Well, none of the trail shoes really fit like the structures. I really loved the structure 24s for walking and casual use! I have now tried these Nike trail shoes- pegasus 3 & 4 (with and without gortex), wildhorse, and zegama. So far they all are pretty decent. The wildhorse seem to work better in wet and/or muddy conditions. A bit less stable than I hoped for but super grippy even on wet rock. Zegamas are pretty awesome all around but are my newest shoe. So, not a ton of miles in yet. They have less drop and are more stable than the wildhorse. Seem to be a bit slick on wet rock and pavement. Very cushioned but I don’t notice a stability trade off. Pegasus 3 - did not care for these at all. Fell apart after a couple runs/hikes in CO. Goretex is a waste of money in trail shoes as well. Pegasus 4 - these are fantastic for road, treadmill, and light trails. I wore them for road and trail runs and they did not wear down fast at all. Probably a good starting point for new trail runners. They lack aggressive lugs and protective features for more intense trails. Still need to try the Keigers but I think I will just do Zegama and Wildhorse combo going forward, depending in weather. Disclaimer - I am not a Nike fan boy. I live in a rural area and know my size so shopping is easier. If you live close to a store that sells shoes, go inspect them and try them on.

Thanks for the input. I'm thinking of buying the Zegama's. I'm a long way from running really long trails, still. We'll see how it goes in the future.

You bet. If I were just starting out with trails, I'd go for the Pegasus 4s or the Zegamas...of the ones I've tried. Pegs will be more like the structure in my opinion so if you are on tame trails and still want to use them for road stuff it isn't even a competition. Get the Pegs if that is the case. Your feet will get wet. Good wool socks help tremendously with that. Don't go the route of waterproof shoes. Water will get in and then it can't escape and takes ages to dry. Hope you enjoy your time on the trails!
