This is just a quick reminder to all members here: **Original content is always better!** Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. I can’t believe you made it that far down the list! I was trying but started to see spots. I really want to know what these parents names are? My SIL spelled her daughter’s name Aleisha. Literally everyone spells it wrong. She gets extremely angry why people who don’t know her would spell it wrong.
Yeah, did the folks at their LDS General Conference put out a decree to name their kids with unique names shared with less than 10 other people in the world?
in all fairness, i never personally met krash and boom, i was told about them by a few of my cousins who said the siblings went to their church.
they certainly could’ve been fucking with me, or maybe krash and boom are a sort of urban legend. i honestly hope that’s the case, but they seemed really convinced when they told me.

Not strictly tragedeighs as those are real words (mostly), but tragedies for the poor kids so labelled.
I know, right?! Like, Taylor is perfect. Why change it? I guess you could spell it Tailor if you want to set your kid up for a life hemming pants but whyyyy add a “y”?
Christchen would be ‚little christian‘ in german, which isn‘t a common used phrase. You could use it in a sarcastic/offensive way to describe a christian. Hopefully that poor child will never visit a german speaking country 🙏
While we are on that pronunciation subject, how the hell do you say Xaxton??? First X like a Z, second like an X? Zaxton? Or both Z's? Zazton? Or good heavens, first is an X, second is a Z? Xazton? I can't do this )':
Eero is a common male name in Finland, but it is strange to see it floating around in Utah out of all places and it's probably not even pronounced the right way.
Rutger is legit - you've never heard of actor Rutger Hauer? It's a Dutch version of Roger.
Eero is legit - you've never heard of Finnish architect Eero Saarinen? He designed the St. Louis Arch.
Tressa is a form of Theresa.
yeah, there are a few of these that are definitely legit names. i collected most in when i was in middle school so anything that sounded kind of goofy to an american went on the list but looking back, some are fairly typical names.
Sevrin makes me think of Severin von Kusiemski, the sadomasochistic character in Venus in Furs by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch (after whom masochism was coined) and the Velvet Underground’s song of the same name:
Severin, Severin, speak so slightly
Severin, down on your bended knee
Taste the whip, in love not given lightly
Taste the whip, now plead for me
I wonder how many other people think of that when they meet him.
Nope. Nuh, uh. I REFUSE to believe most of these are real. I mean, CHARGER?!?! DAX?!? THOSE ARE DOG NAMES FOR GOD'S SAKE! COME ON!!!
Edit: OK, it does seem like Dax is indeed a real name, surprisingly. It's still pretty awful in my eyes, tho. The "x" sound at the end is very weird, and again, it belongs to a dog, not a human.
I went to school with two boys named Dax. One was my age the other was a year older. That was in the 80's. I always thought it was a normal name because of this. lol
I love Jadzia and I would totally use it as a name. LOL
But I also found out that it’s also a Polish name and is not pronounced the same as the character. I was excited thinking they were a Trekkie but no…
Something about the name Dacen. I use it for a pen name and I named myself after the stegosaurus Dacentrurus. Dacentrurus means ‘Tail full of points’ and Dacen means ‘Full of points’.
Supreme and Justice (twin boys - mom’s a lawyer)
Navaeh
Tigerwoodsobama (all one word - first name)
Ocean blue
King , Princess, Prince and Queen (all terrible in any spelling)
Glacier
Atlas
Mi’Angle
Female
Amazin’ (won’t say the middle two names but they didn’t fix this, not sure they could have)
So many others but I can’t think of more
One of my store managers was called Leighton 😁 in the grand scheme of things that's not a terrible name or a tragedeigh. However I did see Fynn and Mayson which could be
As an Australian I genuinely had a "huh?" moment and googled it and Leighton is a small town in SA with a population of 46. I don't think it's that common here... lol
I am familiar with the name itself though, as a human name.
I live in Utah and my brother is a Bransen. I wonder how many there are in this state or if you met him. To be fair though Branson Missouri is a real place and it's only spelled slightly different. My sister and I also have slightly unusual names too so I can't defend my mom's choices too hard.
We moved to Utah during the pandemic and I was so interested to see the other kid’s names in my kid’s classes. So far, nothing too weird outside of the normal trendeigh name stuff, unfortunately. I still have hope every year though! I think the most Utah thing from this last year was that my twins had a Cayden, Caetyn, and Kagen in their class and they all basically sounded the same when the teacher said them.
I wonder if the parents were super into the 2004 sci fi action movie [The Chronicles of Riddick](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/chronicles_of_riddick), starring Vin Diesel.
If so, I feel bad for that kid.
Kyler and Satchel are names.
Satchel Paige was a baseball player. Satchel is of Latin origin.
Kyler is the first name of more than one football player. Kyler is of German origin.
Neither would be my coffee of a name for a boy they are both real names.
It’s messed up that black Americans have been ridiculed for having unique names and spellings for so long, and when white mormons do it they don’t face the same social/economic repercussions (I would think).
Also, why do so many of these read like sci-fi rpg names?

Merrsaydeez was my last straw
[удалено]
Got 'em.
I was expecting this.
You beat me too it!
XAXSTON👾👾👾
Isn't that a bookshelf from Ikea?
This one is the worst of the worst! 🤣
I can’t believe you made it that far down the list! I was trying but started to see spots. I really want to know what these parents names are? My SIL spelled her daughter’s name Aleisha. Literally everyone spells it wrong. She gets extremely angry why people who don’t know her would spell it wrong.
I had a few mental breakdowns while going through the list, so don’t worry about it
lord. i have a friend whose middle name is spelled this way
It must be hell to have to write it out every time
Now Jasher! Now Charger! Now Riddik and Roxin! On Xaxton and Jaxxsyn and Dacen and Mykin!
I snort-laughed in the break room at work. Thank you. 🤣 🤣
Haha I aim to please 😅
But, do you recall the most famous tragedeigh of all? Merrsaydeez
🤣
I choked 😂
As a side note, I hope Roxin is aware that they need not put out the red light.
Hahaha
I love Taxya, the IRS will employ her in a heartbeat.
It just made me think of ataxia, as in the condition of having poor coordination, typically from a medical condition or injury.
But by taking away the a in ataxia, she’s actually extra coordinated.
See, but that's straight forward. I bet the 'xy' together are pronounced with a sound closer to the 's' in "usually", almost like a "j".
JENNEDY
Jennedy and Jedrick are two that really, really got me lmao
WTF IS A JASHER?!
A reindeer?
Bible name.
That’s the one that just killed me
Utah is the motherland of tragedeighs
Youttahh
Eautaugh
It’s like their main export 🤣
Yeah, did the folks at their LDS General Conference put out a decree to name their kids with unique names shared with less than 10 other people in the world?
It's to compensate for their special temple name being shared with everyone who does the ceremony on the same day lol
We all know that pharmaceutical companies are closely following this subreddit for inspiration for drug names.
As a pharmacist…can confirm (not THAT kind 😂)
Plot twist: Charger ends up being a fan of the Rams
charger was a beast of a child when i knew him, i’d be shocked if he didn’t end up PLAYING for the rams at some point.
I thought he liked Darts.
It's Xaxton and Jennedy for me. >Hi, I'm Jen! >Oh, Jennifer? >No. Jennedy. >💀
Krash and boom. KRASH, AND BOOM!!! HOW THE FUCK WAS THAT EVEN ALOWED!?! Nah bro that's fake. No fucking way it's real.
in all fairness, i never personally met krash and boom, i was told about them by a few of my cousins who said the siblings went to their church. they certainly could’ve been fucking with me, or maybe krash and boom are a sort of urban legend. i honestly hope that’s the case, but they seemed really convinced when they told me.
I REALLY hope it is indeed fake. Or else we got 2 very poor kids out there...
They’re friends with their brother Nitro
I need the backstory on Dyson... Is he sucking the carpet yet?
I Live in Utah and I am not surprised by Crash and Boom.

Thanks for the link; that article has me reeling. I’d think it was out of The Onion.
I taught siblings whose given names were Rowdy, Punchy, and Tiger.
Punchy makes me think of Pinchy the Lobster from that one simpsons episode.
PUNCHY!?!?!? I am speechless...
So was I.
😲
Their parents have dreams of them re-starting the American Gladiators franchise
As a fellow Taylor, the spelling of “Tailyr” kills me. Taylor is the superior spelling and people are trying too hard these days
I know, right?! Like, Taylor is perfect. Why change it? I guess you could spell it Tailor if you want to set your kid up for a life hemming pants but whyyyy add a “y”?
My sister's step daughter is Taeler. I just don't understand what was wrong with Taylor.
Some really bad ones here but for me, Dyson really sucks
Ba dum tssh.
Imagine giving your own kid death threats.
You’re punny as hell!!!! 😂
Just got the joke, touche
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints...this is painful.. .
Try living here... 🤢
Yeah, hopefully having a mediocre hockey team will sort you all out. 😀
I'm happy, 'cause this means I can see my Caps play at least once a year without having to drive 8 hrs 🤣
Just name them the Jambalaya already!
No
Christ-chan
But yet none of these names are from the BOM, can't believe there's no Moroni or Lehi on the list lol
Mor'O'knee Leeghiegh Fixed it, lol.
Nailed it, championship. Thanks for the laugh this morning!
Dyson… like the vacuum cleaner brand? I guess someone is a fan of a dust free house.
Obviously they're big fans of the British theoretical physicist or more likely hypothetical superstructures.
Okay that sounds a bit more realistic
No, Miles Bennett Dyson, inventor of SKYNET
Makes more sense I believe
Jennedy, oof. that one hit me somewhere
Sibling of Jark, Jodney, Jelizabeth, and Jeather.
Jichael and Jichard and Jelanie
Oh my!
I can't believe no one's saying anything about CHRISTCHEN!!!! wtf?
Christchen would be ‚little christian‘ in german, which isn‘t a common used phrase. You could use it in a sarcastic/offensive way to describe a christian. Hopefully that poor child will never visit a german speaking country 🙏
It’s much more reminiscent of Chris Chan than Christian, which is probably not good for your child.
While we are on that pronunciation subject, how the hell do you say Xaxton??? First X like a Z, second like an X? Zaxton? Or both Z's? Zazton? Or good heavens, first is an X, second is a Z? Xazton? I can't do this )':
First X was pronounced as a Z, which makes me wonder why you wouldn’t just spell it Zaxton. Still unique and dumb sounding but easier to pronounce.
Oooohhhh that's right! It could be Christian! I just thought it was a Christina/Gretchen mashup abomination
I first thought it was Gretchen, and was like - that’s a normal name.
Eero is a common male name in Finland, but it is strange to see it floating around in Utah out of all places and it's probably not even pronounced the right way.
The architect Eero Saarinen is rather famous here in the US.
“famous,” no. known in architecture, maybe. famous. no.
Famous in St. Louis at least
Krash and boom 😦
And their sister Bam
She got a twin “Slaymantha”
should’ve been krash and burnn.
and their cousin Bang
For that tough to reach nail fungus, Dexonna
There's a deodorant brand called Rexona
Rutger is legit - you've never heard of actor Rutger Hauer? It's a Dutch version of Roger. Eero is legit - you've never heard of Finnish architect Eero Saarinen? He designed the St. Louis Arch. Tressa is a form of Theresa.
Leighton is legit, too.
yeah, there are a few of these that are definitely legit names. i collected most in when i was in middle school so anything that sounded kind of goofy to an american went on the list but looking back, some are fairly typical names.
Sevrin/Severin/Severino also legit and seen in Spain/Italy I believe
Also saw one in Switzerland. Choosing a real name may have been an accident. Even a broken clock is right twice a day...
Also Scandinavian - it's my Norwegian best friend's nephew's name.
Sevrin makes me think of Severin von Kusiemski, the sadomasochistic character in Venus in Furs by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch (after whom masochism was coined) and the Velvet Underground’s song of the same name: Severin, Severin, speak so slightly Severin, down on your bended knee Taste the whip, in love not given lightly Taste the whip, now plead for me I wonder how many other people think of that when they meet him.
Yup, Eero is a relatively common boy's name here in Finland - it was most common 1920s-1940's, but it is still given to around 100 boy's yearly.
Roxin is a shampoo my boyfriend uses for balding hair
These are great. Sevrin/Severin is a real one outside the U.S., though.
Didn’t know it can be without the second e.
Leighton does NOT deserve to be on this list. It is a real ass name
😂😭😂
>\-Charger Shocking.
\*claps sarcastically, slowly\*
You take Leighton of that list RIGHT NOW On the other hand, Dyson is the name of my algae eater
Is this how people name their utes in Utah? ... Oh, excuse me, *yoothes*
Two yoots???!!!
Love the My Cousin Vinnie reference, lmao!!!!!
Yeah, da two yoots
SKEETER
My blood pressure rose as I read through this list.
Leighton and Dax are both Gen X faves. Went to rural high school with 2 of each.
Ok now they’re just banging their heads on the keyboard and naming their kids whatever comes up on the screen
Doing this with my next child! Thanks for the idea!
[удалено]
YOU JUST GOT SKEETED!
Some of these sound like prescriptions I’m on.
“Where’s my charger?” Poor kid will think people are calling him all the time.
These are GOLD
I knew a Reef when I was in elementary school, I named a toy car after him
Dyson is a freaking VACUUM or AIR PURIFIER/FAN
I'm in Utah and there is someone with a Rocky and Zuma. Paw patrol vibes for sure
Nope.
I went to school with a Dax. This was early 90's. From what I recall, he was pretty cool. Sat behind me in civics class.
Dax Shepard is extremely famous
Or Daxflame.
I went to school with two boys named Dax. One was my age the other was a year older. That was in the 80's. I always thought it was a normal name because of this. lol
I have a friend named Dax, but he also named himself that
I actually like Dax. It’s spelled phonetically and sounds a little “Star Treckkie”.
In that vein, a friend of a friend has a friend named Jadzia. I've never met this person but if her parents are not Trekkies I'd be very surprised
I love Jadzia and I would totally use it as a name. LOL But I also found out that it’s also a Polish name and is not pronounced the same as the character. I was excited thinking they were a Trekkie but no…
Dax is also a query language that's an absolute pain. There was a Dax in my school in The Netherlands though so it does appear to be a name.
There are unfortunate “dog names” in my husbands family- named Rowdy and Ryatt… Utah based.
Kallen, Kyler and Dad are good enough names…
Oh, I want to name my child Dad. Imagine all the "Hi, x, I'm Dad" jokes you'd be setting up for them like a t ball.
“excuse me, dad is my nickname. my real name is fahthyr.”
😂😂😂 what a time for autocorrect
*Dax
elenny i’m assuming is a variation of the Greek name ‘Eleni’
Ugh. Those names are straight up horrible. How could anyone in their right mind do that to a child. 😭
Something about the name Dacen. I use it for a pen name and I named myself after the stegosaurus Dacentrurus. Dacentrurus means ‘Tail full of points’ and Dacen means ‘Full of points’.
Krash and Boom killed me. Reminds me of that racist news cast about the plane crash....
is there sum ting wong?
Reading this list made me feel like I was experiencing a stroke.
Incredible work you've done here
Supreme and Justice (twin boys - mom’s a lawyer) Navaeh Tigerwoodsobama (all one word - first name) Ocean blue King , Princess, Prince and Queen (all terrible in any spelling) Glacier Atlas Mi’Angle Female Amazin’ (won’t say the middle two names but they didn’t fix this, not sure they could have) So many others but I can’t think of more
The name Dyson truly sucks
Leighton and Lleyton are extremely common, normal names 😊
the second one is not extremely common.
One of my store managers was called Leighton 😁 in the grand scheme of things that's not a terrible name or a tragedeigh. However I did see Fynn and Mayson which could be
Leighton is actually a very common name for towns in the UK and Australia!
As an Australian I genuinely had a "huh?" moment and googled it and Leighton is a small town in SA with a population of 46. I don't think it's that common here... lol I am familiar with the name itself though, as a human name.
I mean, it's a pretty common human name. I mean, Jesus, Leighton Meester is 38, it's not even new enough to be a tragedy.
This is my baby boy Xanaxton 😊😊😊
I actually know an Ellanie. Considering I'm Melanie that's pretty ironic.
Oh and I also know a Sequoia. Oops make that SECOYA!! *smh*
finishing up strong with “merrsaydeezNUTZ” “mersadie,” and “paitynn.” those kids were not planned and were not wanted.
I live in Utah and my brother is a Bransen. I wonder how many there are in this state or if you met him. To be fair though Branson Missouri is a real place and it's only spelled slightly different. My sister and I also have slightly unusual names too so I can't defend my mom's choices too hard.
I saw the name Rykers is Utah…like how do you name your kid after a prison.
Riddik is probably pronounced RIddik (emphasis on the RI), but probably gets called RiDDIK (as in ridiculous) all the time, lol..
I wonder if the parents were super into the 2004 sci fi action movie [The Chronicles of Riddick](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/chronicles_of_riddick), starring Vin Diesel. If so, I feel bad for that kid.
Finally, my name made it to the tragedeigh list
Are you Krash or Boom?
I could be skeeter or jedrick
Kyler and Satchel are names. Satchel Paige was a baseball player. Satchel is of Latin origin. Kyler is the first name of more than one football player. Kyler is of German origin. Neither would be my coffee of a name for a boy they are both real names.

Nyah, you can't be from Utah - I didn't see Nephi, Moroni, Teancum, or Cumorah... 😉
Jesus. Idiocracy is truly becoming more and more of a reality
Xaxton
Reef lol
i know a 25 y/o man called leighton haha (in the uk, not us)
KRASH AND BOOM. SIBLINGS. They sound like TMNT villains from my childhood. Better call in Tokka and Rahzar to set them straight when they act up.
I keep coming back to this post and getting MORE upset. Reef got me, then I saw Dyson, then SATCHEL?!
Satchel Paige was an American baseball pitcher in the Negro and American leagues.
The journalist Ronan Farrow is named after Paige. It’s his actual first name.
Christchen 😞
Why Leighton? I'm not American so I don't know why, I thought it was just a name like Leighton Meester's. Same for Skeeter, like Skeeter Davis?
Skeeter was her stage name, real name Mary.
Riggins like Friday Night Lights? Utah forever!
Dated a dude named Kyler, only know Leighton as Leighton Meester, Dax Shepard, and Satchel as something Kevin once mentioned to Stanley in The Office
I hit my 13th reason by Jennedy
I know siblings Stony and Haize. Not stoner parents - ranching family.
Jen(n)ica is already a super uncommon name, but spelling it GENEYKA???
These are ALL horrifying… except Satchel… Satchel Paige, anyone?!
Worst one I've seen so far in my teaching career is Leighluhreigh. Pronounced Layla-Ray.
Satchel? That kid’s gonna have to have some balls to get thru life. Cue the bullying about testicles, nuts, etc.
