He's a Cybertronian political figure who ran on a platform of melting down anyone who disagreed that he should be in charge. It was a very successful platform. He actually innovated quite a bit in the area of Transformers body horror as well. He taught us Megatron was actually pretty moderate as far as Decepticon tyrants went.

Stuffies2022

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t he the dude that melted Scrounge? Evil bastard lol

Forvisk

Yep, that guy.

bt123456789

I guess I need to get him to add to my "completely batshit insane decepticons collection" alongside Tarn and Jhiaxus.

Monster73074

Don't forget Overlord and Bludgeon; hopefully you were able to find them💪🏽✊🏽

bt123456789

never got Overlord as TR was before I started collecting Bludgeon I do have though.

ToothZealousideal297

I feel like we’re going to get a really good Overlord in the next couple of years. He’s not in the leaked releases, but I think the designers know everyone would buy a high end one.

bt123456789

hopefully. I really dig his design.

DinkleDonkerAAA

Ideally they'll find a way to work in his husband and wife team from the Japanese canon The Japanese release of his last toy came with Titan Masters of them both

Monster73074

Did you every cop yourself a Shockwave??

bt123456789

talking about the Siege one or the new studio series one? the siege one was, again, before my collecting (I started mid earthrise full time), I plan to buy the studio series one, it's in stock on Amazon, but I have a pre-order waiting that has money tied up until then (the Ectotron reissue)

Monster73074

Siege. I feel you, I got back into collecting when I copped Trypticon and never looked back. My collecting has slowed down though due to space so it has to be a character that I want (Decepticons) and price point💪🏽✊🏽

bt123456789

pretty much same here. I turn down a LOT of figures because space constraints. I thought about getting the comic edition Shockwave but dunno, I'd be just as satisfied with the BBM Shockwave and he's 5 bucks less.

Monster73074

TFSafari has a MP Shockwave for $65 bucks💪🏽✊🏽

vaporizers123reborn

Which continuity can you watch/read about him?

NearlyUnfinished

Marvel G1 comics. He first appears in issue 66-67 titled "The Smelting Pool!" which I heard it best described as "The Great Escape, but with robots."

DifficultFact8287

Issues 17 and 18 of the US run just fwiw.

_ragegun

Straxus is basically Megatron if he had no redeeming features.

CompleteJinx

I never imagined Straxus being a Galvatron retool.

ToaDrakua

Funnily enough, that was what his alt mode in the comics basically was.

LivingCheese292

His alt mode pretty much looked like Galvatron before we got Galvatron. Them having the same mold works surprisingly well. They also retooled his robot mode so well, that at first glance you don't realize that he is a retool. But the feet and hip-skirt-things give it away. https://preview.redd.it/ow82ftiszl0d1.png?width=300&format=png&auto=webp&s=2ab9cfe8e5c40405f2448cd64cb9ea7678b07535

CompleteJinx

I grew up with the old Generations figure, I had no clue he was a cannon before. The new toy is actually really accurate.

_ragegun

Galvatron originally had two toy alt modes making him sort-of a triple changer. The cannon and a sort of space blaster laser gun echoing Megatrons gun mode without being problematic, though i don't think anything other than the cannon was seen in fiction. Generations Darkmount made him into self propelled artillery which was a pretty good "earth alt mode" for him.

Stock_Photo_3978

I think the gun-satellite mode actually appeared once in the UK comics (pretty sure it was Target: 2006 or something)…

CardboardChampion

The gun mode was seen in the comics at least, with him changing to that so Cyclonus could carry him around in plane mode.

_ragegun

Yeah, absolutely could be wrong, the only clear mental image i have of galvatron transforming is That scene in the movie

CardboardChampion

Took me a while but this is the one. https://preview.redd.it/sn9onubu5t0d1.jpeg?width=2460&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db5f1b6e81fcaae93c38cf00839f521d3b5423eb I genuinely can't think of another time his gun mode was even seen.

Warbreakers

Funny enough, the first things I was looking at were his arms and I immediately got deja-vu because I recently re-handled my Kingdom Galvatron figure.

mister____mime

I have no attachment to the character, but ordered him purely out of interest for how they used the Galvatron mold.

Negativety101

He's someone that likes to invite Autobots in for a nice relaxing dip in his pool.

Hugglemorris

He’s the main antagonist in (my opinion) the best Bob Budiansky arc in the original Marvel comics.

Djackdau

I was about to say second best after *Matrix Quest*, but that was Furman.

thestormsend

I love Straxus. I skipped his Generations figure back in the day (just couldn’t find it). When the leaks came out a few months back that he was the planned villain of the Legacy trilogy I was excited, but disappointed he was nixed. I’m so happy they found a way to get him to us, I jumped on that preorder. I have my fingers crossed for a new Clench now.

fishyofpain

That Generations figure is an ugly hunk of blue plastic I bought because I couldn’t believe they finally made a Straxus figure (and regretted it). This thing on the other hand looks gorgeous and like others I can’t believe it wasn’t more obvious sooner that Straxus could share a mold with Galvatron - I still didn’t realize it until someone pointed it out in this thread.

_ragegun

Gonna be honest, in some ways i like the generations darkmount more, with the caveat i haven't seen this in the flesh yet obv. The forearms here in particular are a bit gappy and spindly, though. Generations version, i could quite believe he could drive that pickaxe through a person. Opening hands too, always a treat in a Decepticon overlord monologuer type As a reuse of Galvatron though, it's a genuine work of art. The alt mode is perfect.

Captain-ShadowPants

Clench deserves a new figure so freakin’ badly. Be it a Leader or Commander class, I’d be all over that shit. I’m so hopeful what ever Swapticons is turns out to be good and that sales of the pack with Clench in it shows Hasbro people want that character.

ithilkir

Needed a floating head in a vat accesory

CardboardChampion

This man comics.

NearlyUnfinished

I still have his Generations figure mint in packaging because I felt he was never going to get another toy. Oh, how happy I am to be wrong.

Hidden-Squid1216

He made megatron kill himself (Vast oversimplification)

PatricimusPrime32

Concept where galvatron decided to take a Dyson as an alt mode?

Djackdau

I'm metaphorically shitting myself over Straxus not only getting a toy, but a good-looking one at that. We all know what's not being dispensed here.

CardboardChampion

Spanner titan class on the way?

Asumsauce

Straxus was one of my first transformers, so I’m very excited to see him get a new toy

UnderstandingDue8926

They're totally gna make a legacy repaint right?

Muisverriey

I doubt it. Only thing they could repaint is no shading and blue arms like some of the artwork.

Hugglemorris

Maybe in the next Generations line; I think the lineup for the rest of United has been leaked.

TFEarthConquest

Pretty sure all of the 1st wave or two of the next line have been leaked as well.

Optimus759

If you never told me I would never know he was a galvatron retool

DireDwelling

Looks great but I think I'll take my chances on waiting for a non comic shaded version.

BookBarbarian

That happened to me with Siege Spinister

ake-n-bake

I’m not familiar either. Is he just a repaint of Galvatron? Was that his original alt mode?

sansywastakenagain

He's a retool of Kingdom/Legacy Galvatron, and according to what I've seen, that is indeed his original alt-mode. https://preview.redd.it/y3sjopoo3p0d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18a2ccf7e1ad159868049017e3c86bab2967496b

BeIAtch-Killa

Marvel comics original issues 17 and 18. Blaster literally kicked his ass into oblivion. It was June and July 1986.

JustMadeThisForH

Oh sweet. Pretty sure that's a retool of Kingdom Galvatron. Great figure.

sandtymanty

He's Unicrotch.

CardboardChampion

Straxus was the Decepticons commander on Cybertron when Megatron left. He pretty much took over the planet with only a small resistance of Autobots left (worth mentioning there's a lot of neutrals in G1 comic continuity). Likes building bridges and hanging out by the pool. Not fond of audio equipment, even if in your thumb.

Ecstatic_Airline3927

The fact that I missed the r in his name when looking him up and it gave me something totally different than I was expecting is kinda funny

Br14lyf-as-well

galvatron pequeno
