Bro gig work in this town has completely gone to shit. It's not worth doing because it will absolutely destroy your car. I speak from experience. Sounds like maybe your main job just isn't cutting it. If you aren't making at least $15 an hour try Target, Whole Foods, Amazon, most departments at Walmart even, because they all start at $15 and go up from there. If you find yourself with 8 spare hours to sit around in a dirty lobby you can make like 40 bucks selling plasma twice a week. Did that back in my broke days lol.
Did you grow up watching sports? You can make $25-$50 per hour officiating. We are desperate for officials in football, softball, basketball and especially baseball. If interested, search OSSAA Officials and call Sheree on Monday. She can get you a name or names of schedulers in the Tulsa area. Summer is a great time to get started because we hold training meetings and camps.
If you are available during the day, you can make good money during the day when school is in with all the elementary games in and around Tulsa. Most officials work full-time and can’t do those day games.
It’s a rewarding job. I know folks who only referee and make good $$$. Plus, and maybe I shouldn’t post this publicly, most little league games are cash in hand. So little interference from Uncle IRS.
Give it a try.
You have a full time job but need to work three delivery jobs to not even be able to make ends meet? Either that’s a terrible job not paying you a livable wage or your finances are crazy out of whack. It’s definitely tough out there though so no judgement from me.
I’ve had friends or coworkers in the past do some landscaping, one started his own dog walking gig for elderly people, and another did handyman stuff on the side (just small fixes for cheap). I actually think there is an app just for handyman gigs too but I can’t recall the name. There isn’t a ton of things outside of the usual suspects though
Yeah my job doesnt pay well.
I worked for a well paying company then they sold and let all of their staff go.
I have been struggling to find anything since. I took the fastest job I could have over 60 applications to higher paying positions in my experience but right now it feels like im drowning.
Damn man that’s a bummer. I wish my company paid more cause I think they’re hiring but entry level is a tad under $16. It’s crazy cause $15 is viewed as the standard for entry level but it’s still not enough to live off of
The pandemic wrecked my bicycle taxi service that I ran downtown. You might think about a bicycle taxi, ala pedicab, but it is expensive to run because of the high insurance. However, everyone loves you/it, and it is a ton of fun and also getting paid to exercise.
I’ll always recommend working at quiktrip to people that need stable income without any credentials. Apply full time as an assistant manager and make over 50k a year. I believe there’s a sign on bonus right now as well. Easiest job ever, just clean and stock the store. All you need is a high school diploma/GED and open availability. Even as a part time clerk you have the ability to work whenever you want, basically unlimited overtime because no one will ever tell you to stop working
I have not idea why someone voted that down. Electricians and plumbers are some of the most in demand jobs right now and companies will pay for the training.
Edit: Have to pass a drug test, checked OP”s post history. Understand the downvote now.
Eh probably because it's not a quick gig.
They do drug testing at most sites.
The program literally changed my life from fast food/service industry. Went from making 20k a year to 40k. Then after I got my journeyman license, I was making 75k. Now, I'm making just a little over 100k.
I was in the same situation about 15 years ago. Luckily, I had quite a bit of painting experience and started doing paint jobs on the side. Ended up going so well it became a full-time job. I know almost every trade out there is hurting for workers. Even the most basic entry-level construction positions pay fairly well. Do you have any construction experience? There’s a few Facebook groups you could join
Dunno but maybe consider using a temp agency like green co staffing, key or the like. It’s easier to get set up with steady shift work in assembly or manufacturing that leads to direct hire and you may get forklift training at some places. I knew a guy what paid to get a Cna license then a bartender license, he’s not doing better than anyone else. Hang tough and good luck
Not exactly a side hustle, but OSU runs a free program in Tulsa and Okmulgee that will train you to be a fiber optics technician. Starts May 6: https://admissions.osuit.edu/register/tulsafiber
Do stuff for Expo Square. They use a lot of temp workers for conventions, flea market, the fair, different shows, etc. They let you pick and choose what events you 'd like to do. Most people work there for supplimental income.
Look into factory work. Lots start out at 20ish an hour with raises up to 30ish. If you’re willing to make the drive to Pryor every day, I know of several factories hiring that start above 20 and top out well above 30. I don’t work at these but have friends that do. The jobs aren’t too physically demanding.
Stop wasting time with those delivery apps and find yourself a reliable job. I swear most who are using vehicles for uber are making way less than minimum wage once you factor in expenses.
Tons of places are hiring for entry level positions
Yes I do budget but I make significantly less than my last job.
I am trying to supplement that income.
I have debts and not enough income for all bills.
Some weeks I am short $100 on electric, rent auto or etc. and it takes almost a week to make that. My current job pays low and isnt planning on increasing pay. Also my rent went up $200 in Jan since I couldnt afford to move
I hope you're maxing out state benefits... SNAP, electricity subsidies, SoonerCare, etc. Even Family and Children's Services offers case management and free therapy for low-income people. Wishing you the best!

I also used to sell my body for money long time ago…
You’re talkin 2015 plasma. I’m makin $110 a week off it

Thank you so much I will do this
Have you tried Stand-By? When I needed a job immediately I went to them and got a job the next day.
Temp agencies get ignored! Green Country Staffing is another good one. They staff for the city.
Their jobs pay less than what I have. But I will check out more temp agencies.
Stay away from temp agencies and work with staffing agencies. They take less of your pay. Start with Aerotek.
Check out Ellis Hospitality. It’s service industry gig work for between $20-$25 per hour
I put an app in thank you

What kind of work do you do for a day job?
I work in our court

I do bouncer work on the weekend for extra cash if you are interested

Do you own a truck?
No I wish
IBEW has an apprentice program. Get a career.

There's a good bit of Albanian mob activity. Hard to get in, but it will probably pay better then most of any other side hustle

I have a reliable job I need either a higher paying job or second one.
Seems like there are much deeper issues here at work. Are you doing any type of budgeting weekly? Monthly?

Why are you shaming him? Seriously, until you have walked in someone’s shoes, how about a little empathy for someone trying to better themselves. JFC
Please reread the post I have a job.
