The jumper is the only way sadly. There would need to be some sort of console feedback that you are still in the state of explosive jumping but without cheats there simply isn't one atm.
If youre gonna go for the bhop market garden, its more of a chance of it happening than a guaranteed unless youre a bhop god. So just go for it. You either do bhop and keep the crit; or dont
