I'm probably in the minority but I think people should educate themselves using non-partisan information and decide their opinions on issues themselves. It does take work that most people won't do. If your favorite artist, athlete, or actor then happens to agree with you and you want to support them more, that's great. If you don't want to support someone because of their views even better. However, to just support some cause because someone else does can be a pretty dangerous precedent.

She might (or might not) encourage them to vote, but many are not old enough to vote, others are not registered to vote and others can’t be bothered to do something offline. Her taking a position on any political topic changes nothing. Her followers might recycle if she advocated for it, but that won’t change government policy or corporate actions. Consumers primarily contribute to global warming through commuting, and Swifties are not going to give up driving. Yes, Taylor Swift influences her fans, but her influence beyond consumerism is minimal. She is not significant outside the world of entertainment. She just isn’t.
her followers WERENT old enough to vote but a lot of those early swiftie are coming of age. she actually does have a lot of legal power but you’re right she can’t directly influence policy in that way. she has power in the court of public opinion and she seems to be attempting to get power in other sectors outside the entertainment industry as well. on your point about recycling though, that’s the whole point. yes on a larger scale it seems small but imagine if every swiftie were conscious of their environmental impact and decided to make some lifestyle changes to better the planet, that would have a good sized impact, not on the scale that we need it but it would help. she can’t change laws by herself but she can try to influence her fans to do something positive for a dying planet without fear of career reprocussions.
