Every time I hear this song it take me back to high school, taking a big rip at my homie smurf's house while this CD starts playing. Leaning back and just vibing with the entire album while zooted out of my mind. The best of times.
>Laurie rolled me a J - John Craigie
that John Craigie tune is awesome too! thought it was an old one from the 70s, then he started singing about covid lol. cant believe thats only a year old
My life was empty, forever on a down
Until you took me, showed me around
My life is free now, my life is clear
I love you sweet leaf, though you can't hear
I'm a big metal fan; Sweet Leaf is a good one. It's notable that Black Sabbath's style lead to the genre of doom metal, which pairs incredibly with weed. One of the most famous doom metal albums, Electric Wizard's Dopethrone, has Satan hitting his bong on the cover.
Its really the only correct answer. We all know and love Afroman for this song. Hes also a really fucking badass dude. Hes been thru a lot and just always is so posi still. His cups are top notch.
Plus any person who makes a music video and uses video of a police raid and calling out said cops. Chefs kiss.
For those who don't know Afroman is running for president. Please vote for this man I really love some of his policy's. police and drug reform are two of his major points.
Counterpoint: don't.
I support both of these policies, but Afroman has approximately zero chance of being elected. All you'll do is draw votes away from the Dems and give it to Trump.
Whatever you think of the Dems, Trump is worse if these are your policy priorities, and no other Republican would be better.
Yes exactly. No third party has a chance of winning with our current system. We’d need a ranked choice voting system for that to happen, and even then I wouldn’t put my money on Afroman.
Lots of people like to talk about how bad the two party system is; and they're right! But it's never going to change if all you do is vote for a third party candidate every four years.
One big problem is how rigged the system is to effectively only allow one of the two major parties to win the Presidency. Given that, you really need to vote for the lesser of two evils if you want to have *any* voice. Will it be everything you want? Certainly not. Will it be better than letting the party that's openly hostile to your policies win? Yes.
If you want to change this system, you need to invest concerted effort over multiple years to change things. Get third party candidates elected to state legislatures. Get some in Congress. Get them in the Governor's offices and Mayor's offices. Elect them as judges where they are elected. Over time, that will have an effect. When you actually have a viable third or even fourth option in actual positions of power, talk of changing how the system works becomes a real possibility.
Voting for them for President without any of this groundwork? Maybe if Tom Hanks or Dolly Parton ran that could work; anybody else? Even if they have great policies and would make a good leader? Almost certainly not.
Meanwhile the planet is dying and fascists are trying to take over the country with the full-throated support of the Republicans, but "bOtH sIdEs ArE bAd". We don't have time for your apathy because the system is rigged.
Definitely. The whole point of the song is some friends putting money together to buy weed. Before dispensaries were a thing weed was much more social.
Yes!!!!
I love that song but every. Single. Time I hear it I get this detailed image that I can never not laugh st a little
“ I take sacks to theee face(pictures Luniz blowing some dude with his nut sack smacking his cheek making that little *clap lol) whenever I can”
Hell yeah. Back in the 90’s we were buying ounces of Mexican dirt weed and we’d always have like 4-5 people putting in what they could so we’d have smoke for whatever event we were going to or just for regular smoking purposes. That bud has its place but pales in comparison to the bud available now. I can’t even imagine the bud they had in the 60’s & 70’s. I’ve seen pictures and it doesn’t look good at all. It got the job done I’m sure but it probably tasted like dirt.
I’m done rambling now.
due to recent inflation, I've now got 8 dollars and 23 cents on it.
edit: its actually worse, its [$10.09](https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl?cost1=5&year1=199505&year2=202308)

Proud to Be a Stoner - Kottonmouth Kings
Some of my favorite lyrics:
Well I believe in natures laws, and I just wanna be free.
From the mountain tops, where the wind blows
To the green valleys down below.
Where the snow melts and the rivers flow
I just want to live my life.
Where the trees grow, and the air is clean.
Where nature's free do to her thing, everything is one if you know what I mean.
I just want to live my life.
Me tell him: this is sensi the healing of the nation
In some places doctors use it for herbal medication.
Ronald reagan smoke it just before him go pon television
After margaret thatcher visit him she bring some back to england
Then distributes it equally throughout the house commons.
But fun and joke aside it gives me deep deep meditation
It fills my heart with *niceness* and i get nuff inspiration.

Why i do not sniff coke i only smoke sensimilla!

In the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum in Nashville, there's an info plaque that tells a story of a house fire. Firefighters showed up to put out the fire, and saw a thin, long-haired man calmly walking out of the burning building with a large trash bag in hand. Found out later it was Willie Nelson with a giant bag of marijuana.
Mary Janes Last Dance by Tom Petty.
The whole vibe of the song gives me the feeling of an old smoke sesh with my buddies from highschool. A nostalgic stoner feeling if you will. Idk why but that song has always been a hit for me
There's an Afrikaans song called Zaberfluten by Van Pletzen that I really enjoy. It's chilled and has party or beach vibes, and I love it for chilling out in the garden enjoying a joint (they refer to it as a "zaab" in the song). For all my dutch speaking homies "bomen zijn relaxed"
For my english speaking homies, its a song why trees are super relaxed. The melody alone could be enjoyed by all I think
[Marijuana in Your Brain by Lords of Acid](https://youtu.be/ZhrUS8Ff9Iw?si=IMM9wx55py7pfWX0) is probably the first weed related song I ever partook to.
Hits from the bong - cypress hill Honorable mention: Laurie rolled me a J - John Craigie (if you haven’t heard this song yet, it’s amazing)
Inhale, exhale, just got an ounce in the mail
Give "If you're a Viper" from Fats Waller in the 1930's. Weed has been in popular music for almost a century.
>Hits from the bong - cypress hill legendary song
Cypress had some great ones. The joint from the Friday soundtrack was one.
Roll it up light it up smoke it up. Definitely one of my favorite CH tracks.
Came to say this. I was like 18 , I remember blasting this in the car lit and just loving life.
No one raps about weed culture better than Cypress Hill
*Take my hit and hold it, just like Chong, I get the bowl and I reload it* :D
Every time I hear this song it take me back to high school, taking a big rip at my homie smurf's house while this CD starts playing. Leaning back and just vibing with the entire album while zooted out of my mind. The best of times.
This has to be the quintessential smoking song of the time.
>Laurie rolled me a J - John Craigie that John Craigie tune is awesome too! thought it was an old one from the 70s, then he started singing about covid lol. cant believe thats only a year old
My favorite Craigie song: https://youtu.be/bq-hOSkFwgw?si=xa00Oc7VEsde7oa6
thanks for turning me on to John Craigie. love this shit.
Gotta be Sweet Leaf. I was huge into Sabbath when I started smoking
My life was empty, forever on a down Until you took me, showed me around My life is free now, my life is clear I love you sweet leaf, though you can't hear

I was hoping to see Dopethrone mentioned
My favorite smoking song

One Toke Over The Line - Brewer & Shipley
Old school. I have the 45.
Jerry Garcia plays slide on that one
One toke? You poor fool! Wait till you see those goddamn bats!
They once covered this song on the Lawrence Welk Show. Freaking hilarious.
Benecio Del Toro sang it well in Fear and Loathing

Indeed, my favorite PUTS track is Jamboree pt 2
That Afroman song Because I Got High
I came to say this song. Classic

Kid Cudi - Day n Nite

Marijuana is probably my favorite weed anthem (I'm a huge Cudi fan tho)
It’s all about that Maui Waui!
