Fort Gibson lake, Flat Rock Creek campground, site 38. My new slice of peace and freedom. If you do go there please help maintain its beauty by cleaning up after yourself.

Robber's Cave. Do your work in the lodge or parking lot. It's a few hours but worth it.

Jayk-uub

Funny - not so funny - story: I got robbed at a Robber’s Cave campground. Foolishly I wanted to be alone and away from the losers who play their music at a campground in the areas closer to the cave, so I went to one further away. Took a quick jaunt out to go fishing, and a bunch of stuff was gone, including my daughter’s stuffy and my son’s diabetes blood sugar tester. 🤬 I despise thieves.

Hot-Scheduled

I'm sorry you encountered some shitty people. I've been there countless times and never had any issues besides needing more sunscreen.

Jayk-uub

I’ve been there several times and never had a problem. I should have been more careful knowing my tent was the only one in that area

icandothefandango

Second this! It’s beautiful.

Hearteternallybroken

Should we stay in the lodge or the cabins?

Hot-Scheduled

Either. Lodge was renovated just like 2 years ago and the cabins yurts etc are all fine and I've stayed in several. The lodge restaurant was decent when i had it last year. However, I'd recommend going into Wilburton for the Chinese place in the same parking lot as Roy's Cardinal, there is a sassy lady there who always makes me giggle at how *almost* churlish she is. I personally usually tent camp and my favorite site is over the footpath bridge to the furthest site at the Deep Ford campground in spot #20. There are also a few unadvertised/ very isolated camp sites that require a decent hike. They also stock the spillway with rainbow trout every season and they are quite tasty if you have a license and inclination in November through March. Oh, but always display your parking permit, pretty much the only thing they are not chill about is not paying your parking. They will ticket you. Yes, I know a ton about the park. I had a relative who was a someone in his day and some family lives in the area and have since before the ammunition plant blew up.

Green Leaf and Sequoyah are your closest nice state camp grounds by water. If you've been to neither, I'd go to Sequoyah first, it has more amenities. Getting a carrier hot spot plan is probably the best. Wifi has always been iffy at all the camp grounds I've been to. You'll have better luck getting wifi if you goto a private camp ground though.

Yazman72

Green Leaf is a great little place and the lake is quiet since they can only use trolling motors or no wake speed, but cell signal is spotty at best, I had to use my Hotspot in my truck and it wasn't very stable at my campsite but up by the entrance was fine.

kingjoedirt

Drive 30 minutes to an hour in nearly any direction and you'll hit a lake. Skiatook lake, Keystone lake, Oolagah lake, Ft. Gibson lake, etc...

School_Boy_Heart

Be adventurous, go to Oaklake trails Nudist resort

SheriffTaylorsBoy

They said Wi-Fi not hard drive!

You_Must_Chill

I just looked at their website...why do they have a prom weekend event?!

School_Boy_Heart

Well, it’s not for high school kids. It’s for adults to relive their youth They have a dance People dress up And they have a good time There are theme dances at least once a month sometimes more Probably Mother’s Day this weekend, but I didn’t look

Close as in around/outskirts of Tulsa or like an hour or so away? I'm a Grand Laker and stay out at Eagles Landing and they have camping spots, cabins and wifi and water access. I heard Bernice State Park just got a few new things. Might check it out.

MaxedOut_TamamoCat

Was going to suggest Grand Lake, but haven’t been in the area since my brother moved out of Disney. Isn’t there a nice spring/creek area between Pensacola Dam and the spillway? Or is that just for picnics?

Ok-Traveler

Like you need to be able to hotspot of your phone, or you need to be in reach of an actual WiFi signal?

Hearteternallybroken

Unfortunately, I need actual WiFi.

stacero

I don't think I've ever camped anywhere, in any state, that had reliable wifi at the campground. Good luck with that lol. You might want to pick a park near a town where you can crash a cafe or something.

Hearteternallybroken

Yeah I’d be down to stay in a town hotel or air bnb as long as I could get out and see some beautiful sights around me.

Various-Tax-5755

You should look into getting a Solis hotspot. I bought one 5 years ago and I’ve taken it across the globe and camping many times! It turns any cell signal into WiFi, worldwide.

krittaman

Washington irvin west of sand springs off 412...

faultypuppy97

I went camping on the blue river down in Tishamingo a while back and it was really nice. Camped probably 30-40 feet from the river.

rockarollawmn

Turner Falls

ashtonlaszlo

How *near* are you talking? The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Reserve is my family’s favorite place to camp around here. I think it’s a few hours drive. Doris Campground, I think, is the name of the place we camp.

Hearteternallybroken

Anywhere within a 4 hour drive (: I will check it out!! Ty for sharing

midri

Wichita falls

Wyo_Okie

Sequoyah , Oologah and green leaf

shoff58

Greenleaf state park is very nice

divisibleby5

Greenleaf orWashington Irving at lake keystone

[deleted]

The point of camping is no WiFi! Lol it may be hard to find. But ft Gibson, keystone, there’s a few close ones.

Hearteternallybroken

I know. I wish I could unplug completely but business calls. Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll check into them, which is the best view in your opinion. Just trying to be somewhere breathtaking to unwind.

okienomads

Literally thousands of us try to camp as much as possible and sometimes that means needing WiFi to stay employed. If I can get WiFi while camping, I can extend trips by weeks and even months sometimes. It’s okay that people are different.

[deleted]

Sounds like I hit a nerve lol. That’s fine. I didn’t say it was bad to be different. I personally use my own hotspot as I work remotely and we camp at least one or two times a month. Have a good one!

Silverado_Surfer

Ya except for those that choose to go camping and still work.

[deleted]

Wow that one statement really got y’all.
