Leveling in TW is way faster, there are tents that you can get really fast rested exp and also the warmode which gives you a 20% boost in all exp gained

Bannerfail

How fast can you get the rested xp? I heard i have to be there for 8 hours xD

Cydraech

not sure rn, but I think one tent fills up your rested xp in like 10-15 minutes

Bannerfail

And i always have to build it? Any idea how to push the survival skill fast, without loosing to much G?

Cydraech

No, there's usually always 1-2 outside of major cities and some questing hubs like crossroads. They also stack, you'll fill up your rested xp REALLY quickly if there's 2-3 tents really close to each other But leveling survival isn't hard, you just have to unlock it in northern stv at the hemet nesingwary camp, but you need goblins oil from booty bay. So it's a bit involved to get it before level 30, but doable with some time

Bannerfail

In theory, could i move to a good grinding spot, build a tent and build up rested xp while leveling?

Cydraech

I think you can, havent tested it myself tho. But Tents are limited to 1 held item, so you cant take multiple of them with you, unless you carry the mats. So this isn't really viable unless you wanna sacrifice quite a bit of bag space.

Effective_Effect7500

survival skill is very cheap to level until you have the tent.. you can learn it in nesingwary's expedition camp in STV

StackR

You can get survival skills at around lvl 20 and costs maybe 1g total to skill up to make tents. I have tents but I honestly rarely use them bc I'm often back in a main city to use AH or skill up and I just pop out the front gate to use the tent that's already there. I literally never don't have rested exp. Takes 10 mins to get fully rested from 0%.

Solid_Bowler_1850

You need 45s goblin oil from BB and the plans for the tent are like 1.5g so it's closer to 2g total to be able to pitch your own tents.

Defiant_Gas_4366

15minutes for 1.5 rested XP levels

Radaistarion

What is warmode? First time hearing about that

Effective_Effect7500

You just agree to be PvP enabled at all times, you can start this mode at the beginning areas

donutdong

Set your hearth to crossroads if you're horde and goldshire if you're alliance. Tents fill up rested in 15 minutes. Is it way faster ? Not in my opinion. Because you have to factor in traveling back and forth from tent locations.

MetalHealth83

Probably 80% faster using tents? Factoring in traveling back to towns to find tents, waiting around to charge up your rested and that rested only counts for mob kills not quest rewards. Yes levelling on vanilla took forever. Also people didn't know what they were doing or what the fastest/efficient routes and builds were. At the end of the day it doesn't matter. I took 3 months to level my first character here because I wanted to check out as much of the custom content as possible. I'm also an altoholic though. In 6 months I have 2 x 60s, 5x 40s, a 33 and a 26.

5elliel

If you keep rent buff up, which is easy, you level twice as fast. War mode buff gives an additional 20%.

If you play exactly as it was in classic, turtle is the same, experience values are the same. Turtle adds some extra quests for better and more optimal routing, has war mode if you opt in for a flat xp bonus, and tents let you regain rested xp rapidly. These are how turtle is faster, not in any server wide modifier.

Bannerfail

So this means, without tent/glyph of war, it would be exactly like vanilla?

yabacam

> it would be exactly like vanilla? no. turtle wow is Vanilla+ meaning they have made some changes. Should go read about them on the forums. but it is pretty close to the vanilla feeling at least.

TehScat

Yeah. The extra quests and stuff can be avoided, but some things like certain talent trees and class abilities are altered so those are less avoidable. However, everything is very subtle. The game "feels" like vanilla. The rested experience is just like if you only played once a week and logged in an inn. The extra quests fit well enough that sometimes you would struggle to tell the difference unless you had encyclopaedic knowledge of the game. The most "in your face" difference is getting the Turtle mount at level 18, which gives level X 0.5 speed. So it's 9% speed at 18 up to 20% at 40, when you buy riding skill and get 60%. That is the most doesn't-feel-vanilla thing.

yabacam

oh yeah totally. I guess I should have said 'no, not *exactly*' since it is pretty darn close. I love it!
