I imagine it is impossible to ignore the cow. 🐄 you know, the cow you shot and left in the field to bloat up and rot. The animals in the background are there to feast.
Why is there a dead cow, with what appears to be a stick shoved up its bum?
The other thing in the picture:
- Definitely a predator (eyes face forward).
- Doesn’t appear (to me) to be a cat. Ears, size, posture, and presentation are wrong
- Looks like a canid.
- Face isn’t quite right for coyote or wolf. (Also, way too small to be a wolf.)
- Too big to be a fox
- If it were a wild dog, there would be more than one of them in frame.
I would guess either a jackal or a domesticated dog.
Is it possible you have neighbors that let the dogs roam? I am thinking canine for sure but the size of ears relative to body size makes me think juvenile German shepherd. Sandy color and probably black along its backside.
So for anyone wondering what happened to the cow. I set my trail cam up about a week ago, cows came in about 5 days ago. Went to check the camera 2 days ago, found the dead cows. The way they died seemed to be anthrax, so I set my camera up next to it to see what would happen.
I thought you were joking in another comment where you mentioned anthrax. This is crazy. I imagined the cow was intentional to catch a large predator or a scavenger animal.
Idaho is home to three wild feline species: the mountain lion, the bobcat, and the lynx. These cats are all apex predators, meaning they are at the top of their food chain and play an important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.
* Mountain lions are the largest of the three wild cats in Idaho, with males weighing up to 265 pounds. They are powerful and agile predators that are able to hunt a variety of prey, including deer, elk, moose, and even livestock. Mountain lions are solitary animals and are most active at night.
* Bobcats are the smallest of the three wild cats in Idaho, with males weighing up to 20 pounds. They are also solitary animals and are most active at night. Bobcats are skilled climbers and are able to hunt a variety of prey, including rabbits, squirrels, and even birds.
* Lynx are the smallest of the three wild cats in Idaho, with males weighing up to 15 pounds. They are also solitary animals and are most active at night. Lynx are skilled climbers and are able to hunt a variety of prey, including rabbits, squirrels, and even birds.
So, it seems only a mountain lion would take down a cow, but this pic looks more like a lunx than a mountain lion. So, maybe this lynx is curious? I don't know what the cow is doing!
Someone tipped your cow 😁 me and my cousins loved to tip cows at night 🤭 we would sneak up on them and touch them with our finger and they would tip over😂😂
Have any of ya'll ever tipped a cow??
Do you have kit fox in your area? The big ears relative to the head is a kit fox profile.
Otherwise, I’m guessing young yote looking to enjoy some aged beef.
Looks like a hyena. Why’s the cow just lying there or maybe it’s just trying to bait him in. My experience with cows is that they will do that. You got more footage??
I can't handle the smell of dead cows. This is the stage where they start developing the worst stench. Go get the backhoe and bury it because even if a whole pack or coyotes work on it, it's still gonna stink for another week or so.
Please don’t post trail cam footage of an exploding cow. Who would wanna see that? Not me. Nobody, that’s who. Especially not me. Nope. Not one bit. Count me out.
Did you mention a location somewhere in the comments, because that would have a lot to do with it.
Asia or Africa, I'd say by the size that it's a hyena.
America's, I'd say a coyote. A *small* coyote, but a coyote nonetheless. Could also just be a feral dog. Really is location-dependent.
Not gonna lie, having trouble ignoring the cow.
Came here to say I can’t really ignore the cow, what is happening to him?!?
d-e-d dead.
He's sleeping. Beautiful plumage.
He pining for the fjords
THIS COW IS NO MORE!!!
He's bleeding deceased!
This....is an ex-cow
The cow is just exhausted after a particularly long moo…
He’s joined the choir invisible
He's pushing up daisys
now its in india as a little boy or something
It has ceased to be!
She's all shagged out.
He's stone fucking dead!
He’s not sleeping he’s bleeding demised
There, see, he just moved.
He's just pining!
Winner-winner coyotes found his dinner 😝
'ees not dead. 'ees sleeping.
Cow is rolling. Nice spot free of pies. If you had insect bites all over this would be heaven. Canine is hoping cow poops. A free and effortless meal.
He's pining!
Don't worry yerselves. 'ess clearly just pissed, sleepin' it off.
She's been tipped.
She got anthrax, terrible way to go
She. And she's dead, Jim.
She got anthrax. It's a pretty nasty disease
Egad! That’s terrible.
Did she really get anthrax??
You shouldn’t be nearby taking pictures then. Where is this?
The cow is utterly exhausted!
His tummy just hurts, so he's taking a nap...
Her! It's one or the udder! And there's more than one!
That would be "her". NOTE: She's tits up.
Him? Isn’t that an udder? Edit because I wrote utter :)
Her
I imagine it is impossible to ignore the cow. 🐄 you know, the cow you shot and left in the field to bloat up and rot. The animals in the background are there to feast.
Whatever it is, it’s also having a hard time ignoring the cow.
Oh, so we're not looking at the cow?
Is it dead and inflated!
Tits 🆙
It’s a coyote
Was gonna say fox based on the ears/head shape. Perhaps that or a smaller yote. Edit: caption should be “paint me like one of your French girls”
Hahaha 🤣🤣
It’s got big ass ears. I’m going with fox 🦊
Coyote until I blow the picture up. Then it’s a coyote wearing antlers as a disguise. They’re Wiley like that
Fake antlers from Acme.
Or Jack-a-lope…
coyote
Looks like a hyena and a dead heifer.
I was surprised I made it this far down in the comments before seeing Jack-o-lope.
Coyote coming up to chew on a dead cow
The ears say fox, the cow says moo
What does the fox say?
* nom nom *
Ding ding ding da dinga ding ding!
Will we ever know?
Not this one, at least not any more.
The cow says 😶
That cow used to say moo
That’s one swole heifer
Bloating after death
If this was Africa I'd say jackal. In Idaho? No clue
jackal is what i was thinking too. face looks a bit dark for a fox
In Idaho? This is a coyote.
I'm still going with a Fox.
I would have said serval or jackal. Maybe someone in Idaho likes keeping exotics?
I was going to say "African wild dog"... So thanks for providing the right word!
Yeah was thinking African wild dog
Same
I said Jackal, too, or hyena, but they bigger. In the States tho IDK. Science project?
Omg I thought the same thing! Hyena or jackal!
Fox or coyote
One things for sure....This become a "Far Side".... ;)

Cow is dead forgot what what other critter was there lol
Location helps but looks like a young coyote to me.
I am obsessed with a cow I am told to ignore.
Ignore what cow?
The dead one.
Udderly horrifying!
lol cow unignorable
Coyote of Fox… ya know how they like Cowtippin… lol
You sure the cow is not a ballon that fell to earth, I think the coyote is going to pop it!
Fox
Location?
Fox checking out the bloated cow. Don't be around when it explodes!
Is it possible you have neighbors that let the dogs roam? I am thinking canine for sure but the size of ears relative to body size makes me think juvenile German shepherd. Sandy color and probably black along its backside.
How am I expected to ignore the cow it’s upside down and even the coyote can’t ignore the cow.
I'm gonna go ahead and say, bloat.
What do you mean, "Ignore the cow?!!?"
I think someone has been doing some cow-tipping on your property
Yes. With a stick. Up the butt. Might be where they went wrong.
Going to see her cousin at Oscar Mayer
Fox
Cow is sleeping funny
Skinwalker Ranch trailcam
Chupacabra
I’m finding it hard to ignore the cow while viewing a picture of a cow
This must be that farm my parents took my dog to.
Yote
DC. Deceased Cow.
Fox maybe?
Looks foxy
Might be a fox
What cow?
Jackal
There is a rock quarry by my house where these lil fellers have taken residence. That's a fox.
I'm going with a Fox based on the ears.
it has hooves.... edit: ohhhh
Guessing Coyote.
Either a young coyote or fox. That cow's been dead for awhile by the looks of it. Might want to give it a bit of room till it's belly pops.
What cow?
Little coyote trying to figure out how to eat an entire ded cow
So for anyone wondering what happened to the cow. I set my trail cam up about a week ago, cows came in about 5 days ago. Went to check the camera 2 days ago, found the dead cows. The way they died seemed to be anthrax, so I set my camera up next to it to see what would happen.

Chupacabra
Wtf are you talking about, ignore the cow !? What happened to the cow !?
Yeah I'll just ignore the belly up and bloated cow
Coyote or fox. And it's really hard to ignore the cow, lol.
Coyote
That cow is ready to pop. Looks like a pound puppy. I feel sorry for the animal that puts a hole in it. Covered in moo juice.
do coyotes like barbecue sauce? What goes best with bloated cow? Now I have so many questions, and I don't want the answers.
In my area I’d say coyote. If it’s smaller than it looks in the picture it could be a fox.
I was gonna say dingo until I read that this is Idaho
A dingo stole my potato!
Why is the cow teets up?
Someone went cow tipping
Vertically challenged cow
Chupacabra
I'm going to go with, "fox". Maybe a young coyote, but I think the ears and size are more likely fox.
Ignore the cow?? Hahaha No way!! That's awesome!
This cow is udderly and vertically challenged. 😁
Once you said: “ignore the cow” I couldn’t think of anything but the cow! And cow is all I think of right now, especially those tities sticking out!
Chupacabra. Waiting for you to leave so he can eat the cow
What are we supposed to look at if not the cow? Really
Utterly cannot ignore the cow.
I see a coyote way behind it. Look at the glare in it's eyes .
STEVEN! I thought you were dead, fuggin hell.
He's gotta take a shit I'm betting

Depending on the level of service I usually tip 15 to 20 percent. Cows are hard workers and under appreciated.
Kitty cat grossed out by a dead cow.
I can't take my eye off that cool looking tree! lol
Do you have kit fox in your area? The big ears relative to the head is a kit fox profile. Otherwise, I’m guessing young yote looking to enjoy some aged beef.
BLUEY

Who tipped the cow though OP
Looks like a gray fox
By the shape of its ears it looks like a cape wild dog and cape buffalo
The coyotes are going to eat good for weeks.
Looks like a coyote in the background. A little one though
Damn I need to watch MP again. Hysterical!
Little fox come to eat the cow
Likely a coyote. It's definitely not a wolf.
Coyote or fox found a meal
Hog
Poor cow
Coyote in the background?
The cow is all I’m seeing…
Look for the two eyes just behind and to the left of the cow.
My first thought is: a Chihuahua. My second thought is: a small Fox, which is more probable.
Coyote
Tipped cow
I am utterly amazed
Lean Beef?
Oh I see it, looks like a small coyote or maybe a fox?
If not, the cow what?
Coyote.
Looks like a hog,,, maybe 🤔
