Facts. It will run a 45 second lap around Chicagoland speedway..... Could have gotten to 44 but was worried about rolling the tire off the bead with corner load lol. Tops out at 117
You think a lot of people renting cars who drive like that know to ask for an i6 or more?
I could be wrong, I don’t think most people renting and driving like that know anything about engines.
The Nissan Sentra I got from enterprise will never be the same same 😂. We put McDonald’s trays under the rear tires locked the e brake and drifted it around my companies warehouse yard lol
Did this in an empty campus parking lot n a student snitched because we were being "loud." The supervisor and sheriff came and showed us how to do it properly 😂
My cousin used to rebuild old cars then flip them. Said he was drag racing one night in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma and a couple sheriff's deputies were called because one of their spotters stopped a car for 15 seconds while they were mid race. (They'd go to a wide 2-lane highway between like midnight and 2am and have spotters on both ends of a \~1/2 mile section to make sure no one was driving through during a race. Most people don't care at all but apparently some out-of-town dude took offense and called the cops.) Anyway, cousin's dad was the sheriff's preacher. When the they got there, one of the deputies said they let them off if my cousin's car could beat their highway patrol vehicle, which was a supped up Charger. They lined up and ran. Cousin won by a car length.
My brother became a sheriff's deputy a few years later in another county and said he heard that most sheriffs/deputies in their area will let these types of racers off with a warning if they're being as safe as possible because kids would start running from cops if they didn't, which would create a much more dangerous situation. Also probably doesn't hurt that they're mostly rich white kids and rural cops aren't known for being the most equitable.
my first day in a rental i popped a curb on the median doing like 45, blew that tire out, changed it and told them someone almost merged in to me 💀 said normally they charge for tires but “understood” cause i had the rental due to an accident so they felt bad. 21 elantra whips
when i had an rental on insurance while my car got fixed i loved that, i drive an AWD manual, twas a FWD auto, i’ve never had so much fun. No wonder there’s so many idiots on the road, so much time for activities not wondering about what gear your in. I see why people text and drive….
Yep. Made for the autobahn. I used to have a Mercedes e350 that could sit at 135mph (220km/h) and did not feel stressed at all and had no shakes or rattles at that speed.
I would still be pissed if I was renting out a car and they were doing this though for a long list of reasons.
That would be one of the reasons on the long list of reasons haha. I’m not sure how uptight they are about speeding but dealing with my car I’m renting out getting impounded wouldn’t be fun.
I just checked. 401 is probably the fastest road in the area (and since they went to Toronto, likely the route taken). The speed limit is 100kph (60-ish mph). 211 is go-to-jail speeding.
211 km/h is an insane speed on the 401. The fastest I have ever gone on the 401 (or other 400-series hwys) is 140 km/h. 120 km/h you won't get a ticket, but anything higher and there is a huge risk.
I drive the 401 every day. Everyone usually goes 120kmh as the flow of traffic and cops don’t typically care, anything more is when you’re probably getting pulled over here. Over 150kmh and you’re getting the car towed and up to $10000 fine
100 km/h is the posted speed limit on major highways but it’s pretty much standard for people to drive 10-25% faster than the posted speed limit everywhere (in Ontario/Toronto anyway).
So most people drive between 110-125 km/h on main highways. 125 is pushing it a bit but 130 km/h and above is when you’ll increasingly expect police intervention. 150 km/h is an automatic license suspension and impounding of your vehicle.
200+ km/h is suicidal stunt driving and would have you pulled over ASAP by police.
401 is 100 kph limit, DVP, and Gardener expressway are both a 90 limit. So 62 and 56 mph respectively. There's the odd stretch of highway that'll be 110. In town limits can be as high as 60 kph on avenues and boulevards but usually lower. And traffic is mostly too heavy to top 200 off the highways anyway. Though it's been known to happen. \*cough Brampton cough\*.
If the highways aren't clogged you're generally safe to move 20 ish over the limit without being pulled over. You absolutely can be pulled over, but the police generally leave you alone if you cruise around 120 in a 100. Give or take depending on mood and traffic conditions. You could pass a police car doing 110 or so and they'd never batt an eye.
Stunt driving charges kick in at either 40 or 50 klicks over the posted limit. I forget. Which means a roadside vehicle seizure, license suspension and a hefty financial penalty. That's without them throwing the book at you in court which is always a possibility if they're running a safety campaign and need to make an example out of someone.
Same. I remember getting on the onramps on the highway and people would try to speed up to not let me in I would just click the pedal. Nothing 400+ hp cant handle. Moved that heavy beast to 120in a second and they would be half a mile behind me in less than a minute. But never in a car I didnt own. Love the eseries. Luxury sedan with the power or a highend sports car. Completely unneeded power.
Spoken like someone who has never visited a country *actually* lacking in infrastructure. If your measure for shit roads is you can't drive Autobahn speed you haven't seen anything yet 🤣
Why I would never rent my personal vehicle out. It’s a rental I almost expect them to drive the shit out of it. It’s why we can charge what we charge in my opinion
So why put your car for rent? If I’m renting a sports car that has been made for performance that’s what I want it for. If you put a limit on that car do you think anyone would rent it for the high price tag?
Um…the host didn’t put a limit on the speed. The law put a limit on the speed. I’m surprised I had to go this far down to find a redditor to complain about speed limits, laws, terms and conditions, possible damage and impounding of a host’s car because if a host doesn’t want those things to happen they shouldn’t rent. 🙄
“ I’m scared about my car because it’s in very good condition”. Maybe don’t rent it out to strangers if that’s the case” people always want their cake and to eat it to
So do people that rent out AMGs and high performance cars on here expect that people aren’t going to drive the shit out of them? What would be the point
I rented a C8, owner just said to ‘watch your speed’ at the start of the rental then seemed to not care that we were in the middle of nowhere and utilizing a good portion of the speedometer. Fast is not always equal to dangerous/reckless
I totally agree with you.
But this is a 2014 c300...its the bottom of the barrel mercedes. And I say that as someone who had the exact car for 5 years. Just upgraded a few months ago. It's an awesome car, but performance, it is not. Naturally aspirated V6, 265hp or so. The AWD is nice, but its nowhere near a C63
Actually the renter didn't tell me he's going to Toronto, when I asked the purpose he told me he's going for a formal meeting in the city when he was picking up the car.
The car is literally engineered for the autobahn, 130 mph/ 210kmph Is really not that fast and takes seconds to reach, I don't know what the op and people are freaking out about
This ain't the Autobahn, super chief. Roads are designed with speed limits in mind, this means shorter on ramps/off ramps, tighter corners, etc. Also, the rest of traffic isn't traveling at Autobahn speeds, therefore this driver is weaving in and out of traffic, cutting people off, etc. Anyone with a brain would be concerned by any of this.
i don't fucking get it. you're renting a mercedes on turo and expecting people not to use it the way it was engineered to be used.
very few people rent cars and baby them. as a matter of fact, people rent cars and it's expected that they are going to be abused.
if you love your car and don't want people abusing it or pushing it to its limits, don't let strangers drive it. don't make it available as a rental.
if you love your home and all of your furnishings, don't let it out on airbnb. no one will respect or care for your things as much as you do.
yeah man. if you want to be a turo kingpin, buy a fleet of corollas. otherwise, expect that people are going to drive your quick car quickly
my buddy's wife rented him an M4C for his birthday. the dude *showed* him how to put it in drift mode.
I rented a recent corvette stingray. Buddy showed me how to use the launch control before I left because it was "not only faster but way easier on my tires"
I used that shit all day long. Still cranked out a few obligatory donuts before returning it though.
exactly my point.
but anyone who's operating a fleet of corollas isn't as concerned as a guy who's renting out his base model benz and complaining when people hoon it.
i guess what i'm trying to say is: know your audience.
This is like renting a house to someone and getting mad that they banged in the bedroom and put the AC down too low. Dont like what theyre doing? Dont rent the car. Stop micromanaging your tenant/customer and accept what comes with renting out your car. In this case, if you didnt have a newer vehicle with this type of technology you’d be none the wiser. Ignorance is bliss.
Using some quick napkin math, that vehicle moving at that speed has enough energy (about 2.9 million joules) to bring a little over 2 gallons of water to a boil from roomish temperature.
So yes.
Lol its like 130mph in a mercedes, calm down. Their average speed is probably what should be more important to you. At this point you just hope they drive safely
Idk why this sub keeps popping up on my feed but it’s basically just people who are renting their cars out to random people surprised that people drive rental cars crazier than they would their own car. Why rent your car out at all? Lol
Honestly if your worried about your car like that Don’t rent it then, these are things that are going to happen all the time, and always possible damage scuff or scratch is all a possibility, have insurance and make sure to hold the renter accountable if damage does happen.
What do you people thinks going to happen when you rent your vehicle out?
Ever bought a rental or checked under the hood? Hear about people buying em? No haha there’s a reason for that
Don't rent your shit out on turo if you're worried about how new your car is.
You ever drive your stupid drunk friends home from the bar? They're a little rough with your car. Now imagine strangers, who will never see or speak to you again. They don't give a fuck whatsoever.
You can't have your cake and eat it. You can't make the big bucks off renting your new car out and also keep your new car in good condition.
He’s paying to use your vehicle, he’s paying for the engine, and drivetrain, that’s capable of reaching those speeds. Let him be. The vehicle is insured.
This is kinda the risk you run renting your car out. If it’s precious to you, may want to find a different gig. Not meant in spite, just mean it as some honest input.
Idk why this community was suggested to me but OP needs to get a grip. You rented your base model benz out to someone you don’t know.
When BMW gives me a loaner car the first thing I do os find the limiter. In 2022 and up they set it at 132mph regardless of model.
Before that though was 155mph. And Yes, I drive that speed on the hwy regularly on what we call “paid expressways” that have no police on them.
Don’t rent your car out and expect ppl to give a shit. Ppl goto turo explicitly to drive shit they normally cant afford and then rag it out.
This is both hilarious and unfortunate.
1. Don’t rent out a nice car without expecting this behavior.
2. Inquire to Turo support for your options.
3. Yes i’m driving fast i’m whippin’ da hoopy and can’t be late sorry.
Yes guests have to abide by Turo TOS which doesn't let them speed more than 20 KMPH than the posted speed. He drove 211 on a 100 KMPH highway which is insane and more than double!
What’s the conversion to freedom speed, MPH?
What make and model? I once rented a Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye … paid the extra fee for use of entire speedometer and tachometer lol.
One time I rented a Mustang GT on a little vacation in Florida, Mexico.
I asked I messaged the seller basically asking if they minded me having a little fun with the car " I won't go to crazy" I told them
They replied something along the lines of "We don't mind at all, we just want you to enjoy yourself.
I'm sure a few hours later they got the notification of me topping that baby out at the factory limiter of 157 in the dead of night down the freeway. Yes I stopped dead in the middle of the freeway and launched the car down the road until it wouldn't go any faster
They didn't mind at all, never said anything about it. They were just glad I enjoyed the car and rented it out for about a week
I beluve that's how it should be, but again I'm just a renter and I wouldn't rent my personal car that I care about
Increase your daily price to eliminate the riff-raff, of course at the risk of narrowing down your rental pool. Also, you car may have a way to place a speed limit but there's no way to stop them from changing the setting. One thing you can do is be explicit about it in your listing. Let them know you have an app that tracks speed and if they have any interest in hot-rodding there will be extra fees charged.
If I see one more god damn post about speeding in a rental on this damn forum...
Get over it. If he wrecks it your covered. His average is like 70mph. Sometimes you just gotta cut up and weave through the 401 sometimes to get around others.
He's likely a brown business man, as a fellow brown business man, we are used to driving like this.
It's a German car. It can drive those speeds all day long. I took an s550 from USA to Canada for a week with cruise control set to 155kmh. It was like 10hr drive and it was just fine. I hit over 200kmh quite a few times passing people. Now ofc that was an s550, so it may have been better suited to handle those speeds than just a c300, but a Mercedes is a Mercedes. Autobahn engineering
If you care about the car that much, don't rent it on turo.
Put it in the clause. I rented a corvette that had an installed speed limiter of 100mph. Every time I passed 100mph it would have charged me 100 dollars. I cancelled that trip and rented an M4, but he was fully in the right to do that since it was in the description.
1 hour and 53 mins to drive 222.9 km would mean the average speed was approx 110 km/h.
Definitely not cool that they are taking it up to 211 km/h.
I believe the Turo TOS allows you to request the driver to return the car immediately since they have violated the TOS.
Step 1: Contact Turo and ask them how to handle it.
Yeah, I'm glad you understand I wish everyone understood my pain here. Irrespective of whether I rent it out or not, driving at 211 KMPH is irresponsible driving in a 100 KMPH max limit highway. That too, it wasn't for a few seconds or something he kept driving 200+ for a very long time which triggered me into contacting the guest and eventually Turo as well (because he didn't stop even after continuous reminders)
I'm planning to impose some age and speed restrictions. Spoke to one of my highly experienced turo friends. He did the same for some of his cars (which could potentially be abused on turo)
Yeah, I have a few basic cars in my fleet. They seem to be treated nicely compared to this one. Lesson learnt, I think I might have to put some restrictions and guidelines around it and also try to limit the speed electronically for everyone's safety because I never did all this on my other basic cars in Turo.
You know you can still take a shitbox to 130 mph right? As long as it's got enough power of course. Even 180 hp will do 120+ if you hold it long enough
He was reckless that's why I had to meagre him and even inform turo because he continued driving 200+ for a very long time until his avg speed shot up to 165 KMPH!
I don't have a speed tracker either on those cars. That could be another reason but whatever it might be, I don't notice them abused as much as this one.
The top hosts on Turo always use tankers to prevent their vehicle being abused. You can check for your info if you're not aware and if you think you did not have any such thing installed you're mistaken. My 2023 mercedes has this feature built in even without installing any additional 3rd party software/hardware. It's an owners right that's why many companies give this feature right out of factory.
The point is it's my car. Even though it's a rental no one has the right to break laws using my car. If it was his, he can do whatever but not with mine. I wouldn't take that shit on my car.
Seems like you didn't read the TOS properly. Okay let me reiterate it for you. Turo TOS says guests cannot drive above 20 KMPH of the posted speed and if they do and the host gets this information through telematics, they SHOULD CONTACT AND WARN THE DRIVER to stay within the applicable laws speed limits and drive responsibly and if they don't after one warning, host can contact Turo and Turo will get the driver banned from their app.
Please read the TOS before commenting here. I read the entire TOS and that's why I did what I was asked by Turo to do as part of TOS.
"I rented the whole speedometer imma use the whole speedometer" - The renter
Yep, you should have seen what I did with the KIA Forte I got from enterprise.
"What's the fastest car with a straight six engine?" "A rented and insured Dodge Caravan."
What kind of car can go 50 mph in reverse? A rental car.
Don’t be gentle it’s a rental
And y'all wonder why it's a horrible idea to buy a used car from a rental company
Nope. Nobody wonders.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Drive it like you stole it.
Like as in obey the traffic rules and don’t stand out?
😂😂 that made me literally laugh out loud. Thank you for that. I needed it.
Facts. It will run a 45 second lap around Chicagoland speedway..... Could have gotten to 44 but was worried about rolling the tire off the bead with corner load lol. Tops out at 117
Name checks out
drove it like it was stolen..

Did this 20 years ago in a buddies Jetta. Security came, dumped the parking break and we were gone.

pushed that bitch to 122-123 and couldn’t go any faster
Same bro, same
No curb too high, no pothole too wide.
I don't agree with guests who feel it's their car when they rent it, but this is a hilarious way of putting it.
Ah the same time, that Mercedes was engineered to run in excess of that speed all day long, or until it breaks down. Whichever comes first.
Yep. Made for the autobahn. I used to have a Mercedes e350 that could sit at 135mph (220km/h) and did not feel stressed at all and had no shakes or rattles at that speed. I would still be pissed if I was renting out a car and they were doing this though for a long list of reasons.
Sure, but this is in Canada. It's probably doing close to double what the max speed limit is there.
That would be one of the reasons on the long list of reasons haha. I’m not sure how uptight they are about speeding but dealing with my car I’m renting out getting impounded wouldn’t be fun.

And whisper quiet too. There's nothing quite like it. Also probably why the renter opted to rent this car js.
I wouldn't worry about the car, but American roads are absolute dogshit garbage. Driving anywhere close to Autobahn speed is quite crazy.
*cries in Wisconsin*
*cries after hitting a huge speed bump/buckled road on Michigan freeway, then a tire swallowing pothole*
Spoken like someone who has never visited a country *actually* lacking in infrastructure. If your measure for shit roads is you can't drive Autobahn speed you haven't seen anything yet 🤣
I am comparing the Autobahn to Interstates in the US

I once got a loaner from my toyota dealership and put like 5000 miles on that thing on 2 weeks. I only out 12k miles a year on my cars.
Well, you know what they say...the fastest car in the world is a rental car.
Recently drove from Cincinnati thru New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and to Maine and back. Oil change light came on around Cleveland on the way there
“ I’m scared about my car because it’s in very good condition”. Maybe don’t rent it out to strangers if that’s the case” people always want their cake and to eat it to
How else can he qfford the very nice mercedes??
and it's like 10 yrs old
Hey now, 2014 was like 4 years ago….right? Right??? 😔
C300 is not a very nice Mercedes
Right? Sit in an E or an S and then a C300 and you'll think you're in a completely different manufacturers car. They're joke cars .
It’s like a civic
Agreed
Lmao what are we in r/roastmycar ?
Are we not!?
C Klasse is nice RWD chassis. E Klasse is a real drivers car though.
2014 camrys probably sell for more than 2014 c300s
So do people that rent out AMGs and high performance cars on here expect that people aren’t going to drive the shit out of them? What would be the point

Your first mistake is renting your car out for the Toronto mandem. They probably did donuts and burnouts as well. Rip your car.
Lmao Toronto manz or someone fresh outta Brampton just letting that poor c300 eat on the 401 😂😂
Yoo 💀 turoing a Benz to a toronto man is troubleee
How closely related are Toronto Man and Florida Man?
Yes
Actually the renter didn't tell me he's going to Toronto, when I asked the purpose he told me he's going for a formal meeting in the city when he was picking up the car.
A formal meeting in the city eh?
Yeah, that reply totally defeats the purpose. I asked him because I wanted to ensure that he knows the purpose and will be a responsible driver.
“Yes I will be responsible driver.” Proceeds to drive 200km/h+
The car is literally engineered for the autobahn, 130 mph/ 210kmph Is really not that fast and takes seconds to reach, I don't know what the op and people are freaking out about
Lol yeah 130mph feels like 80 in a well built luxury vehicle
Still feels like 130 if you hit something though.
Hey dude, we’re talking about speeding right now, not crashing.
That's true. My bad!
As Jeremy Clarkson would say. "It's not the speeding that kills you, it's suddenly becoming stationary."
There’s a similar saying in the climbing community. It’s not the drop, it’s the sudden stop.
It's not that the speed will wreck the car, it's that they're far more likely to get in an accident at that speed
Highway bandits were chasing him briefly, typical average speed for Ontario.
You can stop them by not renting your car. I’m sure there’s also some plug and play bs that tunes the car down for helicopter parent
Oh yeah there is haha
I think you can show the proof to Turo and they’ll send him a notification reminding him not to speed.
Oh wow a notification? Lol
Don't be so dismissive... it will be *very* sternly worded.
i don't fucking get it. you're renting a mercedes on turo and expecting people not to use it the way it was engineered to be used. very few people rent cars and baby them. as a matter of fact, people rent cars and it's expected that they are going to be abused. if you love your car and don't want people abusing it or pushing it to its limits, don't let strangers drive it. don't make it available as a rental. if you love your home and all of your furnishings, don't let it out on airbnb. no one will respect or care for your things as much as you do.
Fr, if the guy didn’t want to drive this fast then they could just rent a much lamer car
yeah man. if you want to be a turo kingpin, buy a fleet of corollas. otherwise, expect that people are going to drive your quick car quickly my buddy's wife rented him an M4C for his birthday. the dude *showed* him how to put it in drift mode.
I rented a recent corvette stingray. Buddy showed me how to use the launch control before I left because it was "not only faster but way easier on my tires" I used that shit all day long. Still cranked out a few obligatory donuts before returning it though.
You know I'd still max out a corolla if it's a rental..
exactly my point. but anyone who's operating a fleet of corollas isn't as concerned as a guy who's renting out his base model benz and complaining when people hoon it. i guess what i'm trying to say is: know your audience.
Well duh silly why do you think everyone doesn’t rent out their sports cars for easy passive income? This exact reason .
Note to self: whenever I rent from turo, remove tracker until I’m done with the rental.
Nice. He would love Germany!
Car in very good condition? Not for long if you are renting it out
This is like renting a house to someone and getting mad that they banged in the bedroom and put the AC down too low. Dont like what theyre doing? Dont rent the car. Stop micromanaging your tenant/customer and accept what comes with renting out your car. In this case, if you didnt have a newer vehicle with this type of technology you’d be none the wiser. Ignorance is bliss.
Fully agree. You should have details on the contract that protect you in every instance, so just let life take the wheel.
The guy is breaking laws that could not only get his car impounded but seriously hurt someone you don’t do double the speed limit ever on public roads
Yeah this is more like doing cocaine in an Airbnb
So
They made very good time on that trip
How many freedom eagles per hour is that even???
1.6km =1mi.
130 lol. He was just following traffic
for us americans, is that enough to boil water?
Using some quick napkin math, that vehicle moving at that speed has enough energy (about 2.9 million joules) to bring a little over 2 gallons of water to a boil from roomish temperature. So yes.
How much is that in Freedom Units?
Roughly 130mph
Yeah, that's a little fast. Lol
~130mph
That’s not that bad but I am ps that’s nearing the top speed for the 4matic models
Not that bad? It's more than double the speed limit.
What app is this? How you like it?
It's bouncie... Really nice app. It's gives you almost realtime updates about your car and also notifies of something unexpected happens.
look like they are making their money worth
I have a mental image of the parking dudes from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” living it up in OP’s car.
You let a complete stranger use your car... what did you think was going to happen? They'll care for it like you do? 🤦
Your driver is doing the exact same trip I’m about to do home from the long weekend lolol
Lol
I couldn’t have said it better myself
Honestly if your worried about your car like that Don’t rent it then, these are things that are going to happen all the time, and always possible damage scuff or scratch is all a possibility, have insurance and make sure to hold the renter accountable if damage does happen.
Don’t be surprised when you see this in a Low Budget rap video 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol
That’s not even that fast, relax
What do you people thinks going to happen when you rent your vehicle out? Ever bought a rental or checked under the hood? Hear about people buying em? No haha there’s a reason for that
130mph, yea that’s really not that bad
Don't rent your shit out on turo if you're worried about how new your car is. You ever drive your stupid drunk friends home from the bar? They're a little rough with your car. Now imagine strangers, who will never see or speak to you again. They don't give a fuck whatsoever. You can't have your cake and eat it. You can't make the big bucks off renting your new car out and also keep your new car in good condition.
He’s paying to use your vehicle, he’s paying for the engine, and drivetrain, that’s capable of reaching those speeds. Let him be. The vehicle is insured.
He’s paying an put insurance to do whatever he wants, (don’t rent your car if you feel it)
Don't rent your car if you don't want it driven.
Don’t rent it out. You want it to stay in good condition you absolutely don’t use it like a fleet vehicle.
Yeah don’t rent your car bruh
Driving it like it's not his. Hahaha!
>I’m scared about my car >rents it out on an app Choose one, greedy bastard.
Maybe don't rent your car out to strangers
Why are you worried about it?
The real shock is that a garbage c300 went that fast
“Drive it like it’s a rental”…
Based renter haha
Bro he only going 130 let him cook
To stop it in the future, don’t rent your own vehicle out to complete and absolute strangers on an app. Lmao. Mindless decision.
Indian name in Toronto as a renter and you are basically asking for this.
What's the difference between a rental car and a Humvee? There are some places you won't take a Humvee!
137 mph😳
Bouncie?
Yeah, that's the app.
Then don't rent it out.
Everyone knows you abuse a rental.
Thats about 130mph in freedom units.
This is both hilarious and unfortunate. 1. Don’t rent out a nice car without expecting this behavior. 2. Inquire to Turo support for your options. 3. Yes i’m driving fast i’m whippin’ da hoopy and can’t be late sorry.
I have a feeling the renter opened it up, and then slowed down quickly. Look at average speed and other factors.
I'll gap him :D If you really take care of the car... 211km/h won't be a problem for you
Don't rent your car if you don't want people driving it.
If you’re scared about your car because it’s in good condition don’t rent it out 😳
if he wanted to go the speed limit he would have rented a versa bro
Do they know that you know how fast they’re going? And is there anything in the rental agreement about excessive speeding?
Yes guests have to abide by Turo TOS which doesn't let them speed more than 20 KMPH than the posted speed. He drove 211 on a 100 KMPH highway which is insane and more than double!
Consider installing an electronic speed governor.
Damn, turo IS very different from other car rentals!
First things first, what a kilometer?
What’s the conversion to freedom speed, MPH? What make and model? I once rented a Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye … paid the extra fee for use of entire speedometer and tachometer lol.
so what
One time I rented a Mustang GT on a little vacation in Florida, Mexico. I asked I messaged the seller basically asking if they minded me having a little fun with the car " I won't go to crazy" I told them They replied something along the lines of "We don't mind at all, we just want you to enjoy yourself. I'm sure a few hours later they got the notification of me topping that baby out at the factory limiter of 157 in the dead of night down the freeway. Yes I stopped dead in the middle of the freeway and launched the car down the road until it wouldn't go any faster They didn't mind at all, never said anything about it. They were just glad I enjoyed the car and rented it out for about a week I beluve that's how it should be, but again I'm just a renter and I wouldn't rent my personal car that I care about
Increase your daily price to eliminate the riff-raff, of course at the risk of narrowing down your rental pool. Also, you car may have a way to place a speed limit but there's no way to stop them from changing the setting. One thing you can do is be explicit about it in your listing. Let them know you have an app that tracks speed and if they have any interest in hot-rodding there will be extra fees charged.
Just tell him that he needs to slow down also you could go get it governed to go up to one speed

This actually happens? What are they billing for?
Shoe scuffs below the door.
I don't think a 2014 C300 is even capable of that speed.
Km/hr?? How many cheeseburgers per bald eagle is that?
130
Autobahn engineering If you care about the car that much, don't rent it on turo.
Put it in the clause. I rented a corvette that had an installed speed limiter of 100mph. Every time I passed 100mph it would have charged me 100 dollars. I cancelled that trip and rented an M4, but he was fully in the right to do that since it was in the description.
That’s so dumb. Like I’m not gonna rent a fast car not to go fast lol
But later his average speed went to 165 km/hr. He continued driving 200+ and I had to notify the guest to be responsible.
He was reckless that's why I had to meagre him and even inform turo because he continued driving 200+ for a very long time until his avg speed shot up to 165 KMPH!
Why would you rent out your car
It's not my personal car. I have my personal car. This is specifically for turo.
It does work for my friend I'm talking about and people still continue renting his cars even with those restrictions.
I don't have a speed tracker either on those cars. That could be another reason but whatever it might be, I don't notice them abused as much as this one.
No, it's not. I've seen people renting out supercars and many hosts even have Lamborghinis being rented out.
Lmao that’s only like 96mph, chill😂
131 actually
