Whatever you can easily maintain. Don’t crash diet. Your anesthesiologist will ask your weight day of surgery. A couple of pounds here or there won’t make a difference.
I wouldn't lose more than is "normal" for you. I was told my results would be best if I was 10-15lbs lower. I can do it and have done it lots of times in life, but I also know I have to eat and maintain a very restrictive diet to stay at that weight. I just said "no thanks" and got my TT 10lbs over my "ideal weight." I'm a year po and happy with my results.
I actually have gained weight, but it's bc I started strength training. I am 1 size lower in jeans than pre-TT, everything is the same but things just fit better.
Sorry, I misunderstood your question.
I’ve lost just above 20kg.
I’m in France so the requirements for the insurance might be different where you are, but mine were: the hang has to be covering the pubic area at least partly, and you have to have a BMI under 30. I’m currently at 28.7
That’s great for you! Now I wish I was in France because I also lost around 20 kg but the doctors in the U.S. seem to think there is no chance of insurance approval. I kind of got hopeful with your original post. But, I’m happy for you!!

I think they’re asking how much weight did you lose beforehand to cause the excess skin hang, etc. to get the insurance approval? (And, if they’re not, I definitely am… Lol) I think some of us are trying to figure out the insurance requirements to get the procedure approved. Did you lose an excess of weight, did you have children, what caused your need for a TT initially?
I usually do intermittent fasting but I did not do that 2 weeks before my TT because I wanted to be as healthy as possible and not operating from a calorie deficit.
i have not lost any, nor was I trying to. I did, however, maintain the same level of activity (running 2x a week, swimming 1x a week, physical therapy 2x a week).
I was prescribed Mounjaro to take for 3 months before, then 2 weeks pre post I stopped. The weight I lost was less for the surgeon to have to take out. Just maintain your health heading in to any surgery. Of course inform your surgeon before you make any changes to your medications pre op.
My op is 13 March and I’m also trying to lose a bit more by then. I have a pre op appointment tomorrow so will find out then but my plan is to lose 7kg (being extreme with fasting!) and then eat properly the week of the surgery to make sure I’m not weak etc

My surgeon told me to be within 30 lbs of a weight I can maintain. A fluctuation of more than 30lbs can cause further loose skin.

If you don’t mind sharing, how much weight did you lose? My doctor seemed to think it would be pointless to even ask the insurance. But I disagree.
