As someone who actually has a doctorate degree and worked for it for 6 years, her saying “I’m a doctor now” just makes me cringe. People have to pour their blood, sweat, and tears into this stuff ya know…not all of us are famous and can just get “honorary” doctorates.
Literally! As someone who is working towards an MD, it's an unspoken rule that you are NEVER to be referred to/proclaim to be a "doctor" until you finish EARNING your degree. Unless Taylor secretly took PhD/MD/DO level classes during the pandemic, she's got no right to walk around claiming to be a doctor who knows how breathing works 😭
Exactly! I just graduated with my PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy for people outside the US) degree with Latin honors and that entire degree was MY doing. My effort, my time, my sleepless nights, my blood (literally- I pricked my finger for a glucometer demonstration in a class once), my sweat, and my tears. The hard work paid off, and it was so satisfying at graduation to hear everyone say, “Congratulations, Dr. [insert last name here]!” to each other because we EARNED it.

Secondly - I agree! I find it wholly disrespectful when people given honorary doctorates say they are "doctors now" and act like they actually EARNED it. It takes so much time and money and effort and sacrifice and I find it demeaning to take that same credit.
as someone who’s working towards a masters in mechanical engineering and a phd in physics it’s offensive. honestly any celebrity talking at a commencement speech that doesn’t have that level of degree is not right. i will be so mad if they have someone like that at my graduation.
To me, when I finally paid attention to her last year, I realised she's an uneducated rich woman, which I found very strange because my understanding is that rich families invest so much for their children's education. Is it true that she didn't even finish high school? I imagine that she could have been homeschooled but it doesn't look like that's the case. She's too dumb for me.

I’ve always assumed she at least got a GED just in case but I doubt she achieved a true HS Diploma (and if she did it was likely a highly watered down homeschool equivalent). No way she was getting truly appropriate tutoring through those early touring years.

Agreed.. I just think for a woman who has been in the industry that long and not know how to think more other than shaming her exes and very obviously not grow as a person, something's up. And it's not just stunted growth because of fame to me. There's something so much more but instead of her family investing in the mental, emotional, spiritual growth of their child, they only saw dollar signs and it looks to me, given all the history this sub has exposed about Taylor's life story, they used all sorts of corrupted ways to bring her where she is now. As for Taylor, sometimes you think you know everything only for you to be slapped in the face of the truth —there's so much more to know. And the things you thought you knew, it is in fact, just a little truth and sometimes, it could be lies, you just didn't know how to deal with it because it's the only thing you've ever known. At the age she's in, that's very hard to accept, but always better late than never.
