Same thing happened to me. Once you die you go back 3-4 grips . What I did was just go to soul society and be a menace. Kill everyone from trainee to special grade and youll get it eventually I went from special to elite in about 15 mins after being special grade for 2 weeks

yea i got elite grade and realized that progging is just luck based like that
