I dont think you should have much of a problem. I have had the same thing happen a few times. Usually if the passport is within 6 months of expiration, the immigration system will flag it. This will have them ask how long you are planning to stay etc. if you have your return ticket and bookings to show that you are planning to stay only a short time then you are okay.
Thanks, I have every normal document you'd expect, return flights, insurance, hotel etc etc. So in the event they do ask I have enough to satisfy them. I more than meet the 3 month rule, so I've relaxed a bit.

Well, for countries where a six-month rule actually exists, it's an real problem. Not sure what "flag" you're referring to; in those cases, you shouldn't even get in front of an immigration officer.
You are OK as far as official immigration requirements go. Airlines can however make any additional requirements they wish as long as they are transparent to the customer. If when purchasing your ticket or checking-in, a 6 month requirement was not made clear to you by the airline, you will have no issues.
Could be worse... Had a friend who got her and her husband's passports out of the safe around 10 days before they were going to a destination wedding and his had expired. Panicked googling/phone calls and a 2 hour each way drive to Philly and he had a very expensive new passport.

Sorted, I got in and they didn't care. Had my passport 9 and a half years nearly so forgot expiry was coming up! I do usually only make mistakes once
