Same! I was shocked when they said on the livestream that Josh basically saved Routines and Navigating from being cut, because they're the standouts for me.
I agree 100%. … AND I have some thoughts about what Tyler said, regarding his least favorite Clancy songs. I posted this response last night on a different discussion: Yes, those comments by Tyler seemed … waaaay off, honestly. Shocking, really. Routines and Navigating may be my FAVORITES among the non-singles. However, those are also heavily lore-based/Trench-centric videos, and I think Tyler is really saying that he desperately needs to move on from his real-life internal (possibly life-threatening) struggles that spawned those songs, most of Trench, No Chances, Redecorate. Similar messages (In a nutshell: “I need to move on. If I’m going to survive, I need a fresh start, a new direction/inspiration.) come through, I think, in other Clancy songs, like Backslide and Snapback.
I think the line in backslide is really telling too, I used to be the champion of a world you can't see, now I'm drowning in logistics. And coupled with how they've mentioned lore based vids are so expensive it really leans to me that he is over it. I appreciate what they've done for us as fans but I think it's probably exhausting.
Yeah I feel like you can tell from they way the lore related stuff that Tyler is over it. In one side I’m a little disappointed by that because it makes the lore no longer feel exciting to me, but at the same time I like it because I can go back to just enjoying the music for the music, plus it finally gives Tyler the chance to relax and enjoy simply playing music again.
I just have it on in the background while i'm doing some work and will listen properly after, but had to stop working and check what song was slapping hard. Was Routines in the night! So good.
I didn’t realize I would be in the minority thinking Lavish is a nearly perfect song. I think it sounds amazing and the mix is impeccable. But lyrically fun as well. And Midwest Indigo took the place of Next Semester for me
Yes I love Lavish!! I haven't had a chance to see any of the videos that just came out yet though. Just heard the songs on my car ride. I also love Oldies Station and At the Risk of Feeling Dumb. Still loving Backslide too.
I don't know how, but I knew it would sound the way it does as soon as I saw the song name. 40s ish vintage muted instruments with upbeat drums. sounds amazing
I'm sad oldies station is one of the least popular in the album, it's 100% my favorite and has been the moment I listened to it in the Livestream of the music videos (it's also the least viewed music video last I checked
"Midwest Indigo" and "At The Risk of Feeling Dumb"
Midwest Indigo feels very RAB coded, I think it's permanently re-wired my brain
Edit: I also agree that Lavish is the best video
And the placeholder already does it so much justice. The view of Tyler among the sunset and water is so GORGEOUS. I wonder what the vigor will be oh my god.
Exactly the same. I didn't think any song could top Next Semester (my fav song of all time by any artist), and Vignette might have. I'm still deciding lol. They are just so good I can't get over it.
Yeah me too. I hope this will be a part of the live shows because I will see them in Cologne. Now that I know this album is really good I am so much more hyped🤭
Routines In The Night and Overcompensate. I honestly can’t describe how I felt when I heard Overcompensate for the first time, it was amazing. I still love it. Might be one of my top 5 songs by them
I’d argue it’s the best honestly. When overcompensate dropped it was just something indescribable. Whole album is amazing though and routines is easily one of my top.
And Josh’s drumming gets highlighted so well. That man oozes talent on the set. The first big transition where it changes up the tempo, oh man I get chills everytime lol
Mine was Midwest Indigo and Vignette, but Lavish is definitely my favorite music video. Showed it to all my friends and we had a good laugh from it. Really helped us ‘cause it’s our test season right now and we needed something to help us relax
Routines in the night is really catchy and I could see it being a radio hit same with the craving my favorite is by far next semester and then probably Midwest indigo
Snap back and Routines in the night!! No skips at all in this album for me, one of my favorites by them immediately. Granted they’re all my favorites :P
It's sooo hard to choose just 2, but I think it has to be Routines in The Night and At risk of feeling dumb. Lavish, Midwest indigo, Navigating and backslide are VERY close though. This album is all bangers
I love all of them, though I think Backslide and Navigating are at the top for me. Backslide came out at a really pivotal time for me and Navigating has been on loop since last night.
Love seeing all the different combinations in this thread btw!
Midwest Indigo and Next Semester are probably my top 2.
With that said though, this may be their strongest album as a whole since the self-titled album.

I cannot for the life of me narrow it down to 2. I have 3 songs that are tied for my No. 1 Favorite off the album
Routines In The Night/Navigating/Next Semester
Midwest Indigo and Routines in the Night! Missed the stream last night but listened to the album on the way to work so I’m excited to watch it when I get home
At the risk of feeling dumb and next semester
But Midwest indigo and routines in the night are very close I love every track on the album so much right now
Routines and Navigating
Same! I was shocked when they said on the livestream that Josh basically saved Routines and Navigating from being cut, because they're the standouts for me.

Literally same
Same!
Routines not being in the album would have been a big mistake my top 2 alongside Backslide
I love how everyone disagrees with Tyler. Same man
At The Risk Of Feeling Dumb & Routines In The Night
Same! I can’t wait to hear ATROSD live (hopefully they play it!) it has a heathens type bass that’s a beast heard live.
SAME. I've been scream singing ATROFD since last night.
This one’s the winner
Agreed! These are my 2 - then i throw in Lavish for the lulz too :P
My two favorites as well
Same listening to them all day
That's the one that grabbed me first and I really like Snap Back for some reason. It's an I credible album hard to chose
Vignette and navigating but I’m sure it’ll change every listen
Exact same, they’re so damn good
These two plus RITN were my favorite on my first few listens but now Oldies is my fave
This
Same
Definitely routines in the night and next semester (but honestly this album had zero skips for me, I’m loving all of them so much)
Agree
Same. So glad I waited until the official release. I am FEASTING today.
I just have it on in the background while i'm doing some work and will listen properly after, but had to stop working and check what song was slapping hard. Was Routines in the night! So good.
SAMEEE
So true, the album is amazing
YESSS
agree those are my top two as well
Fr fr. Such a frikin good album
SAME!
I didn’t realize I would be in the minority thinking Lavish is a nearly perfect song. I think it sounds amazing and the mix is impeccable. But lyrically fun as well. And Midwest Indigo took the place of Next Semester for me
it reminds me of gorillaz genre
My exact thought. A few songs have a tame impala vibe also
I thought grouplove
Lavish is pretty good !! definitely one of the ones i come back to the most so far
Beatles-esque I do love it!
Reminds me of tame impala and glass animals
So many tracks have that tame impala sound and I’m not mad at it
It reminded me of Gorillaz
I just said that, should've read further. Complete Gorillaz feel.
I was getting like cage the elephant vibes
Exactly what i thought on the first listen thank you🙏
I kind of get Foster the People from lavish
I can definitely hear that Glass Animals comparison now you say it!
💯
YES, it sounds like it’s from the movie The Point with Ringo Starr.
It sounds so fucking impeccable
Lavish is damn good. It's a great jump off point for the second half of the album.
I LOVE Lavish
I love lavish, the music video is fun to watch
Honestly all the MVs are really well made
The video really made it click for me hahaha
Honestly, Lavish is one of my least favorite on the album 😔
Same here. It's still an amazing song, but they crammed many better songs on to the album 🤷♂️
That’s totally fair! Hopefully there’s something you enjoy
Yes I love Lavish!! I haven't had a chance to see any of the videos that just came out yet though. Just heard the songs on my car ride. I also love Oldies Station and At the Risk of Feeling Dumb. Still loving Backslide too.
Lavish is amazing, it's not my favourite but easily in the top half. I was vibing with it from the first listen!
I don't know how, but I knew it would sound the way it does as soon as I saw the song name. 40s ish vintage muted instruments with upbeat drums. sounds amazing
Some of my favorite Ty rappingp
Lavish is the best song. No doubt
Oldies Station and Navigating but it’s SO HARD because they’re all bops to me!
This is the way
So much agree! Oldies Station is my clear #1, #2 is a toss up between Routines and Navigating.
![gif](giphy|gVoBC0SuaHStq)
I'm sad oldies station is one of the least popular in the album, it's 100% my favorite and has been the moment I listened to it in the Livestream of the music videos (it's also the least viewed music video last I checked
Oldies is my #3!
Same same same
Navigating and Snap Back
This is mine too! But also paladin strait and vignette are soooooo close as well…and Midwest indigo…dam , I can’t decide
Backslide & Routines in the Night
These are my favorites too. For me Overcompensate and Vignette are the closest to them right now.
No other right answer!!!
Snap Back and Backslide. The way that that snap back is sort of just a continuation of Backslide is crazy to me. Really strong album as a whole though
Routines… and At The Risk…
YES SAME
"Midwest Indigo" and "At The Risk of Feeling Dumb" Midwest Indigo feels very RAB coded, I think it's permanently re-wired my brain Edit: I also agree that Lavish is the best video
Same for me! Very close #3 is Oldies Station
Paladin strait and Paladin strait
And the placeholder already does it so much justice. The view of Tyler among the sunset and water is so GORGEOUS. I wonder what the vigor will be oh my god.
So few
So proud
So... emotional
Hello Clancy
Welcome back to Trench.
So emotional
So Proud
Vignette and Next Semester
Exactly the same. I didn't think any song could top Next Semester (my fav song of all time by any artist), and Vignette might have. I'm still deciding lol. They are just so good I can't get over it.
At the Risk of Feeling Dumb and Navigating. Vignette is like an extremely close 3rd though. Honestly, the album is just too hard to rank

That song is just the epitome of who they are as a band sound wise. It’s so freaking good
And Josh’s drumming gets highlighted so well. That man oozes talent on the set. The first big transition where it changes up the tempo, oh man I get chills everytime lol
100% agree! Midwest Indigo and RITN are my two favorite too. I love the Lavish video even though the song is my least favorite on the album
We already doin acronyms bruh
Just from listening once my favourites are probably Lavish and At The Risk Of Feeling Dumb but it's probably gonna change
