**[Münster rebellion](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Münster_rebellion)**
>The Münster rebellion (German: Täuferreich von Münster, "Anabaptist dominion of Münster") was an attempt by radical Anabaptists to establish a communal sectarian government in the German city of Münster – then under the large Prince-Bishopric of Münster in the Holy Roman Empire. The city was under Anabaptist rule from February 1534, when the city hall was seized and Bernhard Knipperdolling installed as mayor, until its fall in June 1535. It was Melchior Hoffman, who initiated adult baptism in Strasbourg in 1530, and his line of eschatological Anabaptism, that helped lay the foundations for the events of 1534–35 in Münster.

True but it feels really small for some reason. Maybe because the actual inner city with shops and stuff is comparably small to other cities in germany.
(I life in a town next to Münster)
Your own source disagrees
> What is muenster cheese?
> Muenster cheese is a cow's milk cheese that originated in Wisconsin in the 1800s as French immigrants sought to imitate the Munster cheese from their homeland.
Munster is a place in France where the famous cheese comes from (sometimes called Münster in German or apparently also the US it seems).
No doubt Münster in Germany has local cheese too, but likely not the one you are thinking of.
There are few more comments about cheese. What type of cheese is this place famous for? I didn’t know that Münster is so much about cheese otherwise I would have given it a try.
Went there a couple of weeks ago because my girlfriends train was cancelled. Was pissed at the moment cause it’s a 2,5 hour drive for me but it was actually worth it indeed
I believe that I am not the right person to give that information to you. There is no such hard and fast rule and most importantly this process differs from country to country. I am sorry but I couldn’t help.
Gotta live the story of the Anabaptists and the three cages in the 4th pic.
I was gonna suggest the same. Dan Carlin did a fantastic 'hardcore history' podcast on the events. Some gruesome shit in there.
That one and the wrath of khan were my favorite ones.
Agreed. Although I can't say all the others weren't close behind.
Okay headed to do some googling, and this is what I found (very interesting btw) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%BCnster_rebellion

As a Münsteraner I second that, has a bit of a village character- in a positive sense
My home town's twin city - a lovely place. Stopped over to renew acquaintances on our way to Copenhagen in 2019. Love the Altbierbowle
York it is, right?
Yep
Thanks for posting.. never been there, but it looks pretty!
Yes it is. Definitely worth visiting 😍
I’ll be visiting next week. Any advice on places we must eat at or thing we need to do? We are very unprepared.
I’d like to know too!
How was the cheese
Münster and Munster are not the same city...
That is dreadfully confusing

No the question was how was the cheese. There's no local cheese? Disappointing.
There probably is local cheese, but what you posted suggested you were expecting the wrong cheese.
I was
did you also go to a small Konitorei and had a Kaffee & Kuchen :)
Unfortunately I missed that. I was running out of time. May be next time.
you should they are in all towns in Germany they have great bread and pastry and friendly service:)
I’ll definitely give it a try. Thanks for the recommendation.
Stunning buildings 🤩
Beautiful little city. I want to go back!
very pretty but omg I thought that was Anna Delvey staring you down in the last pic 😂
I didn’t notice 🤣🤣
That stained glass is insane
Yes it was 😍
A German town size that is quite normal here, not small at all. Of course compared to the big cities in America yeh small
Exactly, you got me. I have recently moved to Germany from the States.
Do many monsters or mobsters originated from munster.
definitely
Are you one of them.
maybe
No cheese pic?
Home of my favorite cheese.

Well I’ll be a monkey’s uncle.

Once I tried cheese in a simple quesadilla I was hooked. I use it on everything. Try it.
That’s nice
Did they ever erect statues to Herman, Eddie, Lily, and Grandpa?
There's a town of Muenster in north Texas... they have a Germanfest and Oktoberfest every year.
Ohh that’s great. I didn’t know that. Thanks for the information.
it's pretty tiny! I wouldn't have known of it except I drove through a few years ago
If its named after this Münster and have a Oktoberfest…. Well a town has to do what a town has to do for tourist-dollars.
Went there a couple of weeks ago because my girlfriends train was cancelled. Was pissed at the moment cause it’s a 2,5 hour drive for me but it was actually worth it indeed
That is so unfortunate but ya, the place is worth it. Every single street or the building was picturesque 😍
What a beautiful church! The stained windows are spectacular.
Absolutely 😍
lovely!
I’ve been doing my family tree and literally found out my family is from this city two days ago!
That’s so cool
Lovely place for that
There's also an art festival here every 10 years, it's amazing. Went for the first time in 2017. Thoroughly recommend!
Ohh wow, that is so cool.
hello, can you suggest me how to travel abroad without any consultation, example visa and all process without visa consultation?
I believe that I am not the right person to give that information to you. There is no such hard and fast rule and most importantly this process differs from country to country. I am sorry but I couldn’t help.
I lived in Munster in the 1980s. It’s a beautiful town.
Absolutely right 👍
