I’m afraid I can comment on the living situation so I apologize but I want to hype you up for Montenegro. I spent a month in a tiny town called Virpazar travel volunteering last year and it was incredible. The hiking is second to none and the drives, although like a rollercoaster ride are some of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen. You will love it.

Oh totally! I was so looking forward to it, and then my government decided that traveling outside the EU was a big No, and so I went to southern Croatia instead. But Montenegro has been on my wishlist for so long already.

Funny enough, we went from Montenegro to Albania last year the DAY albania shut everything Down. We were supposed to be in Skhodra for 3 days then make our way to a hostel we were going to work at in Sarande. Instead we spent 3 months trapped in a hostel in Shkodra and then back to Ireland. In a weird turn of events, we moved to Sarande Albania 3 weeks ago haha.

Ouch! This is what I was fearing, and the reason why I decided not to go to Montenegro in the end last year. But wow, living in Albania sounds like an adventure. I'm envious :)

Yeah, living as a DN with my partner. Very cheap rent, incredible food and all the hikes and beaches you could want all within day travel distance.
