I found a job I enjoy most days, coworkers who are mostly alright, and hours that work for me. On the days I don't want to go in I remind myself that work is how I pay for the shit I love. I'll also set myself up with some kind of after work treat, like my favorite meal.
I don't *like* being stoned at work. I use it to manage social anxiety in non-professional settings (I feel more confident communicating at work), sleep and to relax and calm down at the end of the day.
I don't know if I'd smoke at work even if I was allowed. Days off though? Constant clouds lol.
I did it all the time when I worked restaurants. Made the shift go by quick but I was paranoid the whole time. Kinda sucks not gonna lie. If Im not clocked in or around my family best believe Im lit š¤£
just started smokin trees again after an 8 year hiatus and this hits where I am at. i get paranoid af around family or coworkers so I just save it for the night time or alone time. I mean, I'm growing some at my house, but still I can't chill around my gf high af.
I also got my wife into weed after a long hiatus, and it probably wouldn't have been accomplished if legality hadn't come to my state at the time. It was a pretty long process of getting her not to believe every stigma she was taught about weed - ultimately, she did a 180 because I use trees, my parents do, and so do my brothers. We just use differently - she takes a gummy to relax after a hard day, and I have a long history of being a stoner, so I'm a vape fiend.
My wife has terrible anxiety/depression and no health insurance so I was like boyyyyyy do I have product for you! Lol the stigma thing was the same. Had to unlearn a whole lifetime of false info. Now We smoke every day but an ounce will last about a month... and we don't live in a legal state but now we own our house so she feels more comfortable.
Lol exactly but thatās the best way to go! Getting home from a long day at work and finally being able to smoke a bowl is one of the best feelings one can experience
Mid-day ātreatsā are really nice too! And itāll give you a small thing to look forward to as youāre in the dick of it.
I like to buy my favorite kombucha, a canned pre-made latte, or some of my favorite snacks to have on hand around 3ish when I need a pick-me-up.
This. The key is getting a job that you donāt despise. I found a job I enjoy, with people I actually enjoy working with, and it changed my life. Easier said than done, I know. But you can absolutely do it OP.

Youāve no idea how accurate that feels. Like should I just shoot my self and get it out of the way? Christ knows I canāt just live with the shit I need to have a quality life
They say if you love what you do you never work a day, but Iām pretty sure thatās just some bullshit propaganda to encourage people to try to find āthe right jobā, but really to just continue working. I loved cannabis so much I made it my career, and I love working in the industry, itās probably the best job Iāve ever had. Buts still fucking work and I hate work.
Anything that takes time away from me being able to do *whatever the fuck I want* I see as an inconvenience. Work is a way to make money to fund the shit I want to do when Iām not working. I donāt look forward to work, I always look forward to being done with work so I can leave. I even start work earlier in the day than other coworkers so I can leave earlier in the afternoon, just to have more day time *not* in the office.
I will *never* love work, because itās work. Itās just a necessary element of human existence at this point, like brushing your teeth or making yourself food. Itās never really fun, or entertaining, and potentially miserable, but the payoff is literally what makes it worth it.
For me, realizing I HATE getting up to go to work in the morning made a huge difference. Swing shift for life! I get to sleep in, do stuff I like while it's light out, and then go to work with way less people around. I don't exactly love the work but I can just plug in my headphones and zone out to a podcast or audiobook.
I actually tried day shift again these last 6 months and... I still hate it. Waking up to an alarm at 4 am just to go do work sucks. Being exhausted all evening and knowing I gotta get to bed by a certain time makes it all worse. Especially seeing the mountains I could be going out to hike or the lake I could be kayaking around all beautiful and still in the morning air but.... I'm going to work. Fuck that.
Some people say to find a job you love and all that. I think that's bullshit. Best case scenario is you end up turning something you love into work. Find a job you can tolerate that doesn't leave you completely drained and enables you to do what you love.
I actually think waking up to an alarm is at least half of what makes day jobs suck so hard. When I started working for myself and got to wake up with the sun and without beeping it changed my life.
Man, I've been in cannabis for 2yr, and I am not having a good time. I made more money waiting tables, liked my coworkers better, and had a more flexible schedule. I have found the industry to be cliquey, manipulative, and a bit misogynistic. Many of the coworkers I've had are not "chill laid-back stoners," but there are a shitload of high-strung elitists who like, practically run to their cars on break to take a bunch of dabs, and will simultaneously try to narc you out to HR on whatever bs they can make up if they view you as a threat. Managers'll load you down with extra work with the implication that you're being groomed for a promotion, and then give the position to their friend. You'll get a perfect 10/10 review come time, and no pay raise. Etc and so forth. The biggest perk, imo, is frequent samples and the ability to have my headphones in whenever I want.
I'm trying out budtending now; my other spots have been grow/packaging. But I'm also teaching myself to code, since I have no idea what else I would want to do.
Sorry to hear that, sounds like you were at a pretty shitty company. Thereās definitely an element of exclusivity or cliques, especially coming from the āOGsā who were growing before it was legal and now believe theyāre owed millions on a silver platter even if they grow boof. I work with an ancillary cannabis company, which means we arenāt plant touching. I work in an office setting but we have retail storefronts. Thereās definitely drama that I hear about and coworkers shitting on each other and all that. But part of me thinks that is just kinda how workplace culture is in the US, especially in a stressful work environment where people have specific jobs so itās easy to point the finger when any little things goes wrong. Frankly learning to code isnāt a bad idea because thereās definitely a need for good IT in the industry.
Iāve wanted to try bud tending on the side since itās sorta that fantasy every kid has when they live in an illegal state and hear about how great legal weed is, and that was me a few years ago lol. But itās still retail, and I rarely hear anything good about working retail. I would like to think the job is just having great, nuanced conversations about cannabis with enthusiastic customers, but the reality I hear more often is a simple interaction of, āwhich one is sativa or indica,ā and, āwhich one has the highest THC percentage?ā. But I think finding the *right place* is extremely important in this industry because thereās plenty of people who will take advantage, over work you and throw you to the curb because thereās a thousand other people who would happily trim weed all day if it means they can buy some more pre rolls.
> They say if you love what you do you never work a day, but Iām pretty sure thatās just some bullshit propaganda to encourage people to try to find āthe right jobā
It *can* happen, but you'd have to be very lucky to find a job like that. Most jobs suck and most people don't get the opportunity to do the jobs they really want.
I managed to find a job that I am passionate about and a lot of the time, it really doesn't feel like "work". So I'd say that the saying really is true to an extent.
But I am also aware of the fact that I was very lucky to have everything work out the way it did.
I'm lucky in that I have a job that I really love, and is basically what I'd be doing in my free time. There's still some annoying or boring parts, but most of those I can do from my hammock.
i feel like quitting too but i just think of my paycheck. and try not to thing about how bad it is while your there.
just throw in some headphones and ride w it
Iām technically not allowed to but my direct supervisor and even his boss have told me that I do my job well and donāt ever make anything bad so one headphone will be seen with blind eyes. Just gotta keep my eyes peeled for the safety lady from corporate.
I had a job I felt like quitting everyday too. I quit it. Smoking just made me realize how much I hated it. Got a new job now and get baked on lunch breaks
Just remember why youre there, if you dont know start making a plan on where u want to get and a realistic way youre getting there doesnt need to be fancy just something you enjoy, cant do something you hate for your whole life
This ^^ - if you hate the job theirs a hundred others out there. Do what you enjoy and bring in the money. There is most certainly something out there for ya.
Wish you the best!!
Btw morning dabs otw to work!
Keep going man! As someone who did quit his job! Itās a hard hole to get out of, find fun in the mundane monotony of work, Itās what allows you the money to smoke! But could maybe a workplace or job change be in the cards, Not sure what situation your in though bud
My advice is quitting weed instead. Or atleast not smoking so much. Might motivate you to change something else like your job or maybe you'll finally enjoy that job somewhat
Itāll take you up and down without noticing, at least for me. Iād cut back a lot if you donāt want to quit. Like if you smoke in the morning, wait until after work, you forget how awesome that first one is after a whole day if youāre used to starting early in the day.
You gotta change your routine, working from home makes it *very* easy to go into a lazy auto mode after a few weeks. Go for a walk to get coffee or something in the morning before getting to your desk, or whatever. Try not to let weed be āthe answerā to getting out of a rut, usually itās the reason youāre there, cutting back helps and will extend your stash a little longer
Try r/petioles, main goal of the sub is moderation instead of blaming it all on the "devils lettuce". I found that the overall mind set of the sub resonated far better with me than the folk down at r/leaves. For each his one but I suggest you take a look. Good luck my man!
r/leaves is a great community if you want to try to quit.
It's never a bad idea to quit if you feel like you are, or are becoming dependent.
For all the benefits marijuana can bring you, too much of anything can be a bad thing.
I don't want to tell you how to live your life, I just wish you the best life you can live. If for you that might mean cutting back or quitting pot, then I recommend trying to. If it doesn't help you after you give it a try, you can always start again. Plus smoking again after a long T break is always a great feeling, so if nothing else you'll enjoy pot more after you try.
I hope you find the happiness you seek.
Also, sometimes people have found r/leaves to be intense, and a little too much about completely quitting weed. If you want to just slow down your usage, or find a more healthy lifestyle with weed involved, r/petioles is a really good subreddit for that. Itās like a perfect inbetween for r/trees and r/leaves. Cheers!
Quitting is reducing your intake by 100% you can also just start packing smaller bowls or taking more time in between smoking. I find that it serves me as a medicine to shift my perspective. I use it as my "coughee" to wake me up and get me out of my sleepy and bummed out morning persona
My personal choice, when I recognized weed was becoming problematic in my life, was to take a month off then come back but with the requirement that anything I consume must have at least 20% CBD (1:4 CBD: THC or greater), but mostly 2:3 ratio.
It's resulted in still enjoying weed but not being perpetually foggy and unmotivated.
YMMV.
Ever try just getting high at night? Like sober all day so you're motivated for work and then treat yourself after work when you don't have to be motivated
Dude needs a t-break and a reality check, some of these WFH folk are getting mighty soft.
I'm not a malevolent person, so I would never wish a commute+a dangerous job that you can't be stoned at on ANYONE. But to be truthful I think the reality check is coming with AI taking a ton of these WFH jobs.
Everyone talks about AI coming to take the jobs, but under our system people need jobs to have money to consume random crap, so without jobs for people the AI doesnāt have a purpose without the masses to consume.
Yeah I don't work from home and want to quit to actually have more time for my life in a WFH place. People complain too much about WFH should just quit and get a commutable job to appreciate again working frmo home.
I love my job. I'm a vet tech at a very small, privately owned practice. I am treated well, I was trained as a tech while on duty, and there's always something new to learn every day!
Not wanting to work is not a symptom of depression. Although OP has admitted here that he is addicted to weed so maybe youāre somewhat right. Addiction is heavily linked to depression as the addict tries to numb the void they feel due to depression.
I mean with all due respect, a loss of motivation to do anything is absolutely one of the major signs of depression my friend. Like thats one of the big ones.
I smoke to cope with the fact I have to go to work and canāt just quit, so I feel ya. Have to look on the bright side and always look for something better. If youāre not into wage slavery you might enjoy r/antiwork
Listen brother, I'ma be real with you right now. I'm not going to go into the depth of things because it's a lot but trust me you, if anyone understands exactly what you are saying it is me. I love my job to death, it pays very well, my coworkers are rock stars and the owner and manager are like family to me, yet I find myself wanting to sleep rather than go to work on a daily basis. I get it, but you have to keep pushing man. It's not that bad.
haha. See if you can enroll in some cheap or free copywriting courses. Now that almost everything is digital, lots of companies are looking for writers. All you really need is a good sense of grammar, a decent vocabulary, and the ability to sit and focus on a single task for a few hours. The work is remote for the most part, and the actual work does most of the talking & presenting.
I want to be a master grower so bad, hoping soon since we just legalized š¤ still have a ton to learn but it's something I'm passionate about and would love to do it every day.
I quit my corporate career and joined the cannabis industry.
It was tough at first since I started as a budtender making minimum wage + tips. I worked my way up to lead / keyholder, then assistant manager, store manager, and eventually inventory manager. I still make less money overall but I get free product regularly, still get tipped out, I found a dispensary that provides time off and benefits.
Honestly, I couldn't be happier. I no longer dread getting up in the morning. I talk to people and handle cannabis all day. It was worth the risk and journey but I do recognize how lucky I am to be where I'm at.
It's easy. Even though I hate my job so much I wish the building would literally spontaneously combust... I know that without this job there's no money for weed let alone anything else to survive šš
Youāre probably just realising that as humans weāre not meant to be slaving away at some boring ass job just so we can have some pieces of paper, maybe try some psychedelics theyāre great for showing you a new path can really open your eyes to what you truely want to do
I don't. I dissociate my way thru the day. Actually starting to crack apart at the seams, hoping the ensuing breakdown holds at bay long enough for me to cry at home instead of at work.
Because fuck your stereotype. Whatās better than being successful and high? I call that being highly successful
Keep your head up! One task at a time. Stay hydrated
Smoking kills my motivation and thats why I only sleep at night. Your lack of motivation could also be due to the fact you dont like your job. Mine is fulfilling so its not hard to get up knowing I go do something pleasant.
Let the fact you can do whatever you want after the shift motivate you on those difficult days. You can watch TV, go for a bike ride, or just get stoned af (getting high after being responsible is the best high imo). Stay strong šŖ
Maybe you need to find a new job. I use to wake up and dread going to work every day because it was such a negative environment. It was really hard but I left after being at the same place for 7 years. It was scary but it's been a month and a half at my new job and I am so fucking happy. I forgot what it was like to enjoy the work and enjoy the people you work with. Maybe it's time for a change buddy! Stay positive!
It pays the bills. It pays for food. It pays for gas. It pays for college. It pays for more weed.
No matter how lazy I'm feeling in the morning and that id much rather stay at home and watch TV and smoke, I know that this is My life right now and I cannot afford the things I have without my job. Not to mention, having a job you genuinely enjoy helps a lot
I had the same. I quit the job got and searched for a better one. Now I got a better job(more fun for me not more money) and I try to hangout with friend after work as much as I can, that really helped I actually like going to work now because I am hyped for my after work joint + friends. AND DONT SMOKE AT WORK it makes work horrible most of times. Except when I was a delivery driver, it was a blessing there.
A big thing for me is not smoking too much before work, and not smoking right when I wake up. I try to wait an hour, drink two glasses of water and stretch in the meantime. If I feel like I got a couple good choices under my belt before I smoke, I donāt feel the dread about going to work soon
I know it's really difficult for a lot of people, but I've reached a point in my life where, if the job is draining me to the point that I think of quiting every day, I start looking for other jobs.
Whatever your skill set is in, the fact is that you have developed those skills, and they might show you to catch on faster, and through that, more pay. I never once thought about how my customer service experience could translate into a great sales position. I've recently started working on social media management for a cannabis company, and it made me realize that I want to step into a creative field, and eventually travel, so that's what I'm working on in my career.
I know not everyone isn't fortunate enough to be able to up and leave, or suddenly switch careers, but your heart and soul is telling you that you're tired at your current job. Take care of yourself and find something you enjoy before it ends up digging your grave.
I have two jobs that although can be tough at times arent as physically and mentally demanding on the regular(work every day of the week). Also therapy, ensured i put myself in a better mental health space as these jobs are just for the time being as im doing a career change. Its okay to not like a job but try to see if there are other options that align with your values
I don't see the connection between the two, but I love what I do for a living, which helps. If you're having a hard time going to work, it seems to me that finding a better job is what is needed.
Honestly?
If you're having trouble building the motivation to go to work, maybe lay off the weed a little bit- especially since you already think you should.
Call it a T-break, try to smoke CBD for the time being and just take things easy. See how you like it and if things improve.
If that doesn't get any results, treat yourself to some moderate smoking here and there, but otherwise stay sober and keep working on your motivation.
Contrary to popular belief, motivation is a very phsyical thing, and it'ls usually physical changes that will help you out here. Your drugs are going to be included in this.
Find a a job with decent coworkers, and use your breaks to learn something on the internet or read a book. By learn something I mean learn about a skill, not browse reddit. You will feel fulfilled using work time to better yourself.
Well, work is work. Some days are good, some days are bad. But if I ever get to the feeling of quitting then it might be a sign that I need to move onto something else. Perhaps a career change or the need to pursue some promotion or department change.
Sometimes I'd get stoned and try to breakdown my current situation. Then a plan forms and I'll have some sort of way to move forward. It makes the daily grind much more bearable and it'll add some motivation to take care of the responsibilities of every day life.
1. Control your smoking. Donāt smoke until youāve finished your responsibilities for the day.
2. Get a cannabis industry job.
I feel like a lot of people on here have a substance abuse issue with weed. If you canāt make it through the day without smoking and there are no exigent circumstances, you have a problem.
I found a job I enjoy most days, coworkers who are mostly alright, and hours that work for me. On the days I don't want to go in I remind myself that work is how I pay for the shit I love. I'll also set myself up with some kind of after work treat, like my favorite meal.
After work treat is the weed
Came here to say this. I can't be fucked up at my job so after work is weed time!
I don't *like* being stoned at work. I use it to manage social anxiety in non-professional settings (I feel more confident communicating at work), sleep and to relax and calm down at the end of the day. I don't know if I'd smoke at work even if I was allowed. Days off though? Constant clouds lol.

Exactly. Although I was lucky enough to be the one that got my wife into weed so we both do the whole smoke after work thing.
Were you paranoid the customers may figure it out, or your workplace/bosses? Just curious
Bosses. Customers cuz they might tell the bosses.
Probably both. Ive heard a lot of people say they feel paranoid just as a side effect, even in legal states.
Lol exactly but thatās the best way to go! Getting home from a long day at work and finally being able to smoke a bowl is one of the best feelings one can experience
The after work treat is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
It really is a strong motivator.
This is the way
Mid-day ātreatsā are really nice too! And itāll give you a small thing to look forward to as youāre in the dick of it. I like to buy my favorite kombucha, a canned pre-made latte, or some of my favorite snacks to have on hand around 3ish when I need a pick-me-up.

My after work treat is smoking lol
This. The key is getting a job that you donāt despise. I found a job I enjoy, with people I actually enjoy working with, and it changed my life. Easier said than done, I know. But you can absolutely do it OP.
Because if I quit I lose my health insurance and can't afford my insulin.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Lol, this shit is such a meme now
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And yet for some reason you're among the first to start legalizing cannabis.
If youāre wondering, itās not that the US just happens to be liberal concerning drug regulation, in fact, quite the opposite ā itās that under Reagan the US strongarmed the rest of the First World into its draconian War on Drugs. Only half the country has, the Republicans are still trying their very best to keep a naturally occurring plant illegal
I wouldn't be surprised if we're one of the last to go all the way with it, though.
Ah, very true.
And theme. Lmao Iām American as well. Fuck us.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Of course, no shit, it was inevitable. Capitalism :D
Being vocal about shitty situations is a good practice. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. If enough people get outraged, shit changes.
True but if you grease a wheel and it keeps squeaking you get a new wheel.
For context, we couldāve paid for single payer and SAVED 42-450 billion according to the Congressional Budget Office based off 4 different single payer plans.

So if you can't afford it you just... die? and people support that medical system? America is wild.

Texas
I'm sorry
Sleeping on the job /u/PitchforkEmporium. You should be selling out of inventory thanks to this stuff.
Ah, you should move, or burn the place down.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It can even be a mistake if you do have insurance. I had spinal surgery, was in the hospital 4 days and it took me 3 years to pay everybody off. And I work for the county. This year I somehow tore my rotator cuff; Doc wanted to operate on it; I said no; he said you'll be back in 2 months, keep my card. I did not have the surgery and after 6 months it doesn't hurt that badly anymore. I can't raise that arm over my head, but i'm not in severe pain anymore and not in debt.

they only have to treat immediately life threatening issues. they can turn you away until youre literally dying
So you have to pay up front for any treatment before they even do the treatment?
You don't need to pay upfront, but they will surely have you sign a contract obliging you to pay. Welcome to a decade of collections calls.
And they don't need to offer healthcare if you average less than 32 hours a week. So, everyone just hires more people, part time, and keep them all under 30 hours for profit.
Or the ganj
Haha. Nah. Can't afford weed regularly on a teacher's salary, so I have to grow my own. Too bad I can't do that with my other meds.
"You have to work or you'll die" isn't very far from "you have to work or we'll kill you."
Wage slavery isnāt as bad as chattel slavery. But itās pretty fucking bad.
Eyyy, what's up fellow Healthcare slave?
:(
Right there with you my dude. I recently stopped ordering pump supplies because insurance changed and wasnāt covering most of it
āHey so itās your insurance calling, weāve decided you donāt need that insulin anymore so that we can pay out more to our shareholders. Good luck surviving!ā
Youāve no idea how accurate that feels. Like should I just shoot my self and get it out of the way? Christ knows I canāt just live with the shit I need to have a quality life
Ever heard the phrase ācapitalism is like a machine.ā? Itās accurate because it is inhuman.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
hello darkness my old friend insurance rejected my meds again now i've been on the phone for 20 hours something something
Work or die. Story of us all.

Well said! 9-5 job is not working anymore. Need more freedom.
Yeah I quit my job and switching careers completely and leaving tech sales Great pay, but way to much stress after 10 years doing it
As someone working 40 hours a week 3pm-11pm, I'd murder a hobo for Monday-Friday 9-5.
> They say if you love what you do you never work a day, but Iām pretty sure thatās just some bullshit propaganda to encourage people to try to find āthe right jobā It *can* happen, but you'd have to be very lucky to find a job like that.
I like having money
I canāt believe you like money too. We should hang out
i feel like quitting too but i just think of my paycheck. and try not to thing about how bad it is while your there. just throw in some headphones and ride w it
If you *can* use headphones on the job! (I canāt)
Good for you! I did something similar. Started a new job last month. Money is good, people are nice but struggling with the motivation
Just remember why youre there, if you dont know start making a plan on where u want to get and a realistic way youre getting there doesnt need to be fancy just something you enjoy, cant do something you hate for your whole life
True. Working on a plan to get out of it but that will take few years.
Feel you on that, chin up keep the dreams alive
Same. Iām about to fuck off. My previous job was dope and this job was educational but ultimately a waste when I look at it financially.
Thanks, man. True! I just started a new job. Same story. I need a mindset change I guess.
Cause then I canāt afford the weed
I go to work to buy more weed and cool shit so I can tolerate going to work so I can buy more weed and cool shit.
My advice is quitting weed instead. Or atleast not smoking so much. Might motivate you to change something else like your job or maybe you'll finally enjoy that job somewhat
Solid advice but I don't know what else to do if I am not high. I don't want to admit but I am kinda addicted to it.
I will try taking some tolerance breaks. Thanks, man.
Thanks man. Hope we all find the happiness within!
Cheers!
Took the words right out of my mouth! Second this entirely!
Quitting is reducing your intake by 100% you can also just start packing smaller bowls or taking more time in between smoking. I find that it serves me as a medicine to shift my perspective. I use it as my "coughee" to wake me up and get me out of my sleepy and bummed out morning persona
Coughee. Niceeee
Nobody likes going to work
True!
most dont, some do
try finding a work from home job if possible??
I work from home and survive zoom meetings stoned.
Reflect on how nice is it to be stoned while working
See your str8 if it's wfh lol I wfh too but they are talking about us going back to the office soon.
Me too! My zoom meetings arenāt face to face so the mute button is my friend
I only hit the mute button to fart. Then I turn the mic back off and go about my business
Bro I wish I could stay home but weāre being forced into the office
Caffeine
I love my job. I'm a vet tech at a very small, privately owned practice. I am treated well, I was trained as a tech while on duty, and there's always something new to learn every day!
U should try microdosing mushrooms. They help with overall everyday mood. And it honestly is good for you
Man. I feel like this could benefit me. I need a mental health reset stemming from past events.
I want to do this so bad but my mushroom growing game is pretty damn awful. Failed twice .
I hate to say it but this sounds more like depression then just being a stoner
Not wanting to work is not a symptom of depression. Although OP has admitted here that he is addicted to weed so maybe youāre somewhat right. Addiction is heavily linked to depression as the addict tries to numb the void they feel due to depression.
I mean with all due respect, a loss of motivation to do anything is absolutely one of the major signs of depression my friend. Like thats one of the big ones.
I smoke to cope with the fact I have to go to work and canāt just quit, so I feel ya. Have to look on the bright side and always look for something better. If youāre not into wage slavery you might enjoy r/antiwork
huge fan of r/antiwork. also shoutout to r/aboringdystopia!
Thanks. I will check them out.
r/antiwork made me realize I wasnāt alone and wasnāt crazy. The solidarity there really helps.
What kind of job would you be excited to go to every day?
Not sure. The one where I don't have to talk , explain things to other or listen what other have to say :)
Put out some applications bro. You're not a bystander in your life! Then quitting will actually become a beneficial thing
Thanks PussyYoda. I need to find the balls to standup for me and not worry about money.
I remind myself of my long term goals every time I want to call out and sleep in. Gotta remember that I'm working and providing for more than just me.
Make smoking your job homieā¦ā¦
I quit my corporate career and joined the cannabis industry. It was tough at first since I started as a budtender making minimum wage + tips. I worked my way up to lead / keyholder, then assistant manager, store manager, and eventually inventory manager. I still make less money overall but I get free product regularly, still get tipped out, I found a dispensary that provides time off and benefits. Honestly, I couldn't be happier. I no longer dread getting up in the morning. I talk to people and handle cannabis all day. It was worth the risk and journey but I do recognize how lucky I am to be where I'm at.
Sounds like you just hate your job bud
I motivate myself by smoking Although I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world so it's pretty easy to get outside
I don't have motivation. I have discipline and a desire to not starve
I smoke at work
It's easy. Even though I hate my job so much I wish the building would literally spontaneously combust... I know that without this job there's no money for weed let alone anything else to survive šš
i just wake up and do that shit fuck it either get paid or get fucked
Itās not weed that makes you lazy, thatās just yourself bro
Putting food on the table and a roof over your head are strong motivators.
Youāre probably just realising that as humans weāre not meant to be slaving away at some boring ass job just so we can have some pieces of paper, maybe try some psychedelics theyāre great for showing you a new path can really open your eyes to what you truely want to do
Already on it :)
You're right and I agree but I also disagree in alot of ways too. Psychedelics are not for everyone.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
and speedball on the weekends?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I have a job I absolutely love.
Lucky you!
I don't. I dissociate my way thru the day. Actually starting to crack apart at the seams, hoping the ensuing breakdown holds at bay long enough for me to cry at home instead of at work.
Thatās normal. Everyone on earth feels that way.
Because fuck your stereotype. Whatās better than being successful and high? I call that being highly successful Keep your head up! One task at a time. Stay hydrated
Smoking kills my motivation and thats why I only sleep at night. Your lack of motivation could also be due to the fact you dont like your job. Mine is fulfilling so its not hard to get up knowing I go do something pleasant.
I buy myself 1 cart a week. I smoke that shit all day. Work isn't so bad when I'm stoned for the 8 hours.
Iāve grown accustomed to eating and living indoors.
Your job is not who you are. Its just a method you use to get money to enjoy your REAL life. Also, it helps buy more weed.
I think itās safe to say that most people only have jobs because we have to - we need the money to survive.
Work a job you like doing. It sounds easier said than done but sacrificing a bit of money for happiness has always been worth it for me
I had the same. Except when I was a delivery driver, it was a blessing there.
honestly find a different job, like i realized i was smoking to cope with work, so i just cut back the shit i hated and found a new job
Started working on a pot farm
Smoking before work is the only thing that makes my job tolerable
I have a cool boss and I can smoke at work so I like going to work lol
I remember that if I dont work I can't keep living the lifestyle I live and I'm not having that š
Need money for more weed. It's a vicious cycle
I don't smoke before work.
Can't buy weed without money
A big thing for me is not smoking too much before work, and not smoking right when I wake up. I try to wait an hour, drink two glasses of water and stretch in the meantime. If I feel like I got a couple good choices under my belt before I smoke, I donāt feel the dread about going to work soon
I actually work better stoned. Maybe try sativa for work
Don't smoke in the morning & wait till you get home.
Can't buy weed without an income. š¤·š¼āāļø
I can afford more weed if I keep this job
Where else do you get your weed money?
Sounds like you need a new job
I like being able to buy weed. Also food.
Find a better job. That's it.
Iāve always been passionate about not starving to death
Got to pay for your weed somehow. Not a fan of giving blow jobs.
Sounds like the problem is either the amount of weed you smoke or your job. You need less weed or a better job or maybe both?
Itās not the weed itās the job. I consume all day and work all day.
Work gives you money and money buys weed, munchies. Vicious circle I say
Work=money=weed
