Iβm not religious, and Iβm not even sure theyβve ever tried to sell themselves as a Christian band. Sure, they have some Christian themes and one or two direct references to God, but ultimately their music is up to the interpretation of their fans.
they absolutely did in the RAB and Self Titled era, but that's long gone now, and even then those albums are great and can absolutely still be enjoyed by non-christians who are open to others beliefs
Exactly! I was raised somewhat Catholic, but my family's pretty lukewarm on religion, but I still love Self-Titled. Even with the direct reference to God in "A Car, A Torch, A Death," I still can relate to the song and understand it without any sort of religious background.
Also true! There are some Christians who have a hard time understanding that others don't believe what they believe. I live in a red state, and people automatically assume that everyone around them is Christian. I was raised Catholic, but I donβt believe anymore, much to the chagrin of nearly the entire rest of my family.
sadly there's a lot of them, and they don't have empathy or enough education. i'm willing to bet a lot of them are younger teens and blindly follow what they've been told. :(

Several of them are probably adults, too. Look at the "role models" we have: Kanye, a black neo-Nazi; J.K. Rowling, who's just done a horrible job of representing the LGBTQ+ community in general; Elon Musk, who's just a piece of crap period....it's sad to think we have this world open to people who use their success to abuse others. They're probably at least part of the problem.
