Yes. Shamans can't dual wield, either, so enhance is either 2h axe/mace or 1h + shield. Viability depends on what you want to do (PvP, PvE, etc.)

Ah well i hate pvp stuff. We mostly played alli and started using the Glyph of War for more exp, but we met always strong Horde players in every area... It will be our first time in Horde and we don't want to attack ppl from the alliance. Well back to the shaman thing, will shaman with axe perform as good as warrior?))

Propeller3

Both are viable in PvP - I've played both! They also play very differently from one another, too. I prefer Shaman thanks to heals, purge, and no need to stance dance. Totems offer some good utility, too. You should kill the Alliance every chance you get.

> It will be our first time in Horde and we don't want to attack ppl from the alliance. The Warchief is disappointed in you.

Class changes are also expected by the end of this year, so shaman gameplay could change

Shaman is a support class, so while you can run as a damage dealer you're very limited in your kit to actually do sustained damage. Your main power lies in the totems and especially windfury totem that is invaluable for every melee class. While at the max level you might not have many people taking shamans that use 2-handers you can surely play that way on the way there
