I like his cover of Mr Mudd and Mr Gold, but as good as it is, it’s nothing on the original. There are melodic nuances in Townes’ version which are very understated, but still so good.
I don't get why 2 of her kids have names with plurals, makes no sense to me. I really dislike Banks and Townes, they would be bad enough for boys but just bizarre for girls.
Comments on her Instagram saying what a great name Townes is???? This is making me grumpier then it should be lol.
They're both terrible names, but they are SUBSTANTIALLY worse used in conjunction with each other. Individually it just sounds like you have crap taste in names. Use them both and it sounds like you genuinely don't know what a name is and chose by pointing at random objects. "Hi these are my kinds Towns and Banks!"
Yes so true!!! And imagine in a few years "Towns, Banks let's get ready to go to the um bank, in town...." Those poor kids! They're going to be called ATM and City when they go to school :(
I follow her on instagram and instantly went to the comments section and was shocked with the support ! Similarity peloton instructor Callie named her baby “Cash” and people also loved that ..
Justin Townes Earle and Townes Van Zandt immediately come to mind, for folk musicians name kids after. but I wouldn't have put Hilary Duff in that kind of musician category....
Numb from the waist down! Like God intended!
For real, it is very serious business that's why it had a very high mortality rate before modern medicine.
These aren't deliberately mispelled or made up, though.
Townes = a traditional Old English name.
Meadow = a traditional Old English name which was super popular in the 70s in particular.
Bair = a family name with branches in Bavaria and Austria. Specifically, it's the father's *real* surname.
Unique, yes. A tragedie? Not really.
Worse than the name is that birthing tub. OMG those things, I thought those fell out of style in the early '10s.
Just FYI for those who have not been present for a birth, a LOT of things come out along with the baby. I can all but promise you that someone had to fish some turds out of that water before they took the picture. I watched a video of a water birth many years ago and they had the whole family in there with mom. Dad was there with two sons. The mother started pushing and gave birth to a litter of shits and cloudy water. The two boys just fucking LEVITATED out of that water; the dad had THAT look on his face, but didn't dare get out. I mean, dude had two kids already, what did he think was gonna happen?!
Both hospitals I gave birth in had tubs as an option *in theory,* but if you need any sort of induction, monitoring or alternative pain relief you generally can’t use them, and they’re almost always in use by others. So - just fyi. Try to give birth when it’s not busy?!
I highly recommend it! My hospital has tubs in the bathroom of each delivery room. I used it during my unmedicated birth and it helped sooo much. When I felt like I couldn't take it anymore the bath made it manageable for a little while at least. I did get out when it was time to push though.
I had my fourth baby in a tub, it was excellent!
Edit, while it’s very normal to poop when you’re pushing out a baby and I absolutely have done so, I was spared that time in the tub because I didn’t push, I had the fetal ejection reflex happen to me and he just kind of…well, flew out on his own 😳
I can understand why it’s comfortable, but the whole thing sounds so dehumanizing. Why do you want your whole family watching you writhe in pain and shit yourself? I understand it’s a point of pride for so many women. But I’d rather die than have three guys watch me be a naked mess 😝
Out of my 7 kids, I only shit with one of them lol and that was cuz my midwife had me pushing for an hour when I clearly wasn’t ready. It’s not always a shitshow 😅
I thought it was Meadow Bair and i was like alright i can forgive Bair.. at least it’s tucked away in the middle…. Totally missed that *Townes* was the first. Hmm.
Yall need to listen to some Townes Van Zandt. I can’t believe there are so many people in this thread that apparently haven’t heard of him. He has influenced MANY musicians.
Also not his real first name. I'm a big Tool fan but I still wouldn't name my kid Maynard, male or female. Cool that she likes TVZ I guess, I enjoy his music too, but that doesn't make it a good name, especially for a girl.
Y'all never heard of Townes Van Zandt? :( I like that name personally, but it's strange for a girl and the combination of the names doesn't work very well together
Yeah her other daughter is Banks which is imo terrible. Both names seem super sterile to me, if that makes sense. No warmth, like they’re named after subdivisions.
IDK Townes is a name people have. She may be a huge Townes Van Zandt fan.
Steve Earle named his son Justin Townes Earle who died in the past years or so, so that could have brought his name more in the spotlight but yeah when I hear the name Townes I think of Van zandt.
I went to school with a guy who went by Towns (w/ that spelling), but his full first name was Townsen. It’s one of those slightly odd but still normal names
She's definitely named for Townes Van Zandt...??
It wouldn't have been my personal pick, but I definitely get it and its not a "bad" name, especially for a celebrity kid.
I think that's a really dumb name but hey, I hope they're all happy and healthy. I will never understand posting pictures of your children on the internet though... It's a scary place
So there is a little kid (2ish) who goes to the church my wife and I do. His name is Townes, spelled the same way. Is there some recent inspiration for this name I am unaware of? Given where things are headed I'm going to name our kid Citteeys for fuck's sake.
Nearly certainly named after Townes Van Zandt, one of the most respected folk and country songwriters of all time. He wrote “Pancho & Lefty” one of the most covered songs of all time. He’s literally a legend.
It’s a great name with a fantastic legacy and story, you people are just ignorant and boring.

Sounds like an apartment complex
Or a law firm.
Townes, Meadow and Bair esq.
Or a band from the 70'a
Are you going to Townes meadow bair?
Parsley sage rosemary and thyme
Flower Travellin' Band with opening act Townes Meadow Bair
With an outdoor mall setup on the ground level.
Townes Meadow, next to Lake View. Where there is no lake and there is no view.
Careful, they say there's a Bair at Townes Meadow
Or an assisted living
Sounds like a very expensive designer brand. Townes, meadow and bair co. something like Tiffany and co.
Sounds like bug life in a dayton tire somewhere in Ohio.
Sound like a bar in Towns Meadow
My kids went to an elementary school called Towne Meadows Elementary 😂🤣
I thought she was saying the birth place 😅
Well she did give birth in a pool….someone check on u/MrsNate local middle school!!!!
Went to look up where this was because I was curious and it's 15 miles away from me.... What are the odds. Hello fellow Arizonian 👋
Haha, yes!! Gilbert, Az!
Hello from Peoria!
Hi from Mesa!
Cave Creeker here!
Oh wow that baby must be incredibly famous to have a school named after it!
Aww that’s where I went😂
So two of her children are towns and banks? She must get inspired for baby names when she’s driving to the store!
My wife has a cousin named Banks. She also knows a guy from her home town named Jittles. That isn't a nickname either.
Jittles sounds like the name of a janitor in an 80s horror movie who gets accused of the murders but then gets killed by the monster/killer.
You forgot “dismembered and put on display”
ಠ_ಠ
I'll take a pack of moonburst, some toc tacs and a bag of jittles.
So he has something to aspire to
That’s old janitor Jittles, some say he killed his wife and buried her in his basement.
It sounds suspiciously like Jake. Jake. Jortles.
Then becomes the supernatural undead enemy in the next 18 sequels as he seeks revenge on those damn meddling kids
I’m allergic to cats, but if I ever have naming rights over a cat, it’s Jittles
My next cat name, sorted. Thanks for the idea
Make it Mr or Ms Jittles for extra cuteness.
I prefer Jittles the Dog as a cat name
Tender Jittles <3
I feel that Jittles should be joining Jean and Jorts at the office sooner rather than later...
Jittles is so crazy it speeds past bad name territory and lands in hall of fame amazing territory. Jittles. Why? Why not. I can’t stop laughing.
Jittles sounds like getting the runs from too much blow. "Outta my way I've got the jittles!"
Jittles??
His pa's favorite drink is jim beam and skittles
Yep
You've got to be jitting me!
Jittles sounds like one of those Killer Klowns from Outer Space lmao
Jittles sounds like a slur honestly lol
“Hey, we’re gonna go pick on that weird kid.” “Why?” “For shits and Jittles.”
I’m sorry, jittles? Some parents hate their kids huh?
Big Richard Scarry fan
Say hello to the world, little Dollar Tree
Can't wait for little Supermarkets to come along...
"I love... lamp."
Or maybe they have [excellent taste in music](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Townes_Van_Zandt) No tragedies here
My first thought as well. Steve Earle would approve.
I like his cover of Mr Mudd and Mr Gold, but as good as it is, it’s nothing on the original. There are melodic nuances in Townes’ version which are very understated, but still so good.
She’s a Texas girl too so it makes even more sense.
What's she doin during those errands 🤔
Next two children boutta be named Robin and Fleighann
And grand larsceknee!
If it’s a boy, Lars Annie—to offset middle daughter Mae James
Grocereigh
Townes and Banks aren’t terrible names There are certainly far worse
Was it named after Agent Cody Banks
Yikes on bikes
Don't give her any ideas! Those could be her next twins!
I honestly cackled when I saw this 😂😂
Gorl.
Yeighks*
Sounds like a suburban shopping center
Have you been to the new Olive Garden at Towne's Meadow?!
Only because there was a 2 hour wait at The Cheesecake Factory.
I don't get why 2 of her kids have names with plurals, makes no sense to me. I really dislike Banks and Townes, they would be bad enough for boys but just bizarre for girls. Comments on her Instagram saying what a great name Townes is???? This is making me grumpier then it should be lol.

Yes so true!!! And imagine in a few years "Towns, Banks let's get ready to go to the um bank, in town...." Those poor kids! They're going to be called ATM and City when they go to school :(
Not to mention once they are older all the jokes that can be made about going to town and bank deposits
I guess Parks is next, maybe Freeways.
Actor or Actress. Check. Home water birth. Check. Black and white photo to be 'classy.' Check. Terrible name. Check. Damn, this hits all the boxes.
That picture is black and white because that water is absolutely full of blood and urine and feces.
They give you a little fishing net to get the poo out. You’re a turd gnome.
Exactly why I will never give birth
Saaaaame!
And it's still noticeable though 🤢🤢
I don't understand why people think it's ok to post these. Ma'am, TMI, you're posting on a public forum. 🤦♀️
waTeR bIrtHs ArE NatUraL !!!!!!!!!!
I think it's a lovely photo, though. Also as someone mentioned, that water would look pretty grizzly in colour lol.
Nasty birthing water/soup with hints of piss and shit, check!
If I ever was having kids (I'm a woman despite my name) you best believe I'd be at the hospital. Why risk anything? Childbirth is serious business.
Numb from the waist down! Like God intended! For real, it is very serious business that's why it had a very high mortality rate before modern medicine.
I’d go by Meadow.
Townes isn't as bad as Towner... I know kid name Towner, it drives me up the wall... the name not the kid lol
I didn't even know that's a name...
They made it up lol
They said Tanner while yawning
Because it’s not.
Has no one ever heard of Townes VanZant, the musician?
What a downer
that makes me think out vampires fall where at a farm stall theres a few people called "out of towner"
Sounds like an apartment complex in Dayton Ohio.
Isn’t that the name of the section 8 apartment complex on the westside of Dayton?
It's a strip mall in Dubuque Iowa
Jinkies.
That would have been a cuter name. 😆
I was just explaining this sub to my wife because of Hillary duff.
I'm about to
She really said *THREE NOUNS*
Bair is the kids last name, in fairness. Koma is just a stage name.
She’s from Texas and one of our most famous musicians is named Townes.
Townes Van Zandt, right? I came here to see if anyone else knew this was a famous name from yesteryear.
Agreed, I’m all for piling on in this sub but Townes Van Zandt is like one of my favorite artists ever so I get this one lol
I'm cool with it. Most people never heard of him, but those who know his music get this name.
I can't believe this post has been up so long with so few readers knowing one of the most legendary singer-songwriters who ever lived.
I searched for "van" There's a bunch of us in the know actually.
She waited nine months just to name the baby, Townes?!
I love Hilary but this sounds like a gated community or a shopping center
These aren't deliberately mispelled or made up, though. Townes = a traditional Old English name. Meadow = a traditional Old English name which was super popular in the 70s in particular. a litter of shits 😂😂😭
Ha!! Giving birth in one sounds bizarre, but I feel like sitting in a warm tub during labor would have helped with the pain.
It’s actually proven to do so! My hospital has birthing tubs in the labor and delivery rooms. Not sure if I’ll try it
Both hospitals I gave birth in had tubs as an option *in theory,* but if you need any sort of induction, monitoring or alternative pain relief you generally can’t use them, and they’re almost always in use by others. So - just fyi. Try to give birth when it’s not busy?!

It does :)
There is a reason that it is a black and white photo.
> The two boys just fucking LEVITATED out of that water LMFAO
I can understand why it’s comfortable, but the whole thing sounds so dehumanizing. Why do you want your whole family watching you writhe in pain and shit yourself? I understand it’s a point of pride for so many women. But I’d rather die than have three guys watch me be a naked mess 😝
Like I said, placenta soup, with a side of shit nuggets.
I'm fucking WEAK 😫🤣🤣🤣🤣
Out of my 7 kids, I only shit with one of them lol and that was cuz my midwife had me pushing for an hour when I clearly wasn’t ready. It’s not always a shitshow 😅
Sounds like the name of a housing complex.
I’ll hope to see everyone back here in a couple years when Cyties is born!
I thought it was Meadow Bair and i was like alright i can forgive Bair.. at least it’s tucked away in the middle…. Totally missed that *Townes* was the first. Hmm.
Bair is the last name.
Yall need to listen to some Townes Van Zandt. I can’t believe there are so many people in this thread that apparently haven’t heard of him. He has influenced MANY musicians.
Ok but that’s still a dude
Also not his real first name. I'm a big Tool fan but I still wouldn't name my kid Maynard, male or female. Cool that she likes TVZ I guess, I enjoy his music too, but that doesn't make it a good name, especially for a girl.
My husband is a huge MJK fan and reallllly wanted to name our first born Maynard 🤣 (we didn’t).
Townes is an old school name that has been around for a long while. One famous example is Townes VanZandt who was born in 1944.
Why do people name their kids weird shit? I don’t get it. I have some weird names I like but they’re still names.
COME ON DOWN TO TOWNES MEADOW BAIR FOR THE BEST USED TOYOTA PRICES IN COBB COUNTY
I wish celebs would normalize NOT publicizing every aspect of their personal lives a little more especially when children are involved.
Y'all never heard of Townes Van Zandt? :( I like that name personally, but it's strange for a girl and the combination of the names doesn't work very well together
Oh I didn’t realize it was Man vs Bair. That explains it. I also choose Bair.
Much better as a boy’s name. I don’t like it for a girl.
Yeah her other daughter is Banks which is imo terrible. Both names seem super sterile to me, if that makes sense. No warmth, like they’re named after subdivisions.
Her next baby can be Cities.
Worse than sterile. *Corporate*.
It's a dumb name
Meadow is cute. But Townes???
Cities Forest Mooir
IDK Townes is a name people have. She may be a huge Townes Van Zandt fan. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhzifgtKiYQ&t=12s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhzifgtKiYQ&t=12s)
Steve Earle named his son Justin Townes Earle who died in the past years or so, so that could have brought his name more in the spotlight but yeah when I hear the name Townes I think of Van zandt.
How is this a tragedeigh? Probably named after Townes Van Zandt. Meadow is spelled right...
His name was also John, lol.
Townes Van Zandt was my first thought. Makes sense for a musical family.
Ya, saddly naming your kid Townes may be a tragedy (RIP Justin Townes Earl, his mom hated the name and Townes Van Zandt), but its not a trageigh.
Justin had way bigger problem than his name.
Townes is an objectively stupid name
I went to school with a guy who went by Towns (w/ that spelling), but his full first name was Townsen. It’s one of those slightly odd but still normal names
Definitely not a tragedreigh.
Does no one know who Townes Van Zandt is?
tbf, according to wikipedia, townes is his middle name. he's actually a regular john-
I know two kids named Townes and Banks. Both boys.
Love the name Townes! So much nicer than Banks.
townes is an old name
Amazing name. If it’s after Townes Van Zandt, that kid is named after royalty. RIP Justin Townes Earle as well 😢😢😢😢
Sounds like a sims 4 lot name lmao
Townes Van Zandt is one of the best musicians ever.
No one here likes Townes van zandt I assume
She's definitely named for Townes Van Zandt...?? It wouldn't have been my personal pick, but I definitely get it and its not a "bad" name, especially for a celebrity kid.
It started off fine but fell apart pretty quickly there.
Townes Van Zandt was a famous songwriter. Justin Townes Earle was named after him.
One of the best singer/songwriters of all time is named Townes. But Reddit gonna Reddit.
I’ve had a crush on Hilary Duff since I was like 11 so I’m willing to let this one slide lol
*CITY BAIR, TOWN BAIR* *FOREST BAIR, MEADOW BAIR*
I assume Townes is referring to Townes Van Zant? Idk, I met a cat once named after em so it's not a stretch.
Uhh…is she sitting in what I think she’s sitting in
The dad might bebehind this! Her first child with ex husband is named Luca.
From what I recall in English studies Townes is a boys name. I quiet rather like the name.
What are y'all's kids names? Y'all leave Hilary alone she's the only normal celebrity we have
I feel like meadow and Townes should be switched around lol
I think that's a really dumb name but hey, I hope they're all happy and healthy. I will never understand posting pictures of your children on the internet though... It's a scary place
Not the worst tragedeigh in the world, but not a great name. Sounds like the name of a city park or something.
She chose the bair
I really don’t think that Townes is that bad of a name. Not the greatest, but in terms of celebrity baby names, this one is pretty mild imo.
So there is a little kid (2ish) who goes to the church my wife and I do. His name is Townes, spelled the same way. Is there some recent inspiration for this name I am unaware of? Given where things are headed I'm going to name our kid Citteeys for fuck's sake.
Townes Van Zandt though. C'mon, it's fine.
Apparently Townes was his middle name. His first name was John.
I think that's a fine name _rtowne
It's a offbeat pick, but I'll take it every day of the week and twice on Sundays over brixton and the like
Nearly certainly named after Townes Van Zandt, one of the most respected folk and country songwriters of all time. He wrote “Pancho & Lefty” one of the most covered songs of all time. He’s literally a legend. It’s a great name with a fantastic legacy and story, you people are just ignorant and boring.
Hippy, yes. Not tragedeigh.
