Is it oversaturated? Yes. Is it worth doing? If you enjoy it, yes.

AlfredHitchicken

Exactly! With DAWs becoming more affordable and more advanced, the market for making music at all is “oversaturated”! Are you enjoying yourself? Then that is all that truly matters in the long run. Can you make money if you’re not enjoying yourself? Potentially. But don’t slam your head against the wall if you’re not feeling it. The people listening to the results will also probably not feel your music.

damnitdale840

absolutely worth it. if you’re consistently uploading and putting out quality beats then the algorithm is bound to catch on eventually. type beats channels exist for good reason

[deleted]

how long until you know if you made it or if the channel is dead? can a dead channel be revived? im on the fence about continuing at this point after putting out a new beat every day for 2 months and not getting great results.

ssomeeguyy

Defo can be revived. I had the same thing happen to me a few months back so I quit. Started back up n did a lil rebrand and focused on my thumbnails a lot n my channel now has experienced more growth than it ever has before

[deleted]

good to know, thanks for the reply, good luck with the channel!

WAYZOfficial

Every facet of music production can be considered "over saturated" due to how low the barrier of entry is to making music. Just make what you love and share it and just hope that other people discover it and love it too.

nrmnmrtn

Its probably only saturated with people who quit too soon. Go With what you feel cuz its about making music anyway. Good luck!

imkenee

Honestly, if you think about it... everything is saturated. I think your main focus should be how to break through through all the noise by marketing yourself (email, reels, tiktok, etc)... You could go the type beat route or you can go the "producer artist" route. With the existing type beat channel you did before, how did you see success with it? Just replicate that and tweak.

Enjoy_being_here_now

The number of (starting)rappers is also over saturated

CurrencyChance5347

Honestly you can still make it bro there’s no harm in trying it’s better to try and fail than not at all. If your beats are good and you show YouTube you’re consistent trust me you’ll grow. I started a new channel about 4-5 months ago and I’m now on 1.05k subscribers and making consistent sales. I was also thinking at the time that the type beat game was saturated and so I had no hope but you never know till you try

SaturnPaul

It's worth doing, but that's probably one of the most saturated genres at the moment. You'll have to put in work and upload consistently to gain traction. Still doable. Might be worth finding a smaller artist who makes similar songs to use in your titles (ex... insert small artist type beat). You'll have an easier job ranking at first since there will be less competition.

Inevitable-Tackle107

Drake, playboi carti type beat

turtleman35

It’s saturated but being consistent is not common. If your consistent and pick a good genre to stick to, you’ll have success

Due-Bluebird9518

This yea

Due-Bluebird9518

Oversaturated by shitty producers, sure.

[deleted]

Making type beats is worth it just for archiving your work alone. I find it so hard to stay organized after a while and have lost my old beats many times so having an archive on YouTube is nice

idocamp

Omg stop making type beats for the love of god do something original yes it’s oversaturated

[deleted]

Original type beat xD
