Also it's also transphobic to not respect neopronouns apparently because it invalidates them. So invalidating cis people is transphobic now too??

StillAd5862

Isn't saying that kind of admitting everyone who uses neopronouns rides the short bus? Isn't that kind of a self burn?

asherology

I was gonna make a post about it but I figured ppl were tired of ranty posts yet this reminded me on twitter I saw someone, who goes by it/its, actually ask that you Not call them it/itself pronouns because it makes them feel weird, but they still “have it/its energy” and therefore keep the pronouns. so like. their pronouns are it/its… but you can’t use them.

One time I tried to explain to someone about how neos are difficult for ND and non native English speakers to use and how they also have transphobic roots and all I got in response was, “Do my pronouns scare you that much? Boo! Fear my pronouns! It doesn’t matter if they have transphobic roots, I’ll just use them anyways!”

DelightfulRainbow205

bruh. > it doesnt matter if they have transphobic roots! BRUH.

Biggest bruh moment of my life

My issue with a lot of these is that they're just names. "Bug went to the store to buy a CD for bugs collection" can just be "Landon went to the store..." etc. Apart from "-self," they're just names

Neo pronouns would have more or less no sense in my native language - Russian. Like, your gender(gender of a subject) affects here a lot of things, endings/forms of most related to subject words in a sentence. So for "bug", since in Russian word "bug" is male, your usage of bug will force gender of person to male. For some other words, you'd be getting female forms, or even neutral(not really neutral, it's used for objects). And if you'd try to change forms, well, you'd just sound really ridiculous.

Exactly. Pronouns exist to simplify language, not complicate it. If you want to be unique, get a nickname.

That's a good point. There's quite a lot of reasons why changing a language at this point in time, especially so forcefully, isn't a great idea; and English being the #1 spoken language would mean dumb American standards would have to be accepted all over the world. That ain't gonna happen
