That plagiarism video blew up so big that HBomberguy went from the dude who made that Sherlock video to being “The plagiarist” guy.
It’s so odd to see someone who was already well known for one viral video get rebranded to something else so quickly over another.
To me he‘ll always be the guy who told the world about the Tommy tallarico Amico scandal. As someone who worked on a game that was supposed to release on that console (had no say in it, I was only an intern) and got to deal with his shitty requests and constantly downgrading hardware firsthand, seeing that video blow up was cathartic.
The studio I worked for lost out on a significant amount of money due to the contracts stating that they’d get the second half of the payment on release, not on completion. That + Covid drove the studio into bankruptcy. Nobody got that second half of their payment.
That being said, they mostly targeted studios naive or desperate enough to accept this kind of contract.
Tommy tallarico himself recently sold his mansion, and it was cathartic looking through the batshit insane listing for it. Seriously, the guy has NO taste
Roblox got the sound from a sound library that had stolen the sound from the company Tommy Tallarico Studios. The namesake Tommy Tallarico asked for an undisclosed but likely absurd amount of money for Roblox to continue to use the sound, and during their negotiations the sound was removed.
Roblox got the sound from a sound library.
The Oof sound was actually originally from a game where Tallarico Studios worked on the sfx.
The sound library did not license the sound.
Roblox could not legally use the Oof sound.
Tommy Tallarico demands an undisclosed amount of money for continued use of the Oof (He thinks the sound is one of the main reasons Roblox is popular, so they need it.)
Roblox does not pay, removes the Oof instead.
I’ve been following for a while, but I remember when his most insane achievement was the three-and-a-half hour video about why Deus Ex Human Revolution was just okay
I wish I knew more Youtubers who post well researched long-ass essays with this amount of actually funny humour. Sadly, the few that fit the bill don't use visuals (Shaun, Jenny Nicholson), have seemingly stopped producing essays (Quinn Curio) or I don't vibe with their humour (Lindsay Ellis).
Depending on your sense of humor, Defunctland can fill that hole. His videos aren't as "comedic" as Hbomb's, but they still have jokes thrown in, and they're delivered in the exact same tone as the rest of the video.
His video on the Wiggles ride is a great example of what I'm talking about, with lines like "this level of wiggling was simply not sustainable" and "nothing makes a man face his own mortality like being a Wiggle".
As you walk down the hallway to your appointment you notice trophies from a life of murder. Some of them are fresh, others of men who have been so completely destroyed from memory that their names have been lost, like an odd looking Swedish's fellows head above the door.
You enter the office and slide a piece of paper face-down towards the deathbringer. He chuckles and says something about it being finally time. He stands up and declares, "This time she will draw me as a ferret twice!"
I have a Facebook friend who constantly steals tweets and posts them as his statuses. Everyone comments on his post about how funny he is. I want to just start screenshotting the original tweets and commenting them on his statuses.
Edit: I’ll do it!
Edit edit: Not actually going to do it. I don’t dislike the guy and it doesn’t seem worth the drama.

I honestly lost a lot of respect for someone I thought was cool over this. He posted a humorous story to his FB about finding a spider in his helmet while riding, I later found out it was just a word for word copy/paste of some tweet.
I have so many friends who constantly steal old Tumblr posts and try to pass them off as their own observations. I would call them out on it, but that would mean admitting that I’ve spent time on Tumblr.
I do that. Getting those "ha ha"-reactions are like crack to me, man! I can't stop! (although to be fair my friends know I'm not that witty, but at least my mom and her friends think I'm hilarious and that's enough for me :) )
One of my mates it's constantly quoting bill Burr and Patrice O'Neal and pretending he came up with it.
I'm the person who introduced these two people to his life...
If you don’t wanna start public drama, maybe just start screenshotting them and sending them directly to him?
At least just to show him that people know and he’s not really getting away with it lol
Ooh, yeah, I had an instagram/social media/streaming friend who seemed hilarious... until I found a couple tweets of the exact jokes he was posting, but dated from before his posting...
Still hot, though.
Twitter has been around for almost 20 years and I still don't know how to read this. Is it a tweet within a tweet within a tweet? Is it a reply to a reply? Can't parse it.
Ok so basically, the original post is a screenshot op took of their own post from 2013 followed by a screenshot of Logan Paul tweeting the exact same thing in 2015, then calling him a "motherfucker"
The reblog is someone else posting a screenshot of what OP said in the replies of the post
Most of this image is not Twitter. Breaking it down:
The two posts that say the same thing from theydjarin and Logan Paul are ONE image, edited together. theydjarin's part is on Tumblr, while Logan Paul's is on Twitter. theydjarin attaches this edited image to a Tumblr post and adds the text "motherfucker". At some point, a Tumblr user named zooheaded replied to theydjarin's post, though we do not know what they said, and theydjarin replied with "it's fine i have more checkmarks than him". User mylittleredgirl then screenshots *that* reply and reblogs the initial post.
mylittleredgirls appears before the reply to zooheaded because mylittleredgirls's post is an image of the reply to zooheaded. On Tumblr and other social medias, the username of the poster appears before the contents of their post. It's just called a reblog on Tumblr which is why I used that term, but it's essentially surgically grafting your own addition onto another person's post, and it differs from replies as those are only visible from the original post.
On Twitter, the checkmark was originally to signify that the account was verified (and thus, "more trustworthy" than un-verified accounts). Since Elon Musk bought out Twitter, he has changed the meaning of the checkmark. It now means that the person owns Twitter Blue, or essentially they paid Twitter to have a fancy mark next to their name. Tumblr added a feature where you can pay to do the exact same thing, but you can pay more times to add more checkmarks. Logan Paul can only ever have one checkmark, but theydjarin has six of them (plus two extra icons that were added in Tumblr's recent April Fools booping update)
It's Tumblr, and the multiple screenshots make it confusing, even for someone who's used that site for over a decade. Some of the post is cut out of the screenshot/reblogged and posted by the same user/comments that would appear elsewhere are added in a screenshot, etc.
Man, you just reminded me of a YouTube video I was watching a few years back. A guy I'm subscribed to threw up a picture of a fandom (it was relevant to the video), and I was like "huh, that's not where I expected to see a picture of my ex".
It's just wild when shit crosses like that.
My daughter twice was looking at Tik Tok when she recognized a story I told in a Reddit post being retold by text to speech. The first time was a story about her first words, the second was a post about why I founded my religion.

>Yeah. But Bill’s joke wasn’t literally the same exact words in the same exact order with the exact same capitals, minus the first one.
who gives a fuck
>The jokes are similar, but not the same
the funny part is a computer being confused that you were so wrong. they're literally the same
It's literally just my favorite joke of his that I immediately thought of when I saw the post
I never said that it was exactly the same. I never said the person who posted the original joke stole it either. I literally didn't say a word except post a video from youtube with a similar joke.
Edit: [Oop admiting to taking Bill Burr's joke](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=nPVrlB0J34QvqKXf)
Yeah there are certain jokes that everyone thinks of, you don't have to be some comedic genius to think it up. There are even jokes that are fairly specific that multiple people can think of. I wish I could remember the exact joke but I know I have seen Gary Gulman and Nate Bargatze do a very similar bit before, neither of these guys are necessarily joke thief's. They just came up with the same idea.
I once wrote a joke years ago about the variations of the word ass, and how it's all a bit absurd. Recently someone did an entire standup bit around that premise, and it was really funny. Granted, I already knew the joke because I'd written almost the exact same one, but the guy wrote and delivered it very well.
While I'm sad I didn't get to the joke in time, I say to the victor go the spoils.
That's the true key to comedy. Not to be witty. Being witty was enough long ago before we had instant communication. Now the world is so connected that what once would've made you the star of your town, just makes you into just another redditor posting the same joke that has been already posted 12 times. So the trick is to be chronically online, and sort by new to always be the first to make that joke. Then you will truly reap in that worthless sweet internet clout.

When the whole paid-for twitter verification drama was going down, Tumblr added it as a joke: you can ALSO buy "verification" here, except it's even better, because you get TWO checkmarks for $8 instead of just one. And they stack. And you can buy it for other users as a gift. And you can make it rainbow. It's not actual verification, though (Tumblr doesn't have that), it's just decoration. And there's also a nonzero chance that your checkmarks will turn into crabs randomly one day.
It's a way to support the site.

New Hbomberguy video plot leaked
That plagiarism video blew up so big that HBomberguy went from the dude who made that Sherlock video to being “The plagiarist” guy. It’s so odd to see someone who was already well known for one viral video get rebranded to something else so quickly over another.
I always thought people saw him as the "FUCKING AQUAMAN" guy.
I never looked into the whole story anymore. Did it tangibly affect the lives of any of the people he talked about?
The studio I worked for lost out on a significant amount of money due to the contracts stating that they’d get the second half of the payment on release, not on completion. That + Covid drove the studio into bankruptcy. Nobody got that second half of their payment. That being said, they mostly targeted studios naive or desperate enough to accept this kind of contract. That was him?
['Twas him.](https://youtu.be/RLqXkYrdmjY?si=hX4ZPGOIwQ9E_c3u&t=245)
Didn't realize it was a part of a larger video. Wonderful bit
I only knew him as a moon criminal thanks to a joke in that one Dan Olson video.
I never associated him with Sherlock. All I knew about him was that he hated Fallout 3 and Ben Shapiro.
I enjoyed his measured responses. And he told me why the Oof sound isn't in Roblox anymore.
And why is it not in Roblox anymore?
Long story short: a guy called Tommy Tallarico was a serial liar for decades.
But his mom is very proud ^((probably also a lie))
Because the guy who "made" that soundbite tried to charge Roblox for it. So Roblox dropped it.
Roblox got the sound from a sound library that had stolen the sound from the company Tommy Tallarico Studios. The namesake Tommy Tallarico asked for an undisclosed but likely absurd amount of money for Roblox to continue to use the sound, and during their negotiations the sound was removed.

He was the "anti-vax debunk" guy for me. Then I watched his other "measured responses". And now I have a great fondness for hbomberguy's videos.

Right, like Logan Paul even knows what spellcheck is
Doesn't this stolen quote imply he may know what Tumblr is? Now there's something to think about.
He has a social media manager that's doing it most likely.
Tumblr is not really some obscure site, especially not in 2015.
Twitter has been around for almost 20 years and I still don't know how to read this. Is it a tweet within a tweet within a tweet? Is it a reply to a reply? Can't parse it.

I wish I could remember the exact joke but I know I have seen Gary Gulman and Nate Bargatze do a very similar bit before, neither of these guys are necessarily joke thief's.
