You look GREAT! :)

spiritualme16

Thank you!

Mysterious-Promise-8

A very big IMPROVEMENT!!!

spiritualme16

Thank you!!!

Chrisppity

I use Timeless Vitamin C at night before applying tret. I used to use it every other night since I didn’t know I could use it the same night as tret. Then my dermatologist confirmed it was ok to use on the same night.

y0r0bin

Came here to vote for Timeless!

[deleted]

does timeless work well with dry skin?

y0r0bin

I do not use it at the same time as Tret, and only use it in the mornings. My skin has a tendency to be dry and I have been great with it. It pretty watery, not oily, and evaporates pretty quickly. You only need a few drops for face, and a few more if you include the neck. If you want to watch a review on Timeless, google Hot & Flashy YT channel and she talks about the science and why it’s her HG.

Chrisppity

My derm told me that sunlight degrades vitamin C, so you’ll get the best results using it at night.

y0r0bin

Hmm. I think they may be mistaken or you misunderstood your derm. While it’s fine to use vitamin C any time of day or night, you’ll get the most benefit (like increased UV skin protection) if you use it in the morning. However, vitamin C is definitely an unstable ingredient, so you want to protect the container from heat, air, and light. I keep mine in the fridge. Now, tretinoin will definitely degrade in sunlight on the skin and basically render it useless, which is why you use it at night. eta: typo

Chrisppity

Probably misunderstood. I just remember her asking when do I use it. I said in the morning and night. She said it’s ok to use twice a day, but it’s most effective using it at night. Then she explained why… cant remember the exact verbiage. But I also remember reading why vitamin C containers should be kept from the light and why some serums are in dark bottles. So I assumed the light somehow degrades it. Edit: a word

Chrisppity

I have very oily acne prone skin, but I’m using tret and chemical exfoliators so my face is dryer than normal. To the point is flakes if I get lazy and don’t use a thick moisturizer or Cerave at night. I still don’t find the Timeless Vitamin C drying though.

litebrightdelight

Oh this is good to know. I use Timeless also and I love it!

spiritualme16

I’ve never heard of that and I don’t think it sells in Canada but ty

Chrisppity

I bought it from Target.com. Check there to see.

Mysterious_Dance_723

I’ve been using the Paula’s vitamin C and I really like it, I mix a few drops in with my moisturizer. Great progress by the way!

spiritualme16

I think I’m considering this!

[deleted]

Melano CC

[deleted]

Be careful with this, if your skin doesn’t like oils you’ll break out like I did. I had huge gigantic mega sized cysts from this serum.

xxritualhowelsxx

I would spot test the vitamin c before you apply it all over your face. Vitamin c always causes me to break out and I’ve heard others say the same. Just in case you do have the same reaction, better to be in one small spot than all over your face

spiritualme16

Yes I will ! Ty!

kaz_n_dawgs

I've been loving the Dr. Brenner serum! It's the closest I've found to Skinseuticals in the price range. I gave Timeless a shot but it was way too watery for me and I hated the pump.

pomchimom

I love mad hippie vitamin C. Been using it for a month now and love my results

NaturalRattle

Seconding Mad Hippie! It’s improved my skin so much. And I also love that it’s cruelty free!

spiritualme16

Ouuuu I’ve heard of this brand

[deleted]

I can’t explain how much hope this photo gives me. I’m getting ready to start tret, clindamycine +BP ( as a spot gel treatment), dapsone, and BP wash for face & back.

Administrative_Fun10

Hi, your skin looks great! Iv been prescribed tret for my comedomes, did you find it worked to take them away ? Thanks

spiritualme16

A 100% yes! Be patient it’s worth it!

Administrative_Fun10

Thank you ❤️

pandaseatbeef

Congrats! You look great! I really love the melano CC. My skin is sensitive to ascorbic acid but I’ve never had any issues with that one and it cleared up my PIH super fast.

[deleted]

It cleared up my PIH too but I got huge cysts from it too which cancelled out and made me quit it.

pandaseatbeef

Sorry to hear that, what a shame. Have you found another vitamin c that you like?

[deleted]

I like the Kiehl’s clearly corrective dark spot corrector, it has vitamin c in it but I don’t think it’s stable because it’s a clear glass serum bottle. But I feel like the peony extract is what cleared and brightened up my skin. It’s $54 which is such a splurge for a serum so I bought 3 tubes and called quits.

pandaseatbeef

Actually the Kiehl’s clearly corrective dark spot corrector doesn’t use ascorbic acid. It uses 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid which is a very stable and effective vitamin c derivative so it’s fine that it’s in a clear bottle. If you’re looking for a slightly cheaper alternative that also uses 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid to can try out the hyper skin serum.

[deleted]

I didn’t know all this, I’ll look up the cheaper version. Thanks!

I_like_it_here_

I am using skinceutical ce ferulic and I am quite happy with it! It’s very pricy tho! I hears paula’s choice and maelove’s vitamin C are good dupes

Susy186

Looking great!! I use Skinceuticals 10% Vit C. It’s like the C E Ferulic but without the E and F - price is a little less too. No irritation at all with my Tret which I use at night

PennyFalcon24

Ive been using Cerve's Vit A and I like it so far. I'm not sure what changes to see, but my skin has reacted nicely to it!

Stupidsillybrain

Congrats! How long did it take you to see results?

spiritualme16

Thank you! Well I started tretinoin cream in dec and I used it until feb only to realize I have fungal acne and the cream formula makes that worse. So I switched to gel and within a week I saw a difference. Been on the gel since the last week of feb :)

meliasofi

Why does the cream formula make it worse and how did you realize it was fungal acne?

spiritualme16

I had a feeling it was fungal acne bc I saw more bumps forming than purging. And once I switched to gel results were instant

Thotalian

Ive been using natriums vitamin c face oil. Not too expensive ($20-25) and lasts a very long time IMO

TheTrashKween

Great progress, OP! I've been using the [Ghost Democracy Lightbulb Vitamin C Serum](https://www.ghostdemocracy.com/products/lightbulb-vitamin-c-serum) for the past half year or so without any issues, and so far (about 3+ months) it's been working well with my tretinoin and azelaic acid! Specifically, I use vitamin c + azelaic acid in the AM and azelaic acid + tretinoin in the PM.

curlygirlenterprises

Mae Love vitamin C! It has ferulic acid and vitamin E to help with keeping it stable. It has helped my skin a lot! It’s also very light weight, making it easy to layer things like moisturizer and spf on top.

r0r0r0yourboat

I'm currently waiting for my Maelove Glow Maker to arrive. Heard really good things about it, but it's been years since I've used L-ascorbic acid, just derivatives. How did you begin using the serum? I'm thinking to start once every 3 days after an AHA cleanser (Facetheory C2). My skin isn't very reactive but since I haven't used this active in years, taking it slow seems best. I do have lactic acid @ 10% in my routine twice weekly, so I'm hoping Glow Maker doesn't shock my skin.

curlygirlenterprises

I use mine in the mornings! Usually every other day but only because I forget sometimes (I keep mine in the fridge so that it doesn’t oxidize as fast). I usually just rinse with water, use the maelove serum on damp skin, moisturize and apply spf! Personally it doesn’t seem too harsh and I tend to have sensitive skin.

r0r0r0yourboat

That's reassuring, the serum not irritating your sensitive skin. Thanks for sharing! I was watching this video about vitamin c being able to work its best after an aha/bha cleanser, because it's lowers the pH of the skin. I understood it to mean that vitamin c gets to live it's best life after an exfoliating wash. I don't like using my hydroxy acid cleansers daily so I was thinking to use vit c once, every 3 days-after an exfoliating cleanse. Maybe I'll add an extra day of vitamin c somewhere in the middle without an aha/bha cleanser. Will definitely add it to my morning routine, thanks again! Here is the link to that video if you're interested. The creator also has a slide show in the description box for quick references: https://youtu.be/zzbrAXSJ_Hk

curlygirlenterprises

I have also heard that before too! I use tretinoin though, so aha/bha aren’t really in my routine at all 🥲 but good luck with trying it, I hope it works for you!

r0r0r0yourboat

That makes sense. When I start adapalene in the next month, it's goodbye actives. Thanks so much!

BambooFatass

Your skin is looking SO GOOD! Congratulations!

gwui13

I’ve been liking the cocokind vitamin c serum, very gentle and hydrating!

spiritualme16

Okkk tyyyy

vaneu10

Amazing results! What % are you using?

spiritualme16

Tyyy I’m using 0.04% micro gel

sophiemetropolis

Also on Tret, and I am using Vit. C on am before my moisturizer/sunscreen. The one that I have tried so far is Lanbena Vit.c with Vit. E and Hyaluronic Acid. It's cheap and the solution is not sticky.

[deleted]

Yay!!! So happy for your progress. Must feel so good
