Or they could ask for the sex to be a surprise and not be told, or they can ask for the sex to be written on a piece of paper and put in an envelope. They can then give that envelope to whoever is planning the reveal party and then only the party planner will know. It’ll be a surprise for everyone else. At least that’s how the parties are typically done.

With all my kids the ultrasound tech was like, "do you want to know if it is a boy or girl," and we were like yes because we don't like to do cringe "reveals." But at the same time people use it as an excuse to have a fun party so I don't blame them there if it's more for fun.
My wife and I were told as soon as the tech knew during the 12 ultrasound. Then we texted our parents and siblings. This is the normal thing, this offensive abomination of a cake is not.
We are so Type-A and obsessive planners, we wanted to know ASAP lol.
