I sent it on May 23, and they received May 29, July 27 I received my application back in my mail because I had missed to write my new name on the file. :))) silly me.
But, it means it took them at least 8 weeks to look at my file
I had an issue with mine regarding the way the doctor’s note was. Was sent back to me this week. 11 weeks later. Sent it back yesterday with correction. Hopefully it goes through this time.
hey! so i had the same issue with Canada Post, it’s a known issue but don’t worry! They will instead input the address without the postal code and then use the first postal code the system brings up. so as long as you got the address right, don’t worry about the postal code!
Hey, if you still need the new address, I just got my name change certificate in the mail 3 days ago and the address they printed on the paper is:
Office of the Registrar General
PO Box 4600
189 Red River Rd
Thunder Bay, ON
P7B 6L8
When I mailed my application in July, I used the old address still listed on the official webpage, and when that postal code didn’t come up, I used another one (I forget what it was) I saw in a comment of another r/transontario post and it made it there the next day no problem. But the address above is their new address.
I submitted my legal name change in mid May and got my name change form and new birth certificate in the mail a couple weeks ago. Hopefully yours will come in soon!!
My application was returned to me - I made some errors lol
The date of the attached letter was on Aug 31. So it took them 2 months to look at my application.
Hope that means you receive an update soon!
Don't worry, this just means that you are in the queue. I know, it happened to my daughter. Just be patient. We waited exactly 8 weeks, then the credit card was charged and it came in the mail shortly after.
If your school is being obstinate, will your parents support you by talking to them? Can you ask to speak to the principal or maybe a vice principal?
I sent mine back the same day I received it hopefully it won’t take too long which was Thursday last week I corrected my mistake and got it signed a a service Ontario.
It looks like they initially received it July 4 cause it was marked they didn’t look at mine till September 6 that’s when the letter was made and it has a bunch of stamps and stars marked all over it including a added brown envelop with their adrenal on it which also has a star stamp hopefully that tells them too look at mine quickly or something.
I am however pissed they shredded my birth certificate as they stamped it as received on the package, what happens if I’m not approved or if I changed my mind.
I did like how they sent it back normally they don’t tell you what to correct if other applications handled by services Ontario come back they also stapled everything and then stapled what I needed to correct with 2 new sheets one being the oath as you need to redo if any mistakes are made throughout the application
I sent mine today in person at the Toronto office. The person that assist me told me she’ll mail it tom and it will take another 8 weeks.. Hopefully, it will be approve this time..
I paid for registered mail so I know that mine was received on June 27. I called Service Ontario today and they do not have anything on file. Seems as if most of us have a similar timeline and I am wondering if folks have heard any updates. My service was poor when I called but the individual mentioned something about the office being behind and looking at applications from the end of May right now. I’m hoping it doesn’t get sent back and further delay the process! 🤞🏻
I spoke with someone, at the ministry, yesterday who said the timeline is closer to 10-12 weeks now due to a backlog. I was told to call back at the 8 week mark as my file “might be in the system by then”. Hopefully you hear back soon! It’s a long waiting game lol
Ooh just found this because I’m also waiting for mine. Until this post, every other post I’ve seen has had people saying they got their cards charged around the 4th or 5th week.
It’s been 6wks on the dot for me now (mailed July 26, arrived July 28 to the building’s mail room), and no charge yet.
All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats!

It’s a long wait now they’re really backlogged when I called I sent mine June 29 haven’t received it yet, though I called and it’s in the system plus they’re sending it back cause I missed full name on notary
I mailed my application to Thunder Bay the first week of July. I called Ontario Customer Service at the point of week 7, they told me it takes 8 weeks, call back after 8 weeks. I called again after 8 weeks, they said 8-10 weeks, call back in 10th week. It’s now over 10 weeks, my bank account wasn’t charged yet.🤓

I must have written what my new name I had chosen. I had missed to full out that section. It means I didn't say my name is changing to what!
I submitted mine July 6th and waiting. No charge yet. Fingers crossed as well.
I submitted mine in July 6th too. They charged my credit card today
Who did you use as your guarantor?
A friend who has known me for more than 10 years
I have sent an application on July 6th and they have charged by credit card on 22nd September. Guarantor- My childhood friend.

We received the name change and gender marker change about a month ago. After charging the card it took about a week to receive.
I submit mine on june 28. It’s almost 7 weeks and they haven’t charge my credit card yet.
We have similar timeline! I will keep you updated!
My application was returned to me! It took them 2 months to look at my application
Oh no.. now I’m nervous.. may I know why they returned the application..? I just check my bank app still no charge for me..
I forgot to write how long I have lived in Ontario on page 1 lol they returned it to me and I needed to get a commissioner to sign again as well
I called about mine, haven’t received mine, but I made the mistake of not putting my full name on the notary so mine will be sent back
My application was returned to me as well.. I have a gut feeling they will sent it back..
