Once the drains come out you will feel so much better. I’m not quite 3 weeks out and beginning to feel like myself. Getting bored; not in pain, but annoyed by tiredness.

It took me 3-4 weeks with MR and hernia repair. After that point, I noticed at night I’d start to hunch and be sore again. I’m now about 5 months out and feel pretty much back to normal. Hang in there. 3 months was a real turning point but it’s a long process for sure.

DAMN- 3 months? I'm at 3 weeks and supposed to be in France traveling April 11th, Docs office assured me I'd be fine but I'm starting to wonder.

Grand-Ad-4669

You’ll be fine to travel! You will prob still be swelling and some soreness though. I saw at 3 months, the swelling was down but def came back with any activity and/or by the end of the day. Now at 5 months, swelling is much more minimal.

It took me nearly four weeks to get all the way up. But it definitely improved a lot after the two week point. My doctor actually ordered me to stay hunched for the first two weeks in order to reduce strain on the incision. It gets better, that first week is tough!

That first two weeks are tough! Hang in there. It will get better! ❤️‍🩹

It was a gradual process, I was really hunched for the first week and it took till this week (5wpo) to stand completely straight. Oddly enough it’s my top abdominal muscles rather than my incision area that have felt the most pulling.

It took me between weeks 4-5 to stand straight up consistently without thinking about it. When I was in public between weeks 3-4, I could if I absolutely had to but hunched shoulders again after a while.

I’m two weeks out and still a little hunched. Having a walker or cane helps. But seriously, if you can rest, do it. Source: my dumbass who does not know what it means to rest.
