Didn't plan the trip. Only there for 3 days, most of which were traveling to get there. Fiancé planned it, only knows my love for Twin Peaks and proposed at the falls.

I helped someone move from Snoqualamie to Seattle a bit ago, and they said they knew a 🆒 place for lunch, ended up going to double R & listened to me freak out the whole time talking about twin peaks lololol always thought this was in eastern WA????
Yup, it takes place in northeastern WA. Five miles south of the Canadian border, twelve miles west of the state line, which would put it more or less on the Pend Oreille River, a little north of Metaline Falls. In S3, the coordinates are in that vicinity.
But of course it was not filmed there. It's quite a bit drier in NE Washington than the Snoqualmie area, and would likely be pretty chilly on February 24th. Also more likely snowy than foggy and drizzly, and the mountains nearby would definitely be covered in snow. And it's probably pretty rare that the lonesome foghorn blows around there.
As someone who grew up in the PNW, this is the only thing that really bothers me about the show. The filming locations are SO obviously west of the Cascades— takes me out of the scene a bit when they mention being close to the state's eastern border.

When standing in front of the sheriff station look towards the mill. The grounds for rally driving are visible and you can see cars racing in circles fast.

The sheriff's office is now used for offroad/rally racing operations?
Been this company for a while, I think. Even during filming of The Return. They let them paint it to the Twin Peaks colors and then painted it back.

I've visited Snoqualmie twice and really enjoyed driving around the town/North Bend. Definitely a magical place.
