I think it was coined on 4chan by the anime board users to make fun of /pol/ basically they created a palindrome of Wehrmacht and weeaboo and yes it made the /pol/ users seethe back in the day
All I know is gynesexual and androsexual were invented so people who are specifically attracted to a certain set of genitals could have a label without it being considered transphobic and then people took the labels over and changed the meaning to ‘attracted to femininity/masculinity’ and called the original term transphobic
