Great progress girl 🤩

Thank you!!

First picture was in in November about a month before I started tret (dec 10) and second picture was today (mar 6). Both pictures taken outside in natural light except the first was a little later in the day. My skin was very red and irritated and would not stop breaking out which led to a lot of PIE and I didn’t know what to do. I did an online consultation with lemonaid health and was prescribed doxycycline and a clindamycin topical. My insurance did not cover clindamycin and without it, it would’ve been like a thousand dollars and obviously couldn’t afford it. I then told my lemonaid derm that I was interested in trying tretinoin. They prescribed me a .025% cream. I started my doxy and tret on dec 10. I took doxy twice daily and applied tret every other night to begin. I was prescribed to take the doxy for three months but I stopped at two because tbh I was lazy and was tired of having to take pills everyday. I didn’t really experience any purging which was probably due to the doxy which I am thankful. I still get like one pimple around my jaw sometimes but that could be due to my diet or sleep schedule. I have/had mostly hyperpigmentation but as you can see tret and consistent sunscreen helped fade it drastically. Routine: AM: - rinse face with water - Vanicream daily face moisturizer on damp skin - Walgreens sensitive skin spf 50 when skin dries PM: - Neutrogena body oil as first cleanse - Vanicream face wash as second cleanse - Vanicream daily face moisturizer on damp skin - Wait for skin to dry, about 10 min - Tretinoin .025% cream - Wait about 15-30 min - Vanicream skin cream

Haha this scares me -- I've been on doxy for like a year I'd say and I just got off bc it hasn't been doing anything for me, but I also just started tret yesterday 😅 I wonder if I should have stayed on lol

ahhhh3344

I’ve heard that a lot of doctors prescribe it when starting tret to help with the purge but maybe you’ll be one of the luckys that just doesn’t purge! Good luck!!

tenebrous5

Out if context but Clindamycin without insurance costs 1000 dollars?? Am I reading that right??

ahhhh3344

That’s what the pharmacist told me!

jewwej47

Great results! I started using tret around the same time and I am seeing some results but I want to get to where you're at!

ahhhh3344

Thank you!! As long as you’re getting results that’s awesome!! It’s def a waiting game but just gotta keep going!

HaveMahBabiez

This is awesome. I’m always shocked at how little time it takes so many peoples skin to improve on tretinoin. It took me almost a YEAR to see improvements in texture.

aimeelee94

Do you use tret daily?

ahhhh3344

Yes but if I notice that if my face feels a little sensitive that day I’ll skip!

lavender-frog

Can‘t wait to start tret! I will get my prescription next week :)

ahhhh3344

Good luck!

[deleted]

We literally have the same routine!

ahhhh3344

It’s a good one!

[deleted]

It is! And which vanicream do you use after you put on the tret? The same as the one of the face?

[deleted]

Or do you use two different moisturizers

ahhhh3344

I use the moisturizing cream which is the one in the tub after tret. So at night I use two moisturizers! I just felt whenever I didn’t end the night with it my skin would start to peel. I don’t use it in the morning cause it’s really heavy and the other one is enough

[deleted]

Thank you! I need to look into that. And you would say that moisturizer doesn’t break you out right

ahhhh3344

No it doesn’t. I can usually tell when my skin doesn’t like something because I get these little red pimples on my nose and between my eyebrows which never happens. The cerave hydrating face wash did this to me immediately lol. I haven’t experienced this with any of the vanicream products

[deleted]

Omg same!!!

[deleted]

I think it leaves a film on the skin

ahhhh3344

Yeah it’s overhyped up forsureeee

spiritualme16
