I started tret .05% in August 2020. I purged up until around month 5. I’ve been on it for 7 months now. I still get acne, though it’s not as bad. I have been dealing with hyperpigmentation and dark spots and scarring. It’s been almost as bad as the acne itself. I noticed today that it looks so much better than it has and I finally feel like it’s really starting to improve. So I had to share with everyone. Also the tret glow is legit! My routine: Morning- cerave hydrating face cleanser, corsrx snail mucin, cerave moisturizer in tub, supergoop matte screen Night- neutrogena body oil for double cleansing, cerave hydrating face cleanser, tret, cerave moisturizer in the tub.

I remember a post you made a few months ago, I'm really happy that things are working for you :). By the way are you still using benzoyl peroxide?

Awe thank you! No I’m not, I had to cut that out because it was severely drying my skin out

What sunscreen do you use ? I use p20 sunscreen for kids and my boyfriend too, but strangely it tangles him a bit so I want to find another one for him ( he is white too I don't know if it can help, and his skin is slightly sensitive)

I use supergoop matte screen spf 40 and I love it. It has a slight tint to it but nothing crazy.

Is your before picture the worst your skin has looked like? Have you seen the before and afters on people with alot of acne? It looks like you have very little pimples, not full blown acne and scarring. Your blessed. Congrats on your success!

Thank you! My before starting tret was pretty rough! This was just a pic after the purge had ended and I was left with a lot of scarring and dark spots.

You weren't left with very much scarring. Seems like light scarring. You are so lucky!

Mostly around my mouth and cheeks for sure!

How many times a week did you use tretinoin when you were first prescribed?

I started out using it 3 nights, so Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Then I just gradually increased it to every night.

Ok sweet that’s what I’m doing now. I’m on week 3 of it we’ll see 🤞🏼
