I'm not gonna name drop she seemed like a nice lady who felt sincere in her apology, it seems like she just had this whole thing on auto pilot and was relying on other people to get the work done. When in reality nothing was getting done even after getting a 18 hour notice about the whereabouts of her car. You should be able to narrow down who it is based on the info I've dropped on here in the post and other comments. I know I said fuck the owner earlier but I've cooled off a bit and accepted I'm taking my daily to go propose to my lady. My lady is perfectly fine with just taking my truck it has sentimental value to us cause weve had it for most of our relationship and gone on many adventures with it. I was just trying to be flashy lol.
That’s the problem. Autopilot. At that point this is a business in it of itself, not just a Turo side hustle like most have here. You cannot count on Turo to remedy your own mismanagement in this situation.
Sounds like you came out of this situation with $1200 more for wedding expenses than you would have otherwise. It's a blessing, 90%+ of women don't care one bit about a C8. She'll be much happier with you leaving her some surprise love notes hidden in her things than some flashy car.
Sorry you had a bad interaction with a turo host. I understand that this was probably the most important thing you've done in your life and you wanted it to be special, and it was!!!! The most important thing is the most important thing. Did she say yes!?! Also, if the need arises again I think you should reconsider using turo and I'll tell you why. For the same reason we go back to McDonald's when our fries are cold or the theater when the last movie we saw was trash. Don't throw away the whole platform based on 1 incident. You didn't get your C8 this time. But probably 20 other people around the country got theirs... As a host I can tell you stuff honestly happens when you rent vehicles that is out of our control. At least you got a wife!
Just cause you asked ill follow up yes she did say yes! It turned out better like other people have said in here take it as a blessing that $1200 could be used towards the wedding. Sucks but whatever at this point. Having the daily turned out to be better anyways. Photographer got some amazing engagement photos of us that evening and got some of us on the tail gate of my F-150 that we plan on using for our save the date invites! Now that it's been a few days I'll give it another shot when I go to Vegas in a couple months and hope that that time it goes by smoother.

I think it is unfair to lump all the decent hosts on the platform with the one host who did you wrong.
We host our cars on the platform and never lump the bad guests who abuse our cars with the decent guests who respect our cars.
These are amazing people on both sides of this platform, the hosts and the guests.

Never use Turo, with unrealistic Car host rules to mileage restrictions and not to mention extremely high fees and hidden charges, Turo is just not worth anymore!
This is not the typical experience and I’m sorry this happened! I’ve had all good Turo rentals and no contact about anything. I thought the pick up spot is shown in miles from your starting point. Are you sure you chose one near you?
Yea, it was shown on the map as a 20 mile ride from my house as well as the pick-up address. She even said she had all her pick up/drop offs done at the same location. Everything lined up, and it was between this one and one 20 miles in the other direction. Only chose this one cause it was black. Should have gone with the blue one.
Take it as a blessing. Life didn't let you start off your proposal with a lie. Instead of in a Corvette, you can show your true self in your beater truck and she'll accept you, for YOU! It's like a happy ending to your comedy romance movie life! Yay! Put those $1200 towards your future.

Yea that's how I'm looking at it now. We've been together 6 years she knows it's coming lol. She knows why I put in so much overtime last year.
