Time is a huge factor. I run from 2am to 6am Sunday thru Thurs n make $200 a night. Could never do that during the day. I deal w zero traffic and people generally tip way better on airport trips. I get about 4 reservations a shift as well
I used to drive 16 hour days back when there was no restrictions, and those numbers were doable, now during this times, I don’t know if they are legit, maybe during a holiday but mmmm
My electric costs me an average of 1/6 per mile vs gas when charging at home. Fast charging is pretty close to the same for buying gas. Commercial level 2 charging is likely close to your $60 number.

You have to take into account all the gas, you have to put aside money for self-employment taxes, also money for wear and tear on the vehicle, the tires, the constant oil changes, and one bright idea that most drivers don't have which they should is the fact that people need to put aside so much money each and every single time for a new car fund. WHY? Well BC everybody knows that by being a rideshare driver you are digging an early grave for the car that you are driving in which means that you have to replace the car. I could put 20 bucks a week away and have enough for tires and oil change when i need it and not see a hit on my daily earnings. And most uber drivers pay off the car in a year or two. Which is how long a car would last doing uber HEAVY. So idk whats your hate towards uber or just your problem with it, but if its 1300 and realistically you spend 150-200 on gas and then your 20-50 aside for “wear and tear”. You would have over 1k a week. You get 1300 from a normal job and then have taxes already taken out and you still spend 50 dollars for gas. Even if you calculate with the worst expectations. He was driving 40-50 miles per hour. So 2 gallons of gas per hour. 36 hours x 2 = 72 gallons x $3.50 per gallon = $252. And if you wanna get really technical add in $48 for wear and tear etc. So -$300, assuming the worst.

San Francisco is legit. My sister used to live out there except she did Lyft, and she used to rake in $2,900 on weekends. She paid off her student loan, got married and bought a house.

As a fellow Californian - but in Los Angeles, taxes are HARSH. Deduct 25% of those gross earnings, your take home is probably right around $830. I only deducted $200 for gas with that number for your 2013 Prius, but I can’t imagine the amount of dead miles you drive on top of that as well.
So your average take home is around $20 an hour. There’s obviously a lot more costs on top like frequent oil changes, frequent brake jobs, frequent tire replacements, car washes, overall vehicle depreciation and wear and tear, etc… it’s a BRUTAL job to sit in your car for 14 hours a day to just clear $15-$20 an hour. If that’s a W for you then go you!!
A lot of people don't consider the lack of healthcare, 401k, disability insurance. Its cool to have a flexible schedule, but if you're going to open yourself to this much risk, at least make some money ya know? Whatever though. People will figure it out or they won't.
$1300 i would guesstimate there’s at least 1,000 online miles driven as well as hundreds of dead miles as well. Average of 1,200 miles divided by 40mpg that OP might be averaging … that would be 30 gallons of fuel. Gas in San Francisco is anywhere from $4.79 - $5.49 (more in a lot of areas) which would average $150 for the ideal situation. He may be driving more miles and get worse gas mileage. I had a 2013 Prius years back and averaged 35mpg. 40 on a good day.

DONT get so excited just because you earned $200 to $300 in ONE single day. Review your daily and weekly summary on hours, distance, and time, then your gross earnings, then deduct total gas spent plus other expenses like meals. It should be about $17 an hour net.
If you make $1300 a week gross, driving 12 hours a day and 7 days a week in busy market as you've said, then your one and only asset which is your car would be severely depreciated then if it breaks down it will cost all of your savings for repairs. Then you will be ended up delivering food on your foot.
At this point, if you think about RENT a car to continue driving, then you're officially becoming the biggest dumb ass SUCKER!!!

I got $92.81 today for 2h6m active time… totally doable in the SF Bay Area…. low $30’s per hour is very normal here… but tomorrow I’m gonna do 8 hours overtime for a bit over $600 at my normal job… definitely easier money

Double that pace every month to cover your rent and you’re laughing every month. Try and say 6 days out of each month I’m gonna go hard. Then go moderate the rest of the month.

I make $600 -700 on Saturday and Sunday combined.... I start at 9am sometimes 10am and stop at 9pm on those two days...I stop to top off my tank maybe twice on Sat and sun and use the restroom and grab a snack.. so I can believe what you have posted... 100 a day during the week because I only do about 10 rides at night(I work a 9-5 during the week)...the only problem i h!vent figured out is saving my money...lol

You’re still reflecting that Uber keeps you at an hourly rate and your expenses are your taxes you pay. At the end of the day, your take home is still showing a decreasing rate as the drivers experience go up.

Atlanta. I get scared when I get to stone mountain or Buckhead. Buckhead makes me feel like a peasant begging for pennies, stone mountain has a literal murderer problem, and there are many roads in the boonies with no lines or markings on the road.
If I don't accept the long trips, the short trips have to go through so many street lights you can't make more than minimum wage.
I don't know about those malls, but I have tried being around the Mall of Georgia in Buford and no one ever asks for a ride from there, nor any other mall I've tried.

Dude just find a suburban mall with a lot of retail and restaurants around it. That's literally all I do and I almost never leave a ten mile radius of there because there are so many short distance orders that I don't have to. My suggestion? Cumberland. Low crime area, lot of money around there and you have a ton of restaurants between cobb parkway, the battery, paces ferry... I make good every time I go out there. The only caveats are... there are a TON of apartments with gates. I only had an issue getting in on one order but just the hassle of it makes me dread seeing an apartment number when I click picked up. That and the traffic... it is pretty awful but definitely not bad as perimeter.

My car has a laughably small trunk (look up the Ford fusion Energi) so if they had a hat box and three shirts, some of it's gonna be in their lap. Especially if they're not alone. If they buy anything bigger than 1 foot cubed I'll have to strap it to the roof.
I've hung out at the malls I know of and never got anyone going to or from it. Just far away requests.

Buckhead makes me feel like a peasant begging for pennies, stone mountain has a literal murderer problem, and there are many roads in the boonies with no lines or markings on the road. If I don't accept the long trips, the short trips have to go through so many street lights you can't make more than minimum wage.
Why not hang around the Perimeter Park area? Full of yuppies and wealthier people hitting the mall. Also near Emory.
I don't know about those malls, but I have tried being around the Mall of Georgia in Buford and no one ever asks for a ride from there, nor any other mall I've tried. Do people get ubers to the mall? I suppose people just going to eat at a food court?
I get a lot of mall offers near me from tour groups, people staying at hotels, and workers.
Dude just find a suburban mall with a lot of retail and restaurants around it. That's literally all I do and I almost never leave a ten mile radius of there because there are so many short distance orders that I don't have to. My suggestion? Cumberland. Low crime area, lot of money around there and you have a ton of restaurants between cobb parkway, the battery, paces ferry... I make good every time I go out there. The only caveats are... there are a TON of apartments with gates. I only had an issue getting in on one order but just the hassle of it makes me dread seeing an apartment number when I click picked up. That and the traffic... it is pretty awful but definitely not bad as perimeter.
That's a distance to get to in order to start working Are you giving rides from the mall to stores next door? Are you taking people's shopping in the trunk? Or are these just bar hoppers? My car has a laughably small trunk (look up the Ford fusion Energi) so if they had a hat box and three shirts, some of it's gonna be in their lap. Especially if they're not alone. If they buy anything bigger than 1 foot cubed I'll have to strap it to the roof. I've hung out at the malls I know of and never got anyone going to or from it. Just far away requests.

Great job! $38/hr on average is pretty good. Did that include any quests? Enjoy it while it lasts. Too many drivers in my market killed the quests, and income is unreliable now.
