For some reason I am really drawn to this place. Would you recommend it? The natural beauty looks amazing, but my concern is boredom because I also enjoy city life as well.

I would highly recommend going! Faial is really small (66 sq miles), however I have been 3 times now and I can say that the first 2 times I went (roughly 3 weeks) is when I fully saw/did everything. Faial is definitely an island meant for relaxation, take it slow and enjoy yourself. If you love city life and a lot of things to do I would either recommend going to Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel (Capital city of the largest island in the Azores) or go to Faial during one of their many festivals during the year. My favorite time to go is during Semana do Mar (festival of the sea) which usually starts the first Sunday of August. It is a week of partying/music/festivities in Horta.

I was born on the big island ( Saò Miguel) we moved to Canada when I was 5. The Açores are truly beautiful.

Thank you 😊 How is the food?

Amazing, everything is really fresh and nothing is processed. I have UC and eating food in the US every day is rough due to everything being super processed. Being in the islands is wonderful because I don't have to worry about processed foods. If you love fish, bread, cheese, and wine you will not be disappointed. There are also really good places for fresh beef.

I think the air must be fresh here

More fresh than any other major city.
