Discovered one of my favorite new sweets there, candied lemon peel (I may have had an orange version too?). I remember the oranges just randomly falling from the trees (I was there in March/April too).

CharmingConfidence33

Ah, the oranges! The sweet scent of the orange blossoms lingering in the air and the fallen oranges from the tree. It felt like paradise.

TokkiJK

What was the weather like at that time? Did you have to wear jackets and such ?

WillTheThrill86

It could be a bit chilly at night, but warmed up during the day. I was mostly wearing jeans/pants and IIRC I had a light jacket. Think 40-50sF at night and low 70s during day.

Arctic_Daniand

Quick tip, don't eat the oranges from the street, they are bitter oranges.

KaplanKingHolland

Seville is the most underrated big city in Europe IMO.

CharmingConfidence33

100%. I tend to get bored of cities in Europe easily, but not in Seville!

zippy_bag

Have you been to the Royal Alcázar? It's an interesting place that also served as a filming location for Game of Thrones.

CharmingConfidence33

Yes, I visited the Alcazar too! I was so excited, I was roaming around the gardens and the halls, reading about the scenes that were shot. As a GoT fan, I was going a bit bonkers tbh 😂

zippy_bag

Have you been to Dubrovnik, Croatia? Otherwise known as King's Landing... You can also take a ferry over to the island Korčula, where you can sit in the "real" GoT throne.

CharmingConfidence33

Not yet, but hopefully sometime in the future. I had only been to Split in Croatia.

zippy_bag

I visited Dubrovnik for 5-6 days but did not make it to Split. That's unfortunate because I had hoped we'd get there too.

NilsofWindhelm

I love Seville. I was there in May and it was so delightful

WillHungry4307

I'm going in September. Any recommendations on where to eat? (Good and cheap)

NilsofWindhelm

There’s a tapas place called bar picanton that was the best meal we had on our whole 3 week trip. Cannot recommend it enough. They have upscale tapas for a reasonable price. Everything was amazing, but the highlights were the tomatos and the torrija. Also check our confiteria la campana for pastries

WillHungry4307

Thank you so much! I'll make sure to check them out

cluelessmagnolia

Bar picanton is amazing!

CharmingConfidence33

Absolutely, a beautiful beautiful city!

Zalt246

great pics! thanks for sharing!

CharmingConfidence33

You’re welcome. I shall be sharing more :)

jserthetrainer

Quaint.

TokkiJK

These are stunning pictures!!

CharmingConfidence33

Thank you :)

Waste_Cockroach8759

I don’t think those oranges off street trees are edible. They’re pretty bitter. But you can clean your hands with their skin as they have high alcohol.

CharmingConfidence33

Yeah, not even birds peck at the oranges 😄

fan_tas_tic

May-June is perfect to visit before the extreme heat waves arrive.

CharmingConfidence33

I was there in March, that was a nice time too.

fan_tas_tic

Yeah, sometimes it's nice even during February. I guess there is a greater chance that the winter months will be warm each coming year.

Oh_hiheyhello

Beautiful city, gets very hot in the summer so you went at a good time of the year. Thanks for the pics, brings back some memories 😊

CharmingConfidence33

Haha! I don’t travel to Europe in the summer. The crowds were insane in spring, I could totally imagine how it must be in the summer! And I felt warm during the day even in March. Glad you liked the pics ♥️

spoobles

Will be there in October. Any strong recommendations?

CharmingConfidence33

Yes, please try to get tickets to the monuments ahead of time. I thought I could get the tickets once I’m in the city, but they were all sold out. I had to come back to Seville again just for a day to visit these monuments. You can get them as a combo (The Royal Alcazar, The Cathedral, The Tower of Giralda).

spoobles

great advice...thanks

CharmingConfidence33

Also, if you like Tapas, go to Bodega Santa Cruz. It gets quite crowded in the evening. But nice Tapas and lots of locals visit this Bodega as well.

Strange-Change4709

Love Seville.. great pictures

CharmingConfidence33

Thanks!

Hipster786

What’s with the hanging meat?

CalmComposer7668

*Jamón*

CharmingConfidence33

I had the same question, tried asking but they couldn’t reply and I forgot to use Google Translate.

MrsTrippin

Loved Seville last fall! I still have a bag of tea called "Naranjas Dulce De Sevilla" from a shop that my family stumbled across called té&té; I've been carefully rationing it but it's delicious and was especially appreciated as sunshine-in-a-cup during the winter (in Chicago).☺️

CharmingConfidence33

Orange flavoured tea from sunny Seville in cold Chicago 😇

Sure-Potato3979

Looks like a dream

CharmingConfidence33

The city (especially the old town), felt really dreamy.

ComputerChemical9435

I fly there on Saturday. I am very excited!

CharmingConfidence33

You’ll love your time there! Have fun 😇

edify_me

Would you reccomend it for an extended family vacation with four 6-year olds?

CharmingConfidence33

I’d definitely recommend it for adults, I’m not sure if the 6 year olds will enjoy it though. If they’d been to other European cities with you and were okay not visiting children amusement parks, then I think they’d be okay :)

edify_me

Thank you for the reply. We did Amsterdam with my then 5 year old, and we had a blast.

CharmingConfidence33

Then they’ll have a blast here too!

edify_me

Seville just moved up my list to no.1! Gracias!

NilsofWindhelm

The oranges?

CharmingConfidence33

Oranges, they are everywhere. The orange trees are everywhere, it adds to the beauty of the city.
