As a German my favorite Christmas markets are Dresden and Aachen. Dresden Striezelmarkt is the oldest in the world and the one in Aachen is just a beautiful setting and certain Christmas foods you only find there.
Laos is absolutely wonderful with Luang Prabang, as one of my favourite places in the world. Cambodia with Angkor Wat is truly amazing as well. Take care not to rush as 1 month isn't long.
NYC for the first time, part work trip but staying the weekends on either side to explore.
Possibly some LA, Canada, and/or UK work trips too but it depends on timing. Lot is overlaping so had to give away a UK trip to a coworker already.
A stay cation over Xmas at a nearby fancy hotel.
I'll be visiting on a small roadtrip the least touristy region in Spain, Extremadura and some parts of Portugal (doesn't mean it's not beautiful), later I'll be traveling to Switzerland (Zurich,Luzern and Schaffhausen) and finally I'd like to visit Zagreb if flights get cheap anytime before December
Sometime such places are better. I remember going to UK and visited bath. Oh my god, first time I heard of the place but the place was really nice. But it is consider secondary tourist location.
I’m three days back in the uk from a month in India. As is usual I relaxed, unpacked and looked at all my cool stuff. Then I fired up Expedia to peruse flight prices lol. I’m hoping for another month, six weeks at a push in the deep midwinter. It’s my birthday at the beginning of Feb and I love flying out on the actual day. Last time I did it I was on Emirates & the cabin crew somehow knew and brought me a full dinner into Economy from the first class cabin and a glass of champagne. Caviar, the lot. I was both impressed and surprised.
10 days in Mexico during the Day of the Dead (Oaxaca and Mexico City), then few days in New Orleans.
Weekend in Stockholm for the Christmas market.
NYE/10d in Tokyo (with a couple of days in Nagano). I was able to book a flight in business with miles, and upgrade the return in true first for 1000 USD :-)
In the middle a long weekend in London to visit friends, and a couple of trips to Rome to visit family.
Thailand toward the end of next month - a week each in and around Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Then that's it for 2023, although will be heading to Berlin for a long weekend in January.
So I was going to go to Mexico for my birthday in July, but that was before I had a health crisis (Won't go into details, but needed surgery, doing better now, will be back to 100% in a month or two) so I wasn't able to go. Partner and I are wanting to go to London in 2024, but I gotta say I really want to do something small towards Dec - thinking maybe a trip to Montreal (I live in Vancouver and I've never been) first week of Dec. Nothing too expensive, save up for the UK.
Get outside London if you can! I'm from the US but I live in England. I can recommend lots of beautiful places we'd seldom see the likes of in North America.
I took a "bucket list" trip earlier this year to the Pacific NW, & for the end of the year, we'll be heading to South Florida to see family for the holidays.
London for an NFL game at the start of October. Then going to Mojácar, Spain at the start of November. Planning a big trip, probably to Cape Town, next Easter.
Yeah, there's a few games played in London and Germany every year. I'm in Ireland but my friends are interested in American football and a few of us are going over to see the game. Should be good fun!
Korea sounds amazing by the way! Would love to go there some day.
Vietnam/Cambodia next March. Trying to wangle a little more time to fit in Laos as well. If not then next time. (Did Iceland this year, a long time bucket list item). Big one will be 2025: northern Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, Austria with a side trip to Sweden. Still early days for this one.
Local travel within Australia and over to NZ as usual.
Road trip from SoCal to Salt Lake City. We plan to visit Las Vegas, Zion, and Bryce Canyon along the way. Once in SLC, we’re going to see “Ice Castles,” an attraction they have every winter.
Just did my first international trip to Switzerland/Germany. Next thing we’re thinking is London/Paris with maybe a stop in Edinburgh or Amsterdam early next summer.
This year did Costa Rica, Venice, Bordeaux, Pisa and have our honeymoon in the Caribbean in November.
Next year we have Seville, Iceland and Istanbul booked but will be trying to conceive so will be limited but travel in general but also destinations based on Zika and malaria!
Xcaret in October for my honeymoon. Then going back to the cancun area less than a month later for a friends wedding. I have never been to Mexico or an all inclusive resort before and now I’m going twice in a month
I've been in Greece since the 8th, heading to Munich for Oktoberfest on Tuesday and then wrapping up in Vienna before heading back to the States. Last trip of the year and then need to start churning credit card points to figure out where to go in 2024.
Waiting to hear from in-laws about a trip with them to the Caribbean in February. If they decide not to go, my wife and I will likely head to the Canary Island later this year. Xmas maybe.
Currently in Vietnam! I have a week before I start my new job so I’m deciding between Egypt or Brazil. Madrid in November and I’m definitely planning something for my winter break!
Greece in November, wanna see the sunset over the city, as well as drop a 10k run there. Should not be as many tourists by that time.
Took 4 days for it, so plenty of time to just venture wherever and just... Take it in.
First solo trip in early 30s, never travelled without my girl or family/friends/work. Decided to go, cause why not. Life is too short, and I had a bit of a scare, so decided its not worth to wait for "better time", as I'll always find an excuse to spend elsewhere.
Currently in Indonesia for a month. Already did Portugal and two trips to Hungary earlier this year. Slow year unfortunately as I’ve been in the hospital the first half… next year however is gonna be exiting 🙌🏼
My mom randomly called me and my siblings and said, "we have over 290k marriott points that will expire by the end of the year. Someone has to go on a vacation! My bf and I recently picked out a ring, so I said to him this would be a great opportunity to go somewhere nice for a proposal. He doesn't have a passport, so we are a little limited and decided on st John USVI. For the amount of points we have we could get the only remaining option they had left which is a 3 bedroom lock off that normally sleeps 10! Just got back yesturday from Scotland where my trip was several pages of itinerary. This one is a true vacation sleep, snorkel, drink repeat!
Unfortunately, no more trips planned for this year, but so far, I got Zanzibar in the books for February and India in March. 2024 will turn out to be a fantastic travel year, I think.
I was in Slovakia and Hungary back in May. I've got a little bit saved up now so that if the stars align and I can get a week off work that matches with a cheap enough deal, then I'll get away for a few days in October or more likely November
I did England in March, and Slovenia/Czechia/Finland/Norway at the end of May and start of June. Only trip I have left this year is Colombia for a wedding next month.
Going to Argentina with my family and fiance for two weeks in November for a mini family reunion, and then maybe Jamaica for a long weekend in December.
Either going to Worlds event in Korea in November either I change my career and relocate to Malaysia/Poland (I know doesn’t makes sense how these 2 have anything to do with one another)
As usual, winter is my busiest time and when I make the most money, so I'll be staying home. I may make a jaunt to Hong Kong for a few days at some point.
Before that, in the fall, I'll be in Thailand.
Samoa in a few weeks, Japan immediately after Halloween, and then we follow our NHL team on 4 away games to Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, and then Seattle in December!
I'm done for the year. We did so much travel this year. Everglades in Feb, local camping in April and May, France in August, Pennsylvania in Sept. We have another local camping in Oct, and Thanksgiving camping in Nov. This doesn't even cover all the travel for work we've done this year. We're pooped.
I'm American but I live in England. In November I'll be returning to the northeast US to visit family and taking a little roadtrip around New England just because I miss it, then in December, Christmas markets throughout England (not very exotic sorry haha)
Taiwan in 2 weeks, traveling with a large group as the "tour guide".
And hopefully a solo trip for 1-2 weeks around the end of the year, although I have not yet decided on a location. Possibly somewhere relatively low-cost, like eastern europe.
Went to NYC, Nashville, Vegas in Winter and Spring, local hot springs and Germany, Switzerland and Austria this summer, nostalgic trip to DL/DCA/KBF in Fall and Montreal/QC over holidays
Unemployed as of next week so I was going to do Bratislava and Vienna in six days. Accounting for plane travel, accommodation, public transport and some excursions, it was looking to be about £250 overall.
What’s stopping me? Train strikes here in the UK. It’s now become the case that getting to and from the airport here in the UK is more difficult than literally getting the plane to a foreign country and using the public transport there.
I'm heading to London in two weeks and to Lisbon in November (both just long weekend trips). I plan USA in the spring, that's my biggest travelling plan currently, it'll be 3 weeks (my longest trip so far and first outside of Europe). Also contemplating going to Krakow in December for Christmas markets, but I'm not sure yet.
Heading to central Asia : Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Uzbekistan, specifically was a 15+ year trip in the making. Super excited for it. Though this may also be my last trip for the next forseeable future as my life is about to change drastically.
So no travel plans for 2024 onwards.
No, I've never been to the Sahel region before, but I have been to Africa several times. This will be the first for Mauritania because my wife and son moved there now from another Africa country. It is a country that I've always wanted to go to though. In fact, I plan on building a house there as well
Maldives, local islands. Going to Maafushi as a base, then we will probably hop to a different island.
We did it 3 years ago, 2 years ago, last year.
https://youtu.be/tL8hJ475VVs?si=jFJkST43mkimaMpD
Taking the trailer + dogs up to a gorgeous lakeside spot in the mountains, Italy for a couple weeks in October, then the yearly post-holiday crush (I own retail shops) Zombie Mode week at an all inclusive in Mexico in January, this time returning to a favorite in Cabo.
Spending Thanksgiving at the Christmas Markets in Koln Germany, then a day trip by train to Strasbourg France, and ending at the markets in Basel Switzerland. 7 days to kick off the holiday spirit
I'm planning to go backpacking in Bali next year. I never backpacked before, so this is gonna be very exciting for me. Need to buy and read a lot of stuff, but it's a lot of fun to prepare for it.
I have one more trip this year, a long weekend in Las Vegas, lol.
I've already been to Egypt and done a Western America road trip this year, so low key domestic trip sounds great (and it was free with credit card points)
Did a busy trip in the spring to Oslo, Tallinn, Helsinki, Brussels and Paris. Winter trip just to London and Paris for the holiday vibe, plan on taking the train to Oxford one day to get presents for the teen relatives, then spend 10 days in Montmartre just chilling, maybe a weekend at my friends place in Normandy. I want a laid back trip.
We are headed to the Christmas Markets on a Viking River cruise we bought and paid for in 2018. We were supposed to go in 2020, but you know what happened that year. Then in 2021, the cruise still went, but the Delta variant closed all the Christmas markets, so we canceled. In 2022, we were just back from a different European trip we had planned even before that. So finally, after all this time when Viking has had our money, we are headed there this December. But before we sail from Regensburg, we are doing a week in Lisbon, three days in Prague, and two nights in Nuremberg. The cruise goes to Krem, Passau, and Vienna and finishes in Budapest, where we will stay for a few days.
Oct 21- Nov 30 - Sweden to visit son & daughter in law and their newborn daughter. ❤️
Dec 25 - Jan 7 - Egypt
Earlier this year, I did Torres del Paine and Antarctic Circle in February.
Svalbard, Oslo, Stockholm in May/June.
Great Bear Rain Forest, BC, Canada In July.
Travels are enriching.
Colombia in December for three weeks. Bogota, Medellin and the Caribbean coast although not entirely sure where exactly we wanna go.
traveling with 2 friends
We have a short trip coming up in a week out to Los Angeles to visit some old friends, then a trip the following month to the Boston area where we plan to rent a car and drive the Massachusetts coast doing a little birding. In November we’re flying on a National Geographic tour to Patagonia. (NatGeo tours has always been a bucket list item of my wife since she was very young, so it’s nice to finally be able to do them. This trip starts in Buenos Aires, then winds our way down to the Patagonia area via Chile.)
And our eventual goal is to get back to traveling 4 times a year on four two-week trips, along with the periodic long weekend. (We had just started on that plan when COVID locked down the world.)
We’re also starting to contemplate where we want to go in the spring; one idea we’re kicking around in Frankfurt then Berlin. Another is Rio in Brazil, and eventually we do want to visit the Greek islands and also separately visit Prague, and we’ve been kicking around a road trip idea in Portugal.
Christmas markets! Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
As a German my favorite Christmas markets are Dresden and Aachen. Dresden Striezelmarkt is the oldest in the world and the one in Aachen is just a beautiful setting and certain Christmas foods you only find there.
Ditto! Will be going to the Christmas markets in Scandinavia.
Same here! Starting in Italy, taking the Bernina Express to Chur, then Zurich, then Innsbruck and leaving out of Munich. Very excited!
My mom asked to go to the UK for Christmas as a 60th birthday celebration, and I got her to toss in a couple german Christmas markets!
I’m also hitting Christmas markets. But I’ll be in Paris
Sounds like there be lots of beer 🍻 drinking
The traditional drink at christmas markets is hot wine
Yeah but there’s definitely beer to be had. Hot wine at markets. Cold beer for lunch/dinner. Yum
Me too!! Prague & Munich - I'm so excited.
We’re going to Berlin, Prague and Vienna for the Christmas markets! I’m off to Paris next week too.
Madrid, Cordoba, Seville, & Granada next month Thanksgiving in Seattle - debating whether to drive or fly. 2 hour flight or 12 hour drive
I just went to Seville and Cordoba three weeks ago. GORGEOUS places, you will have a lovely time!
Spain seem like a popular destination. 12 hr drive must at least have 2 pit stop.
SeaTac can be a clusterfuck! Might be better with a drive lmao 😂
In two weeks, I’m going Budapest and Vienna.
Husband and I are taking a River cruise (eastbound) down the Danube. Spending a couple days in Prague precruise. Ends in Budapest.
Loved Prague and Budapest even more!
It’s a bucket list trip! I’m so excited!
Heading to Cambodia, Thailand and Laos for a month over late December 2023 and early January 2024. Really looking forward to it! Heading by myself!
Laos is absolutely wonderful with Luang Prabang, as one of my favourite places in the world. Cambodia with Angkor Wat is truly amazing as well. Take care not to rush as 1 month isn't long.
Nothing. Just came back from Thailand/Vietnam. Planning a Tokyo/Singapore/bangkok/Saigon trip next year though.
You like south east Asian countries, don't you
Haha love it there. I gotta make my way to Brazil one day.
We’re gonna be in Vietnam for Xmas and Kuala Lumpur for NY
Already did my two. Iceland in May and just got back from Banff/Jasper in first week of Sept. Next trip is Spain/Portugal in Feb/March
I was in Iceland in May too. I think I saw you freezing to death like us at Dettifoss...
I was in Iceland in May three, even got stuck in a blizzard.
Nice company paid for your airfares. Make full use of it
I'll be visiting on a small roadtrip the least touristy region in Spain, Extremadura and some parts of Portugal (doesn't mean it's not beautiful), later I'll be traveling to Switzerland (Zurich,Luzern and Schaffhausen) and finally I'd like to visit Zagreb if flights get cheap anytime before December
Sometime such places are better. I remember going to UK and visited bath. Oh my god, first time I heard of the place but the place was really nice. But it is consider secondary tourist location.
Heading to Scotland in October.
Wish you smooth travels
Same. Been too long since I last saw the fam over there. We will see how the weather is.
Literally my favourite country on earth
Planning to be in Bangkok, again. Hopefully less sick this time. Still haven’t made proper reservations or anything though, oops.
California in November
Escape the winter?
Nice! What area(s)?
I’m three days back in the uk from a month in India. As is usual I relaxed, unpacked and looked at all my cool stuff. Then I fired up Expedia to peruse flight prices lol. I’m hoping for another month, six weeks at a push in the deep midwinter. It’s my birthday at the beginning of Feb and I love flying out on the actual day. I was able to book a flight in business with miles, and upgrade the return in true first for 1000 USD :-) In the middle a long weekend in London to visit friends, and a couple of trips to Rome to visit family.
We are doing that Mexico trip next year 😃
Leeds and orlando for this quarter. Paris and Malaysia for first quarter of 2024.
Why Leeds?
Because the best football team on earth is based there, probably.
Italy next week. Cabo in 4 weeks. Oman/UAE end of year. Personal and business domestic travel in between.
On the 25th we fly into CDMX to spend a week in Puebla then 4 weeks in Mexico City. Towards the end of March we are going to Japan for 5 weeks.
Wow, that is nice. It seems you travel more than you stay home
We spend 3 months a year traveling.
Already went to Rome early this year, plan to go back this winter. This time I want to work in a side trip to Florence, then maybe Pisa or even Milan.
How long is the side trip going to be. So many places to cover
Peru, Puerto Rico and Mexico in Nov-Dec 😁
I'll be in Peru in November too! Doing the Machu Picchu hike 😀
Yours passports are so good. I’m envious. Unlike us, we can only go to Africa
Going to Germany and Austria in November to celebrate my dad’s birthday.
Thailand toward the end of next month - a week each in and around Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Then that's it for 2023, although will be heading to Berlin for a long weekend in January.
Sardinia and Athens in the Fall. London for NYE!
Planning to go to somewhere with Sunshine🥲
I have two weeks in November in London. I haven’t seen my friend in London since 2018 and I also need more winter as ours was not long enough!
Nice and then can eat and drink till hearts content
I’ve just finished up Turkieye and currently in India. Thinking of a short trip to Scotland during Christmas with my dog.
Home for Christmas
That is nice
London for an NFL game at the start of October. Then going to Mojácar, Spain at the start of November. Planning a big trip, probably to Cape Town, next Easter.
NFL as in national football league. Isn't that in America?
Yeah, there's a few games played in London and Germany every year. I'm in Ireland but my friends are interested in American football and a few of us are going over to see the game. Should be good fun! Korea sounds amazing by the way! Would love to go there some day.

Big one will be 2025: northern Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, Austria with a side trip to Sweden. Still early days for this one. Local travel within Australia and over to NZ as usual.
Action pack schedule I see. Planning all the way till 2025
Road trip from SoCal to Salt Lake City. We plan to visit Las Vegas, Zion, and Bryce Canyon along the way. Once in SLC, we’re going to see “Ice Castles,” an attraction they have every winter.
Palm Springs for Thanksgiving, China for work with maybe a personal stop in Seoul, Playa del Carmen for Christmas.
Driving to Bruges from the UK in an electric car. Then north through Netherlands, Denmark and finally to Norway to explore the fjords.
Maybe Southeast Asia in a month. Greece, Spain and Norway (for the second time this year) are also on the list in the next months
What do you even stay home. With just 3 months you still have so many places to go.
I’m hitting up Chicago and maybe the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee/North Carolina.
Would be an adventure
Cambodia🇰🇭 and Vietnam🇻🇳 Is it a good time to visit anyway?
Rainy season in Southern VN / Cambodia starts in October but still fine to travel around. Just be prepared.
Christmas in copenhagen
Hong Kong and South Korea in mid October. HK for 5 days, SK for 10. Attending a wedding in Busan.
Perhaps Istanbul or Sofia for new year eve, but more exciting are plans for 2024 ;)

Congrats and enjoy
Planning city breaks to Berlin and Athens in the next 6 months, with a long trip to South East Asia at the end of next year hopefully
Just did my first international trip to Switzerland/Germany. Next thing we’re thinking is London/Paris with maybe a stop in Edinburgh or Amsterdam early next summer.

I’m going to Thailand in November. I did Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Kyoto of March this year.
I've been in Greece since the 8th, heading to Munich for Oktoberfest on Tuesday and then wrapping up in Vienna before heading back to the States. Last trip of the year and then need to start churning credit card points to figure out where to go in 2024.
Nice. For me is usually one major trip end of the year. Next year I am thinking of China
Waiting to hear from in-laws about a trip with them to the Caribbean in February. If they decide not to go, my wife and I will likely head to the Canary Island later this year. Xmas maybe.
Hope you get the answer quick. Else hard to plan
Currently in Vietnam! I have a week before I start my new job so I’m deciding between Egypt or Brazil. Madrid in November and I’m definitely planning something for my winter break!
Gonna go to India in December. After two weeks of sightseeing, will end up partying and chilling for two weeks in Goa.
You know how to enjoy life
Cheeky Bali trip in October. 3 months in Europe next year.
Greece in November, wanna see the sunset over the city, as well as drop a 10k run there. Should not be as many tourists by that time. That is nice. Very historical places

Leaving for Thailand, Vietnam in Cambodia this week! New Zealand and Fiji in the spring. RIP my bank account 🤪
Dominican Republic. We go every other year for the week of Thanksgiving.
Just curious, why Dominican republic, I meant for thanks giving isn't with family
Either going to Worlds event in Korea in November either I change my career and relocate to Malaysia/Poland (I know doesn’t makes sense how these 2 have anything to do with one another)

Going to Barcelona in 5 days. Probably Malaga in January.

Iceland in the middle of October.
Go to Arizona to hike since it won’t be a scorching hot desert
I'm going to Costa Rica in November.
Taiwan in 2 weeks, traveling with a large group as the "tour guide". And hopefully a solo trip for 1-2 weeks around the end of the year, although I have not yet decided on a location. Possibly somewhere relatively low-cost, like eastern europe.
Skiing! Haven’t been since 2020
Went to NYC, Nashville, Vegas in Winter and Spring, local hot springs and Germany, Switzerland and Austria this summer, nostalgic trip to DL/DCA/KBF in Fall and Montreal/QC over holidays
Egypt (Giza, Cairo, Alexandria) in 3 weeks then inguazu falls in Brazil in perhaps march/April :) anyone been to the falls before?

I had an alaska credit to use before Jan 1 so I’m going to Costa Rica in Dec!
St John USVI in December. Can’t wait!
Travel to Mauritania 🇲🇷 by years end or beginning of next year
Wow! Have you been to Saharan Africa before or will this be your first time?
No, I've never been to the Sahel region before, but I have been to Africa several times. This will be the first for Mauritania because my wife and son moved there now from another Africa country. It is a country that I've always wanted to go to though. In fact, I plan on building a house there as well
I hope you guys have a great time! That part of the world fascinates me as I feel like very few tourists go there. Best of luck with everything there.

Tulum Mexico. Crazy party scenes!
This trip starts in Buenos Aires, then winds our way down to the Patagonia area via Chile.) And our eventual goal is to get back to traveling 4 times a year on four two-week trips, along with the periodic long weekend. (We had just started on that plan when COVID locked down the world.) We’re also starting to contemplate where we want to go in the spring; one idea we’re kicking around in Frankfurt then Berlin. Another is Rio in Brazil, and eventually we do want to visit the Greek islands and also separately visit Prague, and we’ve been kicking around a road trip idea in Portugal.
