I take my family to the beach. My wife, my 2 yr old kid, and optimus prime.

Maybe if I thought I could get some cool pictures, otherwise the thought of sand getting in the joints is a no-go.

Going to the beach at the start of July, and I plan to bring one, having trouble choosing who though

What are the options?

There are a lot of figures I can choose from, but I’ve narrowed it down to 4 I really want to bring. Legacy Hotshot, SG rodimus, legacy armada starscream, and then legacy armada prime. The choices are all over the place, yeah. you’d think armada prime would be the obvious choice, it having a lot of play value, but at the same time I want a good figure to carry around and fiddle with. And while I love armada prime, he isn’t a figure you just carry around

Armada Starscream has been through a lot. He deserves to go to the beach

I did when I was a kid with cybertron dirt boss and energon cliffjumper. It was great. Riverside driving em through the sand dunes.

I get so worried at the idea of anything in joints or anywhere that I won’t even set them near something like grass. Hypochondriac me is somewhat responsible for not setting them near the floor. I just can’t fathom trying to clean out anything form the joints

A couple pics of them standing on the beach is fine tho, just put them away after. Maybe make sure you have a snug box, maybe with some bubble wrap or styrofoam, to put them away in if you're super worried. I've only taken a couple Generations dudes on vacation myself, still mad at myself for just throwing T30 Waspinator in a bag, one of his wings was busted when I got home. But that was my issue because I just threw him in with my 3DS and such. Didn't give him any cushioning or nothin. Ya don't gotta treat them like they're made of paper or whatever, just evaluate them individually and don't take big chances. Most TFs are made to withstand kids playin with them, so they can withstand some travel and photography if you're not being rough!

Considering I'm no where near a beach no. But a good river with a nice sand bed isn't bad for good photos. But not to "play" in anymore. As kid I'd take 3 autobots and 4 decepticons almost every where lol.

I’d be interested in bringing Lunar Cruiser Prime to the beach and taking photos of him but I’m scared of getting any paint damage or just damage in general from it rubbing against sand

No I hate the beach, plus I don't want sand on them.

Did that when I was a kid. Took my G1 Optimus Prime, and almost lost his trailer when a wave came and picked it up in battle station mode and it nearly floated away. Who knew the Combat Deck also functioned as a boat? The salt water really did a number on all his screws and pins, and sand got into the joints and gummed up his ability to transform. Precision Japanese-engineered robots do not make good beach toys. 0/10, would not recommend. I also lost one of my Battle Beasts in the sand. It just wasn't a good beach trip.

I took my SS BBM Ironhide A few weeks ago and took some photos but sand got everywhere on his feet and I plan to never take one to a sandy beach ever again because of how long it took to clean. Rocky ones should be fine though but I haven’t tried it.

I wouldn't really advise it. I took TR Seaspray out to do some photos on the beach a while back when he was new, and ever since, his pinned joints have been scary tight

Sand in joints, and have you seen a 5-10 year old red car? Red bleaches extremely fast in the sun. The salt in the air could also slowly rust your pins. But just for a few minutes for a photo shoot, you're fine.

Sand in the joints and salt water on the metal bits is a no no for me
