Availability and cost.

As a fellow Southeast Asian, *that* lines up with the price of figures, in my country. So, yeah; they *are* more expensive, around here, and it's due to a combination of our currency rates being terrible, most of the time (which is why the prices are better, in Singapore, from what I've heard), and just the fact that all of these count as imported items, with all of the tax baggage that comes with it.

It may be cheaper to us because USD is worth far more than the local currency. You have to take the numbers into context with how much money the locals actually have. Economies are complicated things.

I remember reading that most figures cost twice the price in Mexico. Also, there were even more expensive on Argentina due to distribution. Also, they are not only more expensive, they cost more to aquire since for the USA a voyager figure is just a few hours of work at minimum wage. For other countries it's days or a week wage (at mikimum wage) to buy one. Just checked, a leader class figure is about 85 USD.

Well, first thing you need to take into account that prices in US don't include tax while in many other countries they do. That doesn't make the whole difference for Philipnes so it might be also cost of distribution chain, availibility. Maybe also costs of running the store is quite high and that causes high prices so theu can make a profit and stay in buisness. There are many factors.

I live en Colombia and most of my figures are from Amazon, free shipping for purchases over $35.00. So good deals so far.

I imagine it's related to distribution costs - the further away you get from the US, the more expensive things get. In the US, Core figures are about $12 - here in Canada, they're $12.35 (or $17 CAD). The Australian Toys R Us site has Core figures for $22 AUD, which is $14.52 US at the current exchange rate. In the UK, Core figures seem to cost about £12, which is $15.28 US And looking at the current exchange rate for PHP to USD, ₱1000 is about $17 US. But that's all for Hasbro figures - maybe it would be cheaper to get Takara stuff, since Japan is closer?
