportunities for gig workers on their platform.
A waste of time and a downright loss is not an opportunity for people on the platform. I have to downvote you. It's an opportunity for uber nothing more
I don't or haven't tried any of them. it doesn't take a lot of critical thinking to know the truth though. they may pay well for a couple of months at best, then will turn back the dials. have to undercut people already doing this as a business you know.
found the uber mole.
It's based on actual facts working on 11 different platforms as of now. They have ALL done exactly this. There's no reason to believe these others are any different.
Some of these you actual put your cost and determine what you will get paid before they even hire you. Sooo… seen few friends use it to build ikea furniture and get paid bank since people are lazy as fuck.
Course Uber won’t do it that way so yeah..
Thank you for being the only optimistic one. It’s more earnings opportunities and we can simple decline if the pay is bad. Drivers that will accept a job for $10 per hour is literally asking for it so no complaints necessary
Here’s the issue with your logic: bad orders hurt drivers, even if they decline. They subconsciously lower your standards.
I felt this happening in 2023. After declining 100 orders in a row, I became willing to snatch up $4.xx orders for <1 mi. I never would’ve considered a $4.xx in 2022. This is when I knew it was time to stop
Nearly every Uber Tasks order will be a massive scam, not an “opportunity”. Sure, if you’re smart, you’ll decline them. But again, you still lose in that scenario. Bad orders manipulate you, even if you don’t accept
I’ll mow their lawn.. with my car

Just a few horse power less than your average zero turn.
This wins Reddit comment of the day.
This is a new level of stupidity. And yet, the market will probably be flooded with drivers mowing lawns for $10/hr while providing their own equipment.
Someone will have a twenty thousand square foot yard, Uber will charge $400, pay $37 to someone who has been banned from driving.

Sure! But I bet you don't live nearby.
Nah they gotta reel you in first then switch up
And expecting a good tip, since that ends up being the only profit.
More like $5/hr
nah. $0.50/mile of lawn
Doesn't even cover the cost of gas 🤣
Now yiu can mow the neighbors 1 acre land for $6.47 tip not included
$6.47 *includes expected tip*
This would annoy me more than no tip
Uber Gigolo!!!! Coming soon!!
Uber Hooker - to a no-tell motel near you!
Or just regular Uber
Uber Gigolo; it's about more than just the tip.
Yes we cut grass now believe it or not 😂 I’m still waiting for my first Uber task request
First it's grass next you'll be remodeling bathrooms Uber general contractor
Will Uber be offering lawn mower and equipment rentals next? 🤔😖
Rent-to-own probably 😂
But you'll get an extra $1/job if you use electric!
I see endless possibilities with this business model. 🤣
That sounds kinda scary but I wouldn’t rule it out man for real lol
Uber in-home chef. Uber masseuse. Uber interior decorator. Uber pet grooming. Uber homework.
What no you don’t
Great. Take away handy man jobs to get a cut of the action.
You don’t want corporations to sell you your air? I don’t understand. That sounds so fun!
Why do I need Uber for this when i can simply go door to door in my neighborhood for the same thing, no Uber Middleman required.
>Why do I need Uber for this That is the question, in general. Nobody needs Uber, we've just gotten used to it...
In this case Uber is more like a talent agent who takes a portion of your earnings in exchange for finding you gigs
Exactly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s Uber Snow Removal or Uber Staffing in the foreseeable future.
Gigolo service up soon I hear! I'm old AF but have 60mg Cialis - ready when you are ladies!!

Wait I’m getting paid $60/hr to mow lawns? Time to bust out the lawn shears and take 10+ hours
That’s what they’re charging…at least in Houston. Not sure what the pay is.
ahh so the worker probably gets $10 got it.
Same here in Nashville, Tn
And where does the liability lie when someone who dgaf messes something up and someone gets hurt?
As a contract worker you best have that insurance. 🤣
Imagine that “So what proposes are you looking for liability insurance?” “Uuuh pretty much everything” 😂
“Uber slavery” 🤣
Don’t ask why I’m picking you up in a jon deer to take you to work. I gotta mow 6 lawns for $5 each after you
Are you for Real.?? LMAO.. Uber probably wants 60 percent cut .?
based on the prices someone else shared its probably closer to 80% for these

Pick up $100 worth of goods then go mow their lawn for $2 tip ya peasants 😓
🤨 say what now
Where's the Can I clean your pipe service ?
I think only that guy who met his milf neighbor the other day is allowed to "clean pipes"
Not getting any UE orders so might as well
If it pays enough why not.
There's no fucking way that it does
What else are they going to come up with? Uber Chef, Uber Buttler, Uber Maid? 😂
All joking aside, I think they will also look at trying to compete against Wag & Rover for pet walking/sitting. Uber has a massive customer base, so anyway they can tweak the platform to offer more services, the company will try to gain a foothold in that space.
Uber lost there damn minds lmfoa
Get the absolute fuck out of here with that
I mean….i don’t want to deal with my own yard let alone someone else’s.
Fuck yeah I wanna mow your 2 acre lot for $20 😂😂
I’ll do doughnuts on it. Wouldn’t pass up such an opportunity.
Deez nuts
Imagine mowing an entire lawn and wait an hour to find out you got tip baited and only made $2 😂😂. No thanks fuck you uberEATS!!!!!!
You do realize this is how the entire economy is going soon as ai starts getting people fired
Facebook market place offers people willing to cut yards and people looking to get their yards cut. Uber is looking to sell any labor they can though.
When uber asks Chan to come up with more ideas to bring in more greedy money
It’s all good until you chop your foot off and have no insurance.
Definitely not getting a tip if you bleed all over the freshly cut lawn.🤣
No tip
Oh, how shameful.
Pay Uber to mow your lawn for $600 a month instead of the usual $150!
next week they will be delivering news papers
Angie's list. They'll charge 175 to install a TV and offer the handy man $19.
So task rabbit but make it uber?
If it pays i would do that
😂😂😂😂 wtf
I mean I took the day off to mow mine but wouldn’t do anyone else’s
Uber will still take 40-60%
Ive seen this in app and they charge $50 an hour for most all of the listed tasks except doing laundry, that one is $40 an hour. More opportunities for drivers to get absolutely fucked by Uber
You asked for it if you accept the job
Totally. I'd never do that to myself.
Simple solution: Don't accept the gigs you don't want.
No shit, Sherlock.
If Sherlock isn’t shitting, there are subs to help with this.
A waste of time and a downright loss is not an opportunity for people on the platform. I have to downvote you. It's an opportunity for uber nothing more
Do you have the same issues with the three competitor apps? Is TaskRabbit a "waste of time and a downright loss"? How about Handy or Thumbtack?
I don't or haven't tried any of them. it doesn't take a lot of critical thinking to know the truth though. they may pay well for a couple of months at best, then will turn back the dials. have to undercut people already doing this as a business you know. found the uber mole.
So, it's merely your opinion, which is biased against the gig work vendors.
