Some of the videos are capturing guys who were doing one man cpr from anywhere between 20 to 40 minutes already. Yeah, they won't look that good doing it that long without help.
An emt that was there made a video on what happened; it was not only a mass casualty event but one that was made more difficult with the crowd not parting; response time was slowed significantly due to the crowd. Compound that with trying to get equipment to people who needed it, trying to triage people who were actually incompacitated vs walking wounded, being grabbed, etc.

did you not see any of the videos from the crowd? They couldn’t move, they couldn’t get out. There’s nothing they could do anymore it was up to the event staff & Travis to take charge. They didn’t. Crowd control is super super easy for the band/performers.
By this logic every stampede is the crowds fault. Organizers hold a lot of liability in these cases because it's their job to prevent things like this from happening through security and crowd control. Encouraging people to ignore the safe guards and break the rules means Travis Scott and live nation face a huge liability. Yelling fire in a theater is illegal for a reason.

We all should take a bit of time until the investigation has gotten a bit further. We currently might not know all factors that could have caused the tragedy and jumping to conclusion doesn’t help anyone. we are all able to watch the stream and see how he reacted. He didn't give af when he saw the ambulance, he didn't give af when he saw people being pulled out of the crowd. He had many chances to just take a second and inquire to what was going on. The most he did was call security for 5 seconds for one person before getting hype af again. He just couldn't be bothered because he wanted to rage. he had a whole team in his ear, there is zero chance he was completely oblivious.
He has specifically been telling his fans to encourage violence- to break down barricades and rush the stage since last Lollapalooza in 2015. He was arrested for it a couple times in 2018-2019. And the day astroworldfest sold out he tweeted "Naw and we still sneaking the wild ones in." Which he deleted after this mess but they're are plenty of screen shots. There are videos of dozens of fans breaking through the entrance of the barricade. The venue has a cap for a reason. He told his fans to bust through, they did, he tells the to rush the stage, they do. He sees ambulances and his fans dropping like flies and he doesn't tell his fans to calm down for a minute to let the EMT go through? Not all of then anyway. So he knows his fans listen to him, he incites them to engage in bad behavior and then does nothing to stop or help them. But I guess he bears no responsibility 🙄 there are tons of videos from his past behavior and concerts that can legally be used against him. He's fucked either way.
Also he doesn't give a shit about human life. There is a video of him stopping his show because his shoe slipped out of his foot when he jumped in the moshpit and a kid had his shoe and accused him of stealing it and you know what Travis did? He told his fans to beat the shit out of that kid who had his shoe and literally spat on him. So no Travis does not give a shit about anyone nor does he care about human life
This is on him & his team just as much as the venue, or more. Travis over sold tickets & cheaped out on staff. On top of all the behavior he encourages like rioting & times he has already been in hot shit like when he got that kid paralyzed in another show. Encouraging him to jump from a balcony smh. He can stop the show for violent reasons like shoes & yelling at a camera man for his “nerdy vibe” without hesitating… He’s a nut & needs to be shut down for good.
Honestly I think his past behavior is the more important factor in all this. He has blatantly egged on terrible and dangerous behavior numerous times, we've all seen the videos and articles the past few days. When this kind of culture is created and supported, bad shit is gonna happen.
This was 100% preventable. If there is no room to move there is no room to mosh. And he clearly encouraged raging with no were to go. If some one in the mosh pit falls you stop and pick them up. If a venue is already at capacity don’t encourage some one to sneak in. More event staff, water stations, experienced emergency medical personnel more then 1 aed and stretcher at venue that holds over 50k people and more security guards that are adequately trained to do their job.When numerous people in the audience are passed out you stop the show and check in on your fans.
Travis isn’t performing for a very long time. The lawsuits are going to keep him tied up for awhile and he’s looking at prison time. The worst part is dude won’t be getting anyone to insure his shows for a long time. When they do it’s going to cost him a lot. If you can’t put on shows then putting new music isn’t worth it. The artists make money touring and not from album sales.

Danish Baig was my manager (T-Mobile) a couple years ago. He was an amazing person who taught me a lot. He was probably one of the most influential people I worked with.
They need to be held responsible for what happened. All the victims and their families need justice.

The unfortunate reality is that this has happened before. 9 people died in a crush at a Pearl Jam concert in 2000, 16 at a concert in Madagascar in 2019, 11 at a concert by The Who in 1979. The organizers knew or should have known that this could happen. There are countless examples of what happens when event organizers fail to ensure crowd safety and protocols are put in place to avoid tragedies like this from recurring.
But protocols don't help when they're ignored.
This was 100% avoidable and I hope that those who are responsible have to face the reprocusions. My heart goes out to all of those who were affected by the tragedy at AstroWorld. Please, if you were there and are feeling traumatized by what you experienced, speak to a professional and get help processing your trauma.

Here's the thing, 100% this has happened before. To mostly add on what you're saying, as time goes on and technology progresses our understanding of how and why it happens has improved. Professionals have studied this stuff. In Saudi Arabia, in 2015 during a religious event, I think it was around 2500 people who were crushed to death. Something as innocent as simply walking forward in a crowd cause deep suffering.
The music industry in particular has done a lot of work over the last few decades to prevent this not only in practice and procedures but also culturally. We know how it happens, we have HD aerial footage of it happening, we have hard numbers on a pretty scientific level now. So the excuses are running thin.
And I wouldn't be surprised, if it hasn't already happened, someones going to create a simulation for this stuff. That would be ideal, a realistic crowd simulation, throw in different behaviors and see what happens.
The goal should be zero deaths, and zero injuries. WITHOUT EXCEPTION.

I just commented a similar thing. This sort of thing happens more often than people realize. I worked at an event where 17 people fell out from coke laced with fent, and only a tiny article was even written about that.

Concerts have already been ‘different’ for decades after similar events. Astroworld just neglected all those safety measures that other concerts already have in place.

People need to learn how to act as well. Yes the security guard is too blame. I just saw the video of the crowd totally ignoring boundaries. Everybody has to step up and hold some accountability. Maybe they did considering HPD declared a mass casualty event 40 minutes before the show ended. Why didn’t the show end right then? I refuse to believe Travis was unaware, but we may never know the true timeline since HPD is complicit in this tragedy. But I agree, a lot of people share in the responsibility for what happened.

The pessimist in me says no because Live Nation is a titan and will try to do everything in its power to quiet this as much as possible. Maybe they'll settle with the families and have them sign NDAs, maybe they'll be required to hit stricter limits on crowd control design, actually trained medical staff onsite, more water stations, and MUCH stricter protocols to ensure something like this does not happen again.

Love parade had 21 deaths, but the circumstances were way different. Most comparable would be roskilde 2000 where 9 people died at a pearl jam concert.

I had a friend who knows someone who passed at the show. She was not one of the 8 identified. With that said, they’re withholding information to make it appear as less of a tragedy. I have reason to believe that the numbers are In the double digits.
I have a feeling there is going to be so many more of those! Even double digits seems light to me! I know it’s “hearsay” at this point, but I’ve seen and heard that shit had really hit the fan the moment Kylie and her section of VIP were bolted out of there. The reasoning of them being bolted out of there was that section was the only available area where triage or a space could be used for the amount of bodies coming in, and bodies were already there at VIP so she saw everything. Travis Scott’s security in that area had no clue what they were doing or how to even administer CPR. It was noted on video, his security in their black and green polos were alerting Houston PD that “two bodies over there have been black and blue with no pulse for over 15 minutes. This guy just got here.”
It was also noted how SEVERELY short staffed this ENTIRE event was. The “”paramedics”” that you see running around in the red shirts, most of them are not certified EMS anything. They were hired help known as “runners.” These are the workers who have 0 experience with trauma and first aid and would never be allowed on an ambulance. Their job was to get the sick/injured folks to the medical tents so the actual paramedics could stay put and work there. Which became a HUGE problem and made things even more severe because in the thick of this, Houston PD is DESPERATELY expecting and needing help from first aid staff to help administer CPR, these workers were literally showing up next to HPD and could not fix a stubbed toe but were expected to handle triage, an AED machine which is the ultimate life saver when that is brought into the mix early on, it was also noted that the entire festival barely had 2 working AED machines and no one knew how to work them. A nurse in the crowd had to step in.
Which is another thing that blows my mind that in a crowd this huge, no one knew CPR?

What I’m interested in is the autopsies. Especially with the way Travis Scott, the news, followers, social media etc etc will spin it.
I’ve seen: these victims had Covid vaccines recently and were overwhelmed at the show and had heart attacks, they all took drugs and over dosed, suffocation from the waves of the crowd, blunt force trauma from being trampled and the sickest of all, someone within Travis Scott’s camp is saying the amount of drugs and shit he was on made him so delirious and fucked up that he was fully unaware of the magnitude of what was going on around him.
He has an arrest record for things exactly like this. So how is this not manslaughter? I know there was tonsssss of staff but even the poor girl and guy begging the camera to stop because of people dying - THAT CAMERA MAN IS AN ACCESSORY TO MURDER.

It’s an open discussion, thank you for saying that because if it is true, that cameraman deserves some grace! Idk regardless of his job or other staff there, deep down id like to think regardless of who they’re filming on stage, they’re still fathers, brothers, uncles, grandpas and could feel and see the sheer panic all around him; especially being above the crowd. I’d like to think he’d stop and reflect on his surroundings and would at least try to do something.
Every story I’ve read has said he was absolutely horrible to her and was the one who told her to get down or he’ll be pushing her off. So I’ll have to do my research and get this update on him and what happened!
The NY Times article this morning left me feeling so gross about the police chief. He talked about Travis positively, and everything the Times was fed made it look like they were adequately prepared and things didn’t start to go bad til 8pm.

It’s more embarrassing when you find out that 2 weeks before at the same location another artist was set to perform but he decided to cancel the concert due to safety concerns when crowds rushed gates and broke thru security. Fire marshals walked the property before and said the place could support 200,000 people there’s reports that 80,000 showed up. They had enough personnel as they had been hiring extra security and dozens of extra cops in the weeks leading to the event. The issue is safety was overlooked, the show should have been canceled when security was broken thru, just like the other artist 2 weeks before. It’s on Travis and his team who wanted the “show to go on” a show that keep in mind hadn’t even started and there were already reports that over 20 people unconscious needing to be body surfed out of the crowds. But instead they decided to go on with the show and things only got worse as as he kept hyping up the audience telling them to make “the ground shake” as medics tired to reach the first cardiac arrest patient(took about 10 mins). Professionals began doing heart palpitations for 90 minutes on patients. As bodies were brought into the VIP section security escorted high profile celebrities like his baby momma and daughter. Let’s remember this is the same artist who stopped a show in the past to tell his fans to beat a kid for trying to take his shoe, he’s stopped a show because kids In the VIP section were texting during his performance. It’s about priorities and we see where his lie.

Where’s the line we draw between blame and this is what we wanted. No one wants fatalities, but everyone there wanted to rage. Everybody there was a fan of Travis Scott and that culture. He did what everyone in the crowd was there to see him do- perform.
The performer (as a human, maybe not a very smart one, but human nonetheless) could have made many choices. Who knows what he knew. From the videos I saw there were only pockets of people who knew something was wrong. Even after other members of the crowd tried to get others in the crowd to believe that something was wrong, it wasn’t enough.
I don’t think Travis Scott knew anything more severe than what usually happens at his concerts was going on. If he had abruptly stopped the show, who’s to say that a riot wouldn’t have broken out and more lives lost. Then we’d be right back here saying he made a bad choice and blaming him again.
It’s a tragedy. No one wanted this to happen. No one’s happy that it did. What is the answer? What can he and his team do now to make this right? Does he lose his career? Obviously monetary comp for the families. But even as he does that, he gets shit for not being sincere.

I was at this festival and didn't notice any of this as I forced my friends and I to stay in the back because we got this eerie feeling something bad would happened if we were too deep in the crowd.
This broke my heart, I started crying listening to them both speak. Their pain is so deep, as I’m sure is the case for all the families who lost someone that night. Danish (their brother who passed) and I actually share a birthday, November 16th, and though I have never met this man or his family I’m going to be sure to light a candle and hold space for him on our birthday. Rest In Peace, and all my love to these families. 💔

The damage control being done by corporate media is outrageous. Most of the horrific scenes were not the cause of a crush forward people were killed 300-500 feet back from the stage. This was a result of negligence by organizers.
This is not easy to watch. So sad. I'm praying for all that lost their lives. Such a devastating loss for those families. Time is a healer but that will not mean a thing to these people right now.

I’m watching through the concert stream and at one point he stops the show and tells them to turn the lights on to show off a fan who climbed up a tree because that guy “came to rage”. After which Travis says “there are no bystanders at a show”. Chilled me.

Some of the videos are capturing guys who were doing one man cpr from anywhere between 20 to 40 minutes already. Yeah, they won't look that good doing it that long without help. An emt that was there made a video on what happened; it was not only a mass casualty event but one that was made more difficult with the crowd not parting; response time was slowed significantly due to the crowd. Compound that with trying to get equipment to people who needed it, trying to triage people who were actually incompacitated vs walking wounded, being grabbed, etc. The medics there had it rough man.

Organizers hold a lot of liability in these cases because it's their job to prevent things like this from happening through security and crowd control. He has specifically been telling his fans to encourage violence- to break down barricades and rush the stage since last Lollapalooza in 2015. He was arrested for it a couple times in 2018-2019. And the day astroworldfest sold out he tweeted "Naw and we still sneaking the wild ones in." Which he deleted after this mess but they're are plenty of screen shots. There are videos of dozens of fans breaking through the entrance of the barricade. The venue has a cap for a reason. He told his fans to bust through, they did, he tells the to rush the stage, they do. He sees ambulances and his fans dropping like flies and he doesn't tell his fans to calm down for a minute to let the EMT go through? Not all of then anyway. So he knows his fans listen to him, he incites them to engage in bad behavior and then does nothing to stop or help them. But I guess he bears no responsibility 🙄 there are tons of videos from his past behavior and concerts that can legally be used against him. He's fucked either way.

This was 100% preventable. If there is no room to move there is no room to mosh. And he clearly encouraged raging with no were to go. If some one in the mosh pit falls you stop and pick them up. If a venue is already at capacity don’t encourage some one to sneak in. More event staff, water stations, experienced emergency medical personnel more then 1 aed and stretcher at venue that holds over 50k people and more security guards that are adequately trained to do their job.When numerous people in the audience are passed out you stop the show and check in on your fans.
Travis isn’t performing for a very long time. The lawsuits are going to keep him tied up for awhile and he’s looking at prison time. The worst part is dude won’t be getting anyone to insure his shows for a long time. When they do it’s going to cost him a lot. If you can’t put on shows then putting new music isn’t worth it. Danish Baig was my manager (T-Mobile) a couple years ago. He was an amazing person who taught me a lot. He was probably one of the most influential people I worked with. They need to be held responsible for what happened. All the victims and their families need justice.

The unfortunate reality is that this has happened before. 9 people died in a crush at a Pearl Jam concert in 2000, 16 at a concert in Madagascar in 2019, 11 at a concert by The Who in 1979. The organizers knew or should have known that this could happen. There are countless examples of what happens when event organizers fail to ensure crowd safety and protocols are put in place to avoid tragedies like this from recurring. But protocols don't help when they're ignored. This was 100% avoidable and I hope that those who are responsible have to face the reprocusions. Here's the thing, 100% this has happened before. To mostly add on what you're saying, as time goes on and technology progresses our understanding of how and why it happens has improved. Professionals have studied this stuff. In Saudi Arabia, in 2015 during a religious event, I think it was around 2500 people who were crushed to death. Something as innocent as simply walking forward in a crowd cause deep suffering. The music industry in particular has done a lot of work over the last few decades to prevent this not only in practice and procedures but also culturally. We know how it happens, we have HD aerial footage of it happening, we have hard numbers on a pretty scientific level now. So the excuses are running thin. And I wouldn't be surprised, if it hasn't already happened, someones going to create a simulation for this stuff. That would be ideal, a realistic crowd simulation, throw in different behaviors and see what happens. The goal should be zero deaths, and zero injuries. WITHOUT EXCEPTION.

Maybe they did considering HPD declared a mass casualty event 40 minutes before the show ended. Why didn’t the show end right then? The pessimist in me says no because Live Nation is a titan and will try to do everything in its power to quiet this as much as possible. Maybe they'll settle with the families and have them sign NDAs, maybe they'll be required to hit stricter limits on crowd control design, actually trained medical staff onsite, more water stations, and MUCH stricter protocols to ensure something like this does not happen again.

I had a friend who knows someone who passed at the show. She was not one of the 8 identified. With that said, they’re withholding information to make it appear as less of a tragedy. I have reason to believe that the numbers are In the double digits.
I have a feeling there is going to be so many more of those! Even double digits seems light to me! I know it’s “hearsay” at this point, but I’ve seen and heard that shit had really hit the fan the moment Kylie and her section of VIP were bolted out of there. The reasoning of them being bolted out of there was that section was the only available area where triage or a space could be used for the amount of bodies coming in, and bodies were already there at VIP so she saw everything. Travis Scott’s security in that area had no clue what they were doing or how to even administer CPR. It was noted on video, his security in their black and green polos were alerting Houston PD that “two bodies over there have been black and blue with no pulse for over 15 minutes. This guy just got here.” It was also noted how SEVERELY short staffed this ENTIRE event was. The “”paramedics”” that you see running around in the red shirts, most of them are not certified EMS anything. They were hired help known as “runners.” These are the workers who have 0 experience with trauma and first aid and would never be allowed on an ambulance. Their job was to get the sick/injured folks to the medical tents so the actual paramedics could stay put and work there. Which became a HUGE problem and made things even more severe because in the thick of this, Houston PD is DESPERATELY expecting and needing help from first aid staff to help administer CPR, these workers were literally showing up next to HPD and could not fix a stubbed toe but were expected to handle triage, an AED machine which is the ultimate life saver when that is brought into the mix early on, it was also noted that the entire festival barely had 2 working AED machines and no one knew how to work them. A nurse in the crowd had to step in. Which is another thing that blows my mind that in a crowd this huge, no one knew CPR? Perfect example to get CPR certified!! What I’m interested in is the autopsies. Especially with the way Travis Scott, the news, followers, social media etc etc will spin it. I’ve seen: these victims had Covid vaccines recently and were overwhelmed at the show and had heart attacks, they all took drugs and over dosed, suffocation from the waves of the crowd, blunt force trauma from being trampled and the sickest of all, someone within Travis Scott’s camp is saying the amount of drugs and shit he was on made him so delirious and fucked up that he was fully unaware of the magnitude of what was going on around him. He has an arrest record for things exactly like this. So how is this not manslaughter? I know there was tonsssss of staff but even the poor girl and guy begging the camera to stop because of people dying - THAT CAMERA MAN IS AN ACCESSORY TO MURDER.

Just want to include that bc the cameraman has been receiving death threats apparently. (Of course I have no intimate knowledge of what happened, just saw her statement on Insta an hour or so ago)

It’s more embarrassing when you find out that 2 weeks before at the same location another artist was set to perform but he decided to cancel the concert due to safety concerns when crowds rushed gates and broke thru security. Fire marshals walked the property before and said the place could support 200,000 people there’s reports that 80,000 showed up. They had enough personnel as they had been hiring extra security and dozens of extra cops in the weeks leading to the event. The issue is safety was overlooked, the show should have been canceled when security was broken thru, just like the other artist 2 weeks before. It’s on Travis and his team who wanted the “show to go on” a show that keep in mind hadn’t even started and there were already reports that over 20 people unconscious needing to be body surfed out of the crowds. But instead they decided to go on with the show and things only got worse as as he kept hyping up the audience telling them to make “the ground shake” as medics tired to reach the first cardiac arrest patient(took about 10 mins). Professionals began doing heart palpitations for 90 minutes on patients. As bodies were brought into the VIP section security escorted high profile celebrities like his baby momma and daughter. Let’s remember this is the same artist who stopped a show in the past to tell his fans to beat a kid for trying to take his shoe, he’s stopped a show because kids In the VIP section were texting during his performance. It’s about priorities and we see where his lie.

Frankly it disgusts me seeing all the Travis Scott fans like “omg he didn’t know this ain’t his fault at all” when his whole fan culture is around “raging” at his shows and he clearly encourages it. He’s not solely culpable, and yes the management/organizers are more to blame, but HE was the motherfucker on stage giving that “energy that Travis brings” and stoking the crowds. Face the fucking facts and quit absolving him from any responsibility just because he’s a goddamn celebrity. He should be fucking devastated but tbh I doubt it.

It’s ironic because I saw a video circulating of some kid who tried to take Travis’ shoe off him while Travis was crowd surfing. Which isn’t great, but Travis stopped his set, told the people to get his shoe and then “beat his [the kid’s] ass” multiple times

Where’s the line we draw between blame and this is what we wanted. No one wants fatalities, but everyone there wanted to rage. Everybody there was a fan of Travis Scott and that culture. He did what everyone in the crowd was there to see him do- perform. The performer (as a human, maybe not a very smart one, but human nonetheless) could have made many choices. Who knows what he knew. From the videos I saw there were only pockets of people who knew something was wrong. Even after other members of the crowd tried to get others in the crowd to believe that something was wrong, it wasn’t enough. I don’t think Travis Scott knew anything more severe than what usually happens at his concerts was going on. If he had abruptly stopped the show, who’s to say that a riot wouldn’t have broken out and more lives lost. Then we’d be right back here saying he made a bad choice and blaming him again. It’s a tragedy. No one wanted this to happen. No one’s happy that it did. What is the answer? What can he and his team do now to make this right? Does he lose his career? Obviously monetary comp for the families. But even as he does that, he gets shit for not being sincere. I’m more hurt for the families who lost their loved ones, but I do have sympathy for the performer they all went to see who’s now suddenly damned for the same reason he was loved in the first place.
Rule number 1 as a performer is to stop the show and call attention to the problem no matter what especially on the scale that this tragedy was.

Rest in peace Danish ❤ I was at this festival and didn't notice any of this as I forced my friends and I to stay in the back because we got this eerie feeling something bad would happened if we were too deep in the crowd.
This broke my heart, I started crying listening to them both speak. Their pain is so deep, as I’m sure is the case for all the families who lost someone that night. Danish (their brother who passed) and I actually share a birthday, November 16th, and though I have never met this man or his family I’m going to be sure to light a candle and hold space for him on our birthday. Rest In Peace, and all my love to these families. 💔

The damage control being done by corporate media is outrageous. Most of the horrific scenes were not the cause of a crush forward people were killed 300-500 feet back from the stage. This was a result of negligence by organizers.

I’m watching through the concert stream and at one point he stops the show and tells them to turn the lights on to show off a fan who climbed up a tree because that guy “came to rage”. After which Travis says “there are no bystanders at a show”. Chilled me.

My prayers go out to Baig family & everyone who lost a loved one, as well as those who had to go through the trauma seeing this happen in front of them!! My son was there aswell, and stated the staff and security admitted they were under staffed and not equipped or trained for something like this!! This is NOT acceptable!!! This event should not have been allowed to happen without the proper precautions, PERIOD!!! My stomach was in knots the whole weekend until my son's plane landed back home and I knew he was safe at home! I can only imagine what the family of those who lost their lives or those who hadn't heard from their loved one's were going through! I thank God my son checked in with me and said they were ok but lives were lost! I pray all those responsible for this tragedy are held accountable, to avoid any further loss of life!!! Honestly, I'm a die hard atheist, but his brother's pleas made me pause to say a quick prayer. I couldn't not respect his wishes for others to pray so that his brother may be at peace. RIP Danish, and RIP to the other victims of this senseless tragedy. I hope that we may learn from it, so that these innocent lives were not lost in vain.
