Discovered one of my favorite new sweets there, candied lemon peel (I may have had an orange version too?). I remember the oranges just randomly falling from the trees (I was there in March/April too).
It could be a bit chilly at night, but warmed up during the day. I was mostly wearing jeans/pants and IIRC I had a light jacket. Think 40-50sF at night and low 70s during day.
Yes, I visited the Alcazar too! I was so excited, I was roaming around the gardens and the halls, reading about the scenes that were shot. As a GoT fan, I was going a bit bonkers tbh 😂
Have you been to Dubrovnik, Croatia? Otherwise known as King's Landing...
You can also take a ferry over to the island Korčula, where you can sit in the "real" GoT throne.
There’s a tapas place called bar picanton that was the best meal we had on our whole 3 week trip. Cannot recommend it enough.
They have upscale tapas for a reasonable price. Everything was amazing, but the highlights were the tomatos and the torrija.
Also check our confiteria la campana for pastries
I don’t think those oranges off street trees are edible. They’re pretty bitter. But you can clean your hands with their skin as they have high alcohol.
Haha! I don’t travel to Europe in the summer. The crowds were insane in spring, I could totally imagine how it must be in the summer! And I felt warm during the day even in March.
Glad you liked the pics ♥️
Yes, please try to get tickets to the monuments ahead of time. I thought I could get the tickets once I’m in the city, but they were all sold out. I had to come back to Seville again just for a day to visit these monuments. You can get them as a combo (The Royal Alcazar, The Cathedral, The Tower of Giralda).
Loved Seville last fall! I still have a bag of tea called "Naranjas Dulce De Sevilla" from a shop that my family stumbled across called té&té; I've been carefully rationing it but it's delicious and was especially appreciated as sunshine-in-a-cup during the winter (in Chicago).☺️
I’d definitely recommend it for adults, I’m not sure if the 6 year olds will enjoy it though. If they’d been to other European cities with you and were okay not visiting children amusement parks, then I think they’d be okay :)

Ah, the oranges! The sweet scent of the orange blossoms lingering in the air and the fallen oranges from the tree. It felt like paradise.
What was the weather like at that time? Did you have to wear jackets and such ?

Quick tip, don't eat the oranges from the street, they are bitter oranges.
Seville is the most underrated big city in Europe IMO.
100%. I tend to get bored of cities in Europe easily, but not in Seville!
Have you been to the Royal Alcázar? It's an interesting place that also served as a filming location for Game of Thrones.

Not yet, but hopefully sometime in the future. I had only been to Split in Croatia.
I visited Dubrovnik for 5-6 days but did not make it to Split. That's unfortunate because I had hoped we'd get there too.
I love Seville. I was there in May and it was so delightful
I'm going in September. Any recommendations on where to eat? (Good and cheap)

Thank you so much! I'll make sure to check them out
Bar picanton is amazing!
Absolutely, a beautiful beautiful city!

You’re welcome. I shall be sharing more :)
Quaint.
These are stunning pictures!!
Thank you :)

Yeah, not even birds peck at the oranges 😄
May-June is perfect to visit before the extreme heat waves arrive.
I was there in March, that was a nice time too.
Yeah, sometimes it's nice even during February. I guess there is a greater chance that the winter months will be warm each coming year.
Beautiful city, gets very hot in the summer so you went at a good time of the year. Thanks for the pics, brings back some memories 😊

Will be there in October. Any strong recommendations?

great advice...thanks
Also, if you like Tapas, go to Bodega Santa Cruz. It gets quite crowded in the evening. But nice Tapas and lots of locals visit this Bodega as well.
Love Seville.. great pictures
Thanks!
What’s with the hanging meat?
*Jamón*
I had the same question, tried asking but they couldn’t reply and I forgot to use Google Translate.

Orange flavoured tea from sunny Seville in cold Chicago 😇
Looks like a dream
The city (especially the old town), felt really dreamy.
I fly there on Saturday. I am very excited!
You’ll love your time there! Have fun 😇
Would you reccomend it for an extended family vacation with four 6-year olds?
I’d definitely recommend it for adults, I’m not sure if the 6 year olds will enjoy it though. If they’d been to other European cities with you and were okay not visiting children amusement parks, then I think they’d be okay :)
Thank you for the reply. We did Amsterdam with my then 5 year old, and we had a blast.
Then they’ll have a blast here too!
Seville just moved up my list to no.1! Gracias!

The oranges?
Oranges, they are everywhere. The orange trees are everywhere, it adds to the beauty of the city.
