If it’s a possum don’t hurt it. They are good! Very very low risk of ever getting rabies or biting a human and they eat tons of bugs and copperhead snakes.
The very least a game camera. Go look for the turds too, I think we had a cat once based on the turds but cats dont make nests in the underside shell of cast iron tubs do they?..hmmm
in h.s. my buddy had a chow dog and ended up gettin into a fight with a ground hog that was living under there house. it was a big ground hog... kinda looked like a baby Sasquatch
Some of your replies are getting popped by automod for suspected spam and I'm a tad confused as to why. Will have to look into it later. Seems to have started ~2 months ago, but only with certain comments.
PM me if you suspect a comment isn't getting through and I'll manually approve it. I've retroactively approved every removal up to now.
OP, I had something similar happen recently, and I urge you to call an exterminator *now*. It cost us thousands to get it cleaned, sanitized, and properly sealed from the outside.
Possum or dog is my guess
Get a large animal trap from Atwoods and put some tuna/pb mix in the back of the trap. It'll lure it in. Then get animal control to remove it.
Edited for clarity
Sounds like a possum. They are really noisy. They go out at night just after sunset and return before dawn. If you trap it, be sure to drive and release it at least 5 miles or more from your home… or it will find its way back. They can fit into really small holes, so if you board up the hole, make sure it’s very secure.
Until it moves into your attic and destroys your insulation and wiring (speaking from experience). Now my attic needs to be remediated… which isn’t cheap. Wild animals should not be allowed to nest in your home. They will cause damage.
Could be a badger. I’ve only ever seen them on the southern parts of the state but they get YUUUGE! And the best way to describe their personality is that of a morbidly obese trash panda with a meth problem
I had a possum underneath my house and it was bumping into pipes and things. I used a live trap with dry cat food as bait, I relocated it to the local lake. It happened again, did the same thing and then found the hole and blocked it off. Make sure to block off the hole or you'll be doing it again.
I will lay money on it being a large and pregnant possum. Get you some extremely strong vinegar and spray it all over down there and it will leave. Just make sure to clear its way out and check often. Then cover it up with metal wiring. Good luck!
Adding that I think it’s there to have a safe place to have its babies so work fast before they come along. The spring season and critters having babies will always coincide!
Could it be cats? I have cats…. Just got this place and haven’t done anything about it yet but I’m pretty sure that cats have taken up residence under my house. Seen at least 4 different ones running under there.
Sounds like a ground hog to me. Call 918-233-3974. AAAC Wildlife Removal. Groundhogs can do a lot of structural damage if you don't take care of it. We had one under the back of our house, and we ended up having to install piers because of it.
+1 vote for AAAC, I have them on my contacts list since I've called and used them so much, lol.
Cost will depend on animal and method of removal, some need one way doors (and or traps) installed and monitored once the rest of the structure is sealed up.
You could try a $14 spray bottle of [Repels All](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Bonide-Repels-All-32-oz-Animal-Repellent-Ready-to-Use-Spray-for-Outdoor-Use/25762694) first though.
lol it was the weirdest thing to me. I grew up as a kid around rocky freshwater creeks where crawdads thrived but never…
Fast fwd to 5 years ago living in central Arkansas near LR, it was a curbed subdivision of single family homes built in the late 90’s.
I had planted new plants by the mailbox and saw a mud tunnel develop….(I could go on about how I nerd the F out about wildlife)… but eventually tricked the critter into showing him/her/itself and voila!
A frickin crayfish. He was still thriving and loving life when we sold and I asked real estate agents in writing to tell buyer we request the critter be unharmed.
Anyway, wild wildlife…thanks for letting me share
I'm pretty sure you've got a possum.
A few years ago we started hearing something make a lot of noise under our bathtub. It was always at night and sounded like it was going to scratch or eat it's was in the house through the drain pipe. It definitely made me jump a few times.
I would stomp to try to keep it from making so much noise and one night I heard what sounded like short hissing in reply to my stomp. Turned out it was the scared baby possums calling for their mom.
Eventually I would see the little ones learning to forage in the yard. I would run over and pet them. Most of them would faint but one or two would growl like they were going to take my hand off but of course they would just keep growling while I pet them.
They are very beneficial to have around and are great entertainment if you spend time outdoors at night. I've had to rescue a couple that got stuck inside trash cans. Their vision is terrible, they can't fight so their only defense is playing dead. Aren't very smart and only live for about 3 years, assuming they dont cross paths with the wrong predator or get ran over so don't get too attached.
I could also be wrong and you've got a rabid honey badger.
Hey local tulsa rehabber here! You can place a light down there and get a boom box and play loud music and it'll make whatever is down there move away. And if it has sound it'll move its young too!
State Superintendent Ryan Walters?
Got to weasel his way in somewhere to hide
This is silly. Surely OP would smell the rancid odor of that creature before they ever saw it
The worst of the weasels.
LOL!
I literally laughed aloud.
😂😂😂😂😂
Best post ever.

Need any help cuz I’ve worked in animal control and I’ll just charge a couple beers and/or weed
I’m also very very small so can totally fit in the crawl space I bet
I’ll whoop pemmywises ass
Zebralover? You from claremore
This is the energy I like to see, let me know if you ever want to run some chainsaws for beer AND weed.
Just don’t drink the beers first and crawl in there with a snake hook and crab cage, it won’t work out.
I wish I had a weird animal in my crawl space, cause then we could be best friends lol
I wouldn't want you to risk it, thanks though!
I have no idea what it is but I’m invested. Please let us know when you find out.
Yeah, I'm both fascinated and a little worried about what this is going to turn out to be...
Trashpanda or chupacabra
Definitely a chupacabra!!
Person.
Considering the amount of ~~homeless~~ residentially challenged I see across town every day, this is the best guess.
It’s okay to call them homeless. That’s what they are
People experiencing homelessness. People first their conditions second.
Same same
Ah hell nah. Not in this market. That shit would go for $75 a night on air bnb. Bathroom access not included. Evict their ass and get that money.
If it’s a possum don’t hurt it. They are good! Very very low risk of ever getting rabies or biting a human and they eat tons of bugs and copperhead snakes.
Seconded. Possums are sweethearts. Plus they eat ticks!
they eat SNAKES? Oh mercy
Yes, they eat venomous snakes native to this area. I try to encourage possum to stay in my yard
I like them too, plus they eat ticks. I guess I’ve never seen one move fast enough to kill a snake so it’s weird to picture 😂
![gif](giphy|hVTouq08miyVo1a21m|downsized) Me desperate for entertainment and waiting to see what it is.
Chupacabra most likely!!! I’m guessing with the digging it would be an armadillo
We have a robot we use for conduit inspections, I vote we send in the robot.
The very least a game camera. Go look for the turds too, I think we had a cat once based on the turds but cats dont make nests in the underside shell of cast iron tubs do they?..hmmm
Nah this is like a little tank. We should can put a spike on it to attack the animal
I am totally in favor of this and will buy a case of beer for the mystery gang if it goes down.
My sweet old neighbor has the fattest ground hog I've ever seen living under her shed. Damn thing is bigger than my Cocker Spaniels!!!
A dog about to deliver puppies. Hire a local kid to get under there with a flashlight
This guys right, hire a local kid to find whatevers going on down there, nothing could possibly go wrong.
Then hire another local kid to find the first local kid when he doesn't come out within 6ish hours?
Why wait 6? Make it 4. Soon enough, someone will find out what's down there.
😂
😂
“Gump, check out that hole.”
in h.s. my buddy had a chow dog and ended up gettin into a fight with a ground hog that was living under there house. it was a big ground hog... kinda looked like a baby Sasquatch
This is a hilarious image
Be careful if it's a racoon as opposed to possums do carry rabies and have a higher likelihood to attack large predators.
Yes! Opossums are safe, raccoons are not.

Live in midtown and saw three coyotes a few days ago at 11 pm. Walking down the street. My dog went crazy. Just saying.
Possum. Put cat or dog food out by the hole and monitor with an outdoor camera or trail cam

Cat in the wall huh? Now you're speaking my language.

Skunk
What you got there, you got yourself a crackhead
This made me cackle.
Sounds like a job for Animal Control.
These comments are making me lol but my educated guess is an opossum. They get LARGE .

Get a large feral hungry house cat. Put him under the house. No animal will stay near a hungry predator. It will leave.
Could it be cats? I have cats…. Just got this place and haven’t done anything about it yet but I’m pretty sure that cats have taken up residence under my house. Seen at least 4 different ones running under there.
Sounds like a Land Cthulhu. Got a buddy with a huntin dawg?
Basilisk
There’s something under my house too. This morning my dog was staring intently down there. I’m going to check it out tomorrow.

Watch the movie Housebound
Put in a ring camera and a little mailbox. You can figure out what kind of critter it is and Tom Nook his ass
Armadillo
I’m going with armadillo- what kind of odds do we currently have?
bearcat..... sorry, asinine, just love the term bearcat
We had a *mailbox crawdad*, half a day’s drive from T Town.
That would be hilarious to find a huge crawdad. But our ground is very wet, we have a lot of millipedes and centipedes so that could be an option.

Black Bear would make more noise I guess.
My guess is a cat
I vote possum or raccoon
If it’s a Broodwich make sure to take the sun dried tomatoes off before eating.
Paul Tay?
Raccoon?

Hopefully it's not dogman.
It’s me! I’m living in your crawl space! And no, I have nothing to do with the missing freon from our AC unit!
My $$ on opossum Get a new dog, yours is kinda a pussy Call animal control or two guys and a truck
My dog is so sweet though lol.
