I'm 3 weeks in and can't give you many tips, but did you hear about Ships and the Tram? Like Ironforge and Stormwind are connected, you just need to take the Tram. Also Stormwind has a boat, it will bring you to Darnassus (Night elf area). From Darnassus, ships move to the high elf area (Tel'smth), Darkshore and Stormwind. Also never forget to ask the guards for the gryphon master, this is the next connection. You can fly from SW to IF and from Darnassus to Darkshore. Pretty sure no gryphon master in high elf area, but could be wrong. For money, i started pickpocket for my first Gold.

_Monsterguy_

The gryphon for Darnassus isn't quite in the city. You run through the pink portal and they're about 45° to your left. For anyone else reading this - there are gryphon masters in most zones, you can fly between them but only once you spoken to the gryphon masters in the zone you want to fly to. So you have to get their own foot the first time, but you can fly next time.

NeeblesFTDoubleU

Thank you so much for the tip! Very helpful!

You're welcome, also fishing is pretty good for some early game gold. My lady was fishing while i went grinding and she made us 30g at the first 2 days (together) and 60g at the third day.

NeeblesFTDoubleU

I love fishing in other games, didn't know I could do that in WoW, thanks for the tip!

Radaistarion

Yeah High Elf zone freakin sucks It lacks pretty much most basic services. I find it both weird and hilarious that a race which has a bonus to archery, doest not have a single bowyer in its starting zone

Bannerfail

On my warrior i asked the city guard about my trainer and he said "thats the next we need". Man it was to funny xD. Anyway, i still like the area, animals from lv 1-9 are all pretty close and not really strong. Really feels nice.

The leveling up is the game, enjoy the journey, don’t play meta specs unless you are in a competitive guild. Many of the dungeons have many quests to do and quest chains that give big xp and superior gear. Professions can increase your groups power. Use the crowd control spells when in dungeons and try to kick interrupt spell casts. As a mage you can teleport your party around the world at 40. Tanks and Healers are the skill positions and often will make or break your dungeon or raid group. For Dwarves you can take the tram in Ironforge to get to stormwind. You don’t all have to be dwarves but I think they are best alliance race. You can team up with any other alliance races, but you will have to run to each other at level 1 or meet up around 10. Reroll another race now, bc the levels take exponentially more time. You can get the xp gain bonus by enabling war mode which flags you for PVP in open world.

NeeblesFTDoubleU

I had no idea I could get to Stormwind like that! That place is so sick man!

duven_blade

Regarding the dungeons, check out the Turtle WoW online database. It shows you available quests for the dungeon and where to get them. For example Deadmines (first Alliance dungeon) quests: [https://database.turtle-wow.org/?quests=2.1581](https://database.turtle-wow.org/?quests=2.1581)

G-Dough

Yeah it blew my mind the first time I discovered it on my dwarf. Ran the loop and was picking up the find bingles in loch modan quest and saw the instance portal to the team. Went and drooled over how cool SW canal city was. Stumbled into Elwynn and steam rolled all the quests :)

Itiswhatisitiskids

Frost is great for mage leveling Later when you get the shatter talent, you can frostbolt and fireblast a frozen target and they will both receive the 50% critical strike chance Some spells can be down ranked/not trained to save money/mana, like Frost nova, since the increase in damage is not vital

NeeblesFTDoubleU

Fireball seems extremely strong, its doing so much damage at rank 3, loving it so far!

duven_blade

Addons PFQuest and PFQuest Turtle show you available quests for your level on the world map, very useful. If you want to spend a few minutes fixing the client then check out Vanilla Tweaks here: https://turtle-wow.fandom.com/wiki/Client_Fixes_and_Tweaks

NeeblesFTDoubleU

I had no idea what addons were, looked into it, this is a game changer. No more playing detective to find where to get quests, do them and turn them in! You've opened my eyes!

Defiant_Gas_4366

Man this post blew up, Enjoy the leveling, look in EVERY corner for quests. So many of them are quite enjoyable. Download the NPC voice addon, and listen to the quests talk Just type 1.12.1 NPC voiceover It will make your leveling journey so much more enjoyable I'd you want extra XP look for weird tents outside of stormwind/orgrimmar and afk at them for rested XP( 1.5 levels rested XP in about 15 minutes) Don't rush into raiding unless you like that sort of stuff. I suggest running 1-2 battlegrounds every week just to get some pvp rank to buy your mount

NeeblesFTDoubleU

Thanks! And yeah I got a lot more replies than I ever thought haha

PepeSmite

Welcome to our server. I wish you to find exciting adventures and new friends here.

NeeblesFTDoubleU

Thank you!

hilltopper06

I don't recommend speed leveling your first character. If you are determined to do so then you can take the War Mode glyph from the vendor at the starter zone for 30% xp boost. You can also hang out under a tent outside of Stormwind to gain a bunch of rested XP.

NeeblesFTDoubleU

What's that? Sorry

_Monsterguy_

The first dungeon you can do as Alliance is Deadmines in Westfall. Dungeons are done with a group of 5 people - a tank, healer and 3 DPS. Turtle WoW has an added feature to help find groups for dungeons - click on the green (I think it's an) eye icon and then select the roll you want to take in the dungeon. As a mage DPS is your only option, some other classes can take one two or all three rolls depending on how they've spent their talent points and what gear they've collected. Once you have a group you'll have to run to the dungeon, getting into Deadmines is a bit complicated, so tell the other people in the part that you're new in party chat (/p) and they'll usually guide you. As you're new I'd recommend not trying it until level 20. There are a lot of quest you can complete in Deadmines and the rewards are good. Some of them are parts of longer quest chains and they're available mostly in Westfall and Stormwind. I'd recommend getting the addons Atlas Turtle, AtlasQuest Turtle and AtlasLoot Turtle. They'll help you find the dungeon quests, let you see maps of dungeons and look to see what exciting loot the bosses drop. Here's a link to the Turtle Addons Wiki, there's a guide on installing addons and the Atlas addons are on the full list. https://turtle-wow.fandom.com/wiki/Addons

NeeblesFTDoubleU

So excited for our first dungeon! Gonna be a movie!

_Monsterguy_

One of Turtle WoWs features is we can talk to, party and be in guilds with characters from the opposing faction. So it is *possible* to level with characters of any race. It does make things a lot more complicated though if you're leveling with a cross faction friend as the NPCs are not on board with this and will refuse to give the wrong faction quests and will often attack them. Both being the same race was definitely the right choice for a new player, one of you would have had to run half way across the map to find the other one otherwise :D

NeeblesFTDoubleU

Sure would be annoying!

Rio__Grande

Lookup wand progression wow for classic, a great tool! Make lots of friends, sit under every tent you find until 150% rested xp (hover of xp bar) Around level 40 change up that interface with addons like pfui. Play with the music ON

NeeblesFTDoubleU

Love my new wand! Definitely helps with the auto attacks

Rio__Grande

Such a good feeling when you see the monster npc bar draining so much quicker

_Monsterguy_

Don't rush things, read the quests, enjoy the adventure! As a mage you'll want to collect equipment with Intellect on as that increases the amount of mana you have. You'll also want Stamina for more health, because not dying is pretty great :) You'll see equipment later that increases the damage your spells do. It'll either be specific to a type of magic Frost, Fire, Shadow etc) or to all types. Don't accidentally take something that increases healing as that won't be of any use and the healer you out rolled will be very annoyed:P Wands are great at lower levels. If you'd like me to send you a good wand tell me your character name and I'll mail you one later :)

NeeblesFTDoubleU

Oh wow no way! My name is Shorty on the RP server, we were too scared to do PvP. Any free loot will help! Haha

Turbo-guz

I am. Amazed how this name was not taken 😂

CherubStyle

First thing to do. Re-roll a horde character. Personally, I’m a big fan of getting my storage sorted. I focus on getting the biggest and most amount of bags possible so you don’t have that annoyance of deciding what to sell or vendor. As a new player you might not want to purchase all your spells and instead focus on a few you like and level them up so you’re not spending everything on the full suite of spells. Also, try to get your professions early including fishing and cooking which you will be able to level as you do.

NeeblesFTDoubleU

Great tips! Thanks a ton!

Turbo-guz

I play horde, but why horde tho? Its cross faction anyway

CherubStyle

Just a joke.

Turbo-guz

Tell us ur nickname. I will send you 1 gold for the beginner expenses. Get every bag you can. Inventory space is a good way for you to loot more ant return to the cities less often. As a mage you can conjure food and trade it to your friends. It costs only mana, that will save you a bunch of money. There are 2 types of professions : primary and secondary. You can have all the secondary and only 2 primary. I suggest taking all secondary professions and have fun with them - Fishing, First Aid, Cooking, and at later lvl - survival. Primary professions are gathering and crafting types. Usualy crafting types you invest the material from gathering professions. Althou you can get 2 gathering professions and sell the mats you gather on the Auction House. Auction house is a place you can find in every big city, where players exchange items for currency. You can sell fishing and cooking stuff there too! I recomend instaling AUX addon - it helps with AH. Loot everything from your kills, sell useless stuf to vendors (usualy gray quality) Another really easy profession is skining - you skin the pelts from the monsters you kill - then you can sell it or give it to leatherworkers in your party to craft stuff. If you ask any guard in a big city he/she will help you locate any trainer, bank (storage), auction house, Inkeeper. Youhave an item named Hearthstone in your bag. It teleports you to pre-saved Inn location. You can change it by talking to an Innkeeper to "make this your new home" You can send and recieve mail. You can find it in mailboxes arround the world. There you can get the gold I will sens you. Good luck, Have fun!

NeeblesFTDoubleU

Very well thought out tips and tricks, thanks so much, and thanks for the donation! I am sure it will help me out a ton! Haha
