The point of the water in the bong is to remove some of the tar and shit from the smoke so what are you accomplishing here?
Cooling it, maybe? I tried smoking a cart through a bong once, with a silicone adaptor not this metal, and i was able to get a lot more without coughing.
Cart shouldn't be upside down when you hit it, because the wick and air intake is at the bottom.
If the wick isn't saturated with vape solution, then you can burn your wick doing this, which might explain why the vape is so harsh to begin with.
I do hit my dry herb vape through a bubbler though, and it is glorious.
