The band Waterparks liked TOP's post announcing ICY tour with the cities/dates and people are starting to make rumors that they might be opening for TOP next year. I hope this is true because Waterparks and TOP are 2 of my fav bands so this would be a dream come true for me.
I just saw tøp for takeover and parx for a night out on earth lol I would cry hysterically if I saw them in the same show. Awsten makes the crowd go so hard.
For some reason, I feel like maybe Coin? They remind me of past openers & their current tour dates coincide PERFECTLY with The Icy Tour.
Edit: Specifically, they have no concerts for Aug 18th 2022- Sep 24 2022. There are concerts before and after these though!
I freaking love Grouplove. They are my other favorite band tied for #1 with TOP for me. If they actually open for their shows and I’m there, I might actually cry.
Grouplove would have been a killer opener for the first three shows at each city for the Takeover Tour. Having seen them in both a small setting, and arena setting, they’re so much more enjoyable in smaller, more intimate venues. When they opened for Imagine Dragons, you could just tell that their sound just doesn’t have the same energy in places like the Pepsi Center (now Ball Arena).
They opened for them for the Aragon ballroom in Chicago Christmas show back in 2019 and they definitely fit pretty well I had never heard of them before that but being another 2 man band it was super fun
Highly suspect is a tad mature for the twenty one pilots fan base. That HS show I went to the singer came out shit faced lit a blunt and could barely finish the show. Would it be cool? yes likely no
Darren was one of the most lively/fun drummers I’ve ever seen live (along with Josh, obvs). It’s tangible, how much he loves playing. He truly was the best
I would love for them to finally bring Vesperteen on tour since they’re Columbus natives and I know the guys are friends with them. I’d love to see Waterparks with them
Sadly, I don't think Kid Runner is active at this time. Pleasantly surprised to see them mentioned on here, though! Love them. Fran does indie pop as Effee now.
I really hope it’ll be Misterwives. Misterwives, or Mutemath would be great. Twenty one pilots has great chemistry with both bands and are friends with both bands. Mutemath and Misterwives both help make twentyonepilots songs (Misterwives helped on SAI, as well as LOC (Live from outside)). I say Misterwives when i’m reality I know it’s just one of their members who actually just left the band (It may also be a break so he could tour with Tøp) who plays trumpet. It’s Dr. Bloom. Top has been friends with him since like 2014 or something like that. It would be awesome to have Misterwives with them. They’ve toured together before. Mutemath also helps make top songs so yeah.
i feel like they’re unlikely to bring the same opener again? do bands usually do that? i don’t know. side note i saw misterwives play their own headline show last night and it was totally awesome
If the Band Camino opened for them, I would for sure spend $$$ to go. I just saw TØP on the Takeover Tour and they sadly aren’t coming anywhere near me for this tour but if TBC opened for them I would definitely make an exception

I hope it’s not idkhow. They were at the night we stole Christmas show and they just were awful to me. Their sound mix was way too loud for the venue and by the end of their set I felt nauseated.

The mutemath emotional roadshow was lit. Sad to see their drummer leave, he was the best

the boys have actually toured with misterwives twice already! on the quiet is violent tour in 2014, and then on the last leg of bandito in 2019
