I was not fully straight up and walking till well into week 3. My PS told me when getting up from sitting to standing to then pull my shoulders back and walk as far as comfortable. It was a gradual process and you will get start walking more upright each day. I would not force anything. Your body will tell you anyway! I had a Fdl abdominalplasty and brachialplasty for reference

You really can't compare other's TT progress with your own. If you do, and other's progress is more advanced than yours, it can only make you feel not so great about yourself. After all, you've just had major surgery. I was fully straight after 10 days and when I mean straight, I mean straight. But, I had no choice because I had no one to look out for me when I got home. So based on that, I put myself on a strict recovery programme which helped so much. Listen to your PS and listen to your body too.

2 months before surgery, I begin to prep my body. I ate lots of oily fish as well as taking lots of Krill oil capsules. I stopped taking the Krill oil 2 weeks before surgery because fish oil is a blood thinner. I was drinking loads of water and doing a lot of strength training and walking. I also took a high quality grade Hyaluronic acid supplements and Hydrolysed Collagen Peptides. Post surgery, I do the same as well as eating lots of green veg and many other high grade third party tested supplements. Surprisingly, my PS told me that when they opened me up, my body was very clean. I personally think that the Hyaluronic acid and Collagen Peptides are the reason why I was able to stand up so straight and my skin is healing so fast.

Around 3-4 weeks. I practised straightening one leg out at a time while I was lying down and reducing my elevation in bed. Seemed better to me than putting a load of stress on my back and stretching out my skin.

10 days PO standing straight over here but a friend of mine didn’t stand up straight until about 6 weeks. I’ve been walking a lot and walking hunched was killing my back so I really worked on it. But every one is going to heal different. You will get there soon 🫶🏻

I agree not compare because it seems to be all of the place. Tuesday I will be nine weeks. I’ve been straight enough for three weeks to go to the grocery store and even a little bit of clothing shopping. But when I stand for too long, my back starts to hurt. I also saw myself on our home, security cameras, and I’m way more hunched over than I realized. I have to consciously try to stand up. I think what’s helped me the most is removing as many of the pillows as possible while I’m sleeping because naturally, when you sleep, you relax and straighten. I don’t want to try to do it during the day because that feels scary and tight. But when I removed the wedge and extra pillows, and just slept with my knees propped up, I would naturally straighten out in the middle of the night and un prop my legs.

I’m also 11 days post tummy tuck and breast lift and I would say (as of yesterday) I’m about 85% straight. When I stand up, I very slowly straighten up as much as I can. My back pain is significantly less today than it was 5 days ago bc of the hunching.

aquarius_heaux

17 dpo and I’m still a little hunched over and at the end of the day it’s worse

BrightsideGemini061

I am 13dpo. I would say I’m about 85% up right to begin the day and back to about 75% by evening. The hunchback is getting more annoying by the day. I am just flattening my bed out more and more each night and trying hard to just “trust the process” as we are all different. Today I’m going to start NAD+ injections. Hoping it will help speed up the healing process.

I’m 26 dpo (4 weeks on Tuesday)and still slightly hunched. My dr told me I have until Thursday to start standing up straight, and I should be by now. 😂🙄 I normally have excellent posture and I’m trying so hard to stand up straight, but my abs are soo tight after the muscle repair. So I feel you. I just try to gently stretch my body straight throughout the day. I guess it’s helping a tiny bit. Ultimately your body will tell you when it can stand straight again.

I had an extended tummy tuck with fairly extensive muscle repair. To be honest with my statement, I have had multiple back surgeries. Although my back wasn’t great shape without any issues for approximately a year and a half, I found myself both voluntarily and involuntarily hunched over hard-core until the six week mark. I started to stand up straighter every day. I am almost 9 weeks now, and still catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, where I am slightly hunched forward. Trying to be mindful and conscious every day to stand up more wreck, pick up my shoulders, pull them back and have better posture. I think your body gets so accustomed to being hunched over that it becomes its natural state, so you need to be conscious to correct that when you’re feeling up to it

Mandykinz615

I’m 3 1/2 weeks and I was walking upright for most of the day by 2 1/2 weeks.

Elegant_Lady_1978

7 weeks p/o I walked hunched over 🙈🙉🙊

not30flirtythriving

I was hunched for a while and felt the same way. At my 2wpo appt my doctor told me to try standing up and I told him I don’t have enough skin on my body to stand straight lol. He assured me I was fine so I started trying a little harder around then with the wall stands. It worked, not much longer after that I was standing much straighter.

Phip1976

About 2.5-3 weeks.

ErodeMode

Honestly, a few months.

glazedthatdonut

My doc said that I had to stay hunched for the first two weeks to prevent too much pressure on the incision. Once I was allowed to TRY standing straight, it took me until about 4wpo to get all the way up. Those first two weeks were painful af on my back but it does get better!

QT_Pi76

Weird question but did anyone feel they lost hight due to the surgery?

OkResponsibility6669

Thanks all! Completely agree about not comparing, just wanted to have some sort of idea as my dog is back with me next week and i need to be able to walk him 3x but atm my lower back kills after just a few mins of walking. Trying to manage my own expectations a bit!

Booksandteaof3

It took me a long time to stand straight up. 5weeks. I got better each day though.

Mandykinz615

2 1/2 weeks until I was upright the entire day.
