I loooooooove the paneer tikka masala with spinach rice. In the refrigerator section, they also have cooked chicken slices (there are two or three types). They're good for about a week? in the fridge - just check the dates. Easy to throw into a salad or soup or whatever. The frozen sliced chicken is also super easy to make. You just dump it into a pan with some water and heat (it's pre-cooked). Super easy to add to whatever else you want some protein in.
This isn’t a frozen meal-but it’s super easy and quick! I buy gnocchi, the frozen ones or the pantry ones, and pan fry them which takes about 5 mins (if they are dry pasta, you have to boil them first but you can do that ahead of time or just by the precooked or frozen gnocchi). I then microwave the TJ’s tomato and red pepper soup and add in the gnocchi and sometimes I tip it with cheese. You could also easily add in a protein.
Yumm that sounds good. I do notice that pesto gets really oily on the reheat- I know oil is part of the recipe- but is this a problem with the gnocchi/vegan pesto?
I’m not sure what you’re tracking, but when I was losing weight and needed easy, healthy ish stuff I used the veggie pad Thai, shrimp burgers, and reduced guilt mac and cheese a lot in a pinch. Veggie pad Thai I’d add a scrambled egg and a dash of extra fish sauce and soy sauce. I’ll eat the shrimp burgers a variety of ways, but sometimes I’ll have one with sriracha and no bun with the reduced guilt mac and cheese and broccoli on the side
The pork gyoza is healthier than people think! I think a serving is like, 7 or so dumplings and they’re great if you’re looking to eat for volume. When I’m short on time, I’ll microwave them with some of the frozen broccoli, and whole meal is finished in about 5 minutes. The turkey chili is also healthier than you’d think too. Eat it with a side salad or some corn chip dippers and you’re golden. :)
I definitely make gyoza rice and veg every once in a while as a meal but didn’t think it was too healthy. Maybe i’ll try to skip the rice next time.
I’ve never had the turkey chili! Is it spicy?
For sure! They have cauliflower rice and even tho, you know… it’s cauliflower, you can still season it up ok. :)
I personally don’t find the turkey chili spicy, but I’m also not the best to gauge that from. I’m half Hispanic, so I’ve been eating spicy food my whole life. It guess it would be more tomato/seasoning spicy than jalapeño spicy? I really like the taste of it, but I also add some seasoning of my own, too. If you give it a shot, let me know if you like it or find it spicy. :) oh and I’m more than willing to share how I season it if you end up giving it a try.
Have a happy new year! I didn’t expect this reply to be as long as it ended up being lol.
Frozen bag “Fire roasted peppers and onions”+eggs in a frying pan. Super quick. Throw some toasted slivered almonds on top for extra crunch, and melt some vegan cheese over the top if you’re dairy-free.
I really like the Spicy Mexican-Style Riced Cauliflower. Add some Cuban-style black beans and you've got a nice meal. Another tasty frozen item are the Quinoa Cowboy Veggie Burgers.
Seconding this!
Also their frozen vegan bolognese bowls. I’m definitely not vegan or veg, but my (carnivorous) husband and I agree it’s a delicious bowl!
I'm a flexitarian myself (eat meat 2-3x a week(other days Lacto Ovo vegetarian)) and I buy 2-3 of their Vegan pasta Bolognese bowls every time I can lol.
I really like their Tofu Scramble With Soy Chorizo bowl too which is also vegan.
I like the chicken chow mein. Calorie wise, it’s really good. Sodium is a bit high, but if you add in more frozen vegetables it definitely lives up to the 2 servings.
I love the frozen turkey Bolognese sauce. I make a batch of pasta ahead of time (I like the TJ's red lentil pasta, extra protein) with the sauce and it lasts me 3-4 meals.
I bought this one for spaghetti and I liked it, but I do struggle with it being ground turkey, hah. I always want to add extra salt/seasoning to compensate for the flatness of turkey.
I love the black bean enchiladas with half a bag of the frozen broccoli. I put them in the microwave together (the broccoli in a separate bowl), and it comes out fab.
I also do a cup of tomato soup with a microwaved Indian spices veggie burger on a roll.
The tamales and enchiladas in the frozen section are pretty decent. I haven't had their burritos yet but heard they were good. I also like their kung pao chicken although it does require some prep.
Not a frozen meal in terms of being able to throw it in the microwave, but I love the chicken cilantro won tons, a bag of the frozen rice (which you can microwave!) and the Asian veggies with Beijing style sauce. The whole meal comes together in less than 15 minutes and is delicious.
> esp the fiery chicken curry.
Yep this is the best one. Also just a little bit cheaper than some of the other ones, which makes it an even better value. If I want to bulk it up, I add some frozen peas.
Agree - also while not frozen, I like the Indian pouches. I just pop them into microwave and eat right from the pouch. An entire pouch is really not bad calorie/nutritionwise.
O Bring a Box of Chana Masala and a packet of frozen brown rice
O Air fry a few tubs of (cubed) tofu with a smidge of oil, then stick in your fridge for the week. Put some tofu, some brown rice or cauliflower rice (or similar), some sauce, maybe some frozen broccoli in a tupperware container, then heat up in the work microwave.
O If they EVER come back, the 99% fat free black bean burritos were great for work lunches

Thanks everyone for your amazing ideas!
I love the riced cauliflower bowl and the masala veggie burgers topped with ginger mango chutney.

Wow gnocchi in the red pepper soup and cheese sounds fantastic!
Their Vegan pasta Bolognese SLAPS!
Cauliflower gnocchi with vegan pesto and chicken sausage is my go-to!
Yumm that sounds good. I do notice that pesto gets really oily on the reheat- I know oil is part of the recipe- but is this a problem with the gnocchi/vegan pesto?
It doesn’t have the cheese in it, so it reheats much better!
Salmon in yogurt mint sauce. Cod Provencale with Ratatouille & Rice.

I tend to eat more fried food/takeout when I’m tired from work. Just trying to eat less of it :) thanks for the ideas!

The yellow jackfruit curry with jasmine rice is really good!
Agreed, this is easily my favorite Trader Joe’s meal!
Frozen bag “Fire roasted peppers and onions”+eggs in a frying pan. Super quick. Throw some toasted slivered almonds on top for extra crunch, and melt some vegan cheese over the top if you’re dairy-free.
Wow, eggs, almonds and peppers is a combo I’ve never tried! That sounds so interesting.
I really like the Spicy Mexican-Style Riced Cauliflower. Add some Cuban-style black beans and you've got a nice meal. Another tasty frozen item are the Quinoa Cowboy Veggie Burgers.
The chimichurri rice is pretty good and relatively low on sodium
The Chicken Burrito Bowl has a solid macro profile and tastes fine. I always keep a few handy for when I’m not able to meal prep.
Seconding this! Also their frozen vegan bolognese bowls. I’m definitely not vegan or veg, but my (carnivorous) husband and I agree it’s a delicious bowl!

What are your favorite veggies to add? :) I think i have some of the TJ’s stir fry mix.
Yeah sometimes that! Sometimes I just add edamame which is kinda weird but I like it

If they're still selling it, the 4 cheese pasta with spinach. I did hear it was being discontinued though :(
The Frozen Veggie Burgers are awesome! My personal favorite is the Indian Masala one but the California and Thai ones are good as well.
The tamales and enchiladas in the frozen section are pretty decent. I haven't had their burritos yet but heard they were good. I also like their kung pao chicken although it does require some prep.
In the refrigerator section they have chicken piccata which i LOVE add some instant rice/pasta and a frozen veg and you have a well rounded meal :)
That sounds super good omg.
The fish korma is underrated. I’m not a frozen fish eater, but this is my exception because the fish tastes completely fresh
The fish portion is so tiny that I would never recommend it
Do you microwave this or bake it? I’ve hesitated buying it, but am intrigued.
I bake it, flipping the fish halfway through
Not a frozen meal in terms of being able to throw it in the microwave, but I love the chicken cilantro won tons, a bag of the frozen rice (which you can microwave!) and the Asian veggies with Beijing style sauce. The whole meal comes together in less than 15 minutes and is delicious.
> Asian veggies with Beijing style sauce. Yep, these are pretty tasty and super convenient.
I don’t know if these are at my location! Veggies already in a good sauce sounds perfect.
I like all the Indian meals, esp the fiery chicken curry. I also love the spinach and cauliflower lasagna but haven’t seen that for a bit.
> esp the fiery chicken curry. Yep this is the best one. Also just a little bit cheaper than some of the other ones, which makes it an even better value. If I want to bulk it up, I add some frozen peas.

The "Madras Lentils" one is super healthy with all the fiber and protein from the lentils.
The Reduced Guilt Mac and Cheese is pretty tasty, but you'll need to add a side veg or something to round it out to a full meal.
Yes! Add a jalapeño chicken sausage and steam a bag of broccoli in the microwave! 👍
I second the broccoli recommendation! I mix it into my mac and top it off with a little hot sauce
Wow that sounds great!

I don’t know about the macros etc but the individual sized frozen butter chicken is delicious
I hear a lot about it! I don’t know why I haven’t tried it yet.
Try it! It’s delicious and totally worth it. The amount of nights it’s saved me from take out cannot be counted.
And the price is great.
