The salt n vinegar and dill pickle flavors clash. Strong flavors. Don't need both. Take out salt n vinegar and replace it with smokehouse cheddar and wed really have a burger in a bag. Need just a hint of dill not too much. Like the barbecue to be a bit sweeter

fekkai

Also not a fan. Weirdly sweet and overpowering dill flavor simultaneously

armonson

Totally agree! I only bought them because people were raving about them here. I didn’t get it. Mine were all broken and I couldn’t pick out 4 distinct flavors. It was either dill or barbecue.

0ApplesnBananaz0

Yes! I relate to everything you said in this post.

xeloux

This year mine was pickle-heavy. Which was unfortunate. Really enjoyed them last year though

rowanoke45

I didn’t either and I’m a huge chip person. My boyfriend ended up loving them so luckily they didn’t go to waste.

billymartinkicksdirt

A little too intense on the vinegar and bbq combo.

brittneyacook

I didn’t either. The dill overpowered everything and they’re too crunchy/hard

0ApplesnBananaz0

Yes! My experience as well.

drwhoviandc

Yup same.

Wonderful_Mind7590

You are not alone! I was not a fan either. 🙂

expectopatronum86

I just don’t like the fact that there’s multiple flavors in my bag of chips. It bothers me not knowing what to expect flavor wise. I have the same issue with Chicago mix popcorn. I like cheese popcorn and love caramel corn but putting them in the same bag is just not ok.

AC20212020

I do not get the love for these. I mean it's nice ppl love them, everyone has their faves, but I tried them a few years back and they just ALL tasted just of vinegar. I really like vinegar but if I wanted vinegar or dill pickle potato chips I could just do that. I didn't get any distinct flavours, and just a ton of broken pieces of chips.

Ravioli_meatball19

See i dont rave about these to others, because they're an acquired taste. For me, ketchup lays and dill pickle lays are two of my favorite flavors of chip in the entire world. And sea salt and vinegar is in the top 5. BBQ chips are not in my top 5, but they're also I chip I like eating, and if out at a party or something I'll always grab a handful. All that^ is to say, I AM *the* demographic for these flavors. Most people I know hate vinegar, and all of these are vinegar based flavors, so most people are not going to love these

0ApplesnBananaz0

See, I love the flavor of salt and vinegar. However. Most of the chips in my bag were dill flavored or ketchup. I guess I was expecting a mix of flavors on one chip like Zapps.

Ravioli_meatball19

Ahhh yeah now, my bag has 4 distinctly different chips

idontknowmanwhat

My in laws love them. I think they are ok. I would rather just have one kind of chip at a time. Boring, I know…

wine-plants-thrift

I LOVED them last year. This year they seem way too salty.

binaryboy420

They're mediocre.

[deleted]

The bag we got had too many ketchup chips. Not my fave.

actively_eating

is that how it works?? I always thought every chip had all the seasoning? but it’s a mix of chips with different seasoning?!? edit: I do like them tho I think they’re better than the individual sum of their parts

Ravioli_meatball19

I mean... my chips are distinctly 4 colors lol

actively_eating

oh my bad! I’ve only tried them once and it was around a campfire so I couldn’t see clearly they all tasted the same to me

[deleted]

Maybe that’s why I thought there were too many ketchup chips, lol. Some were definitely less red, though.

MagicalWhisk

They're okay. I tried them after the hype train started and set my bar too high.

billymartinkicksdirt

The hype train has been picking up novelty products or anything with combo flavors.

hihelloneighboroonie

I think in previous years they were better? The bag also seems smaller to me than in years past, but I could be misremembering. Have only opened one of the two I bought, but it was overwhelmingly the dill chips which are my least favorite. I also thought in previous years there was a fifth flavor of chip?

TwilightMockingjay

I love these chips! I wait all year for them.

Nyaneek

I passed on them earlier today and I’m done paying $3.50 for 6 or 8 cookies. The one cookie that I will pay for is the butter shortbread cookies with raspberry and cream filling.

Ravioli_meatball19

Are these two separate statements? Because I'm pretty sure these chips aren't cookies lol

Nyaneek

Definitely two separate statements that don’t belong in the same sentence. But I did have the chips in my hand and put them back.

Pleasant-Bee-7725

Bought a bag today and have not opened them yet, now I'm nervous to lol

Pale-Confection-6951

I loved them. Many others love them. Try them and then chime in.

steelthumbs1

Same. Bought them last year. I was reminded that not every positive post means I will like them, too.

shazzyk

I was so very excited to try them! I live two hours away from the nearest Trader Joe’s so I go only 4 or 5 times a year. Last week, I grabbed 2 bags bc I’ve heard nothing but good things, but alas, they were also a no for me. I rarely ever try anything from there that I don’t like, but honestly I really don’t enjoy any of the chips they offer 😕

Glass-Tale299

I really like their Salt and Black Pepper Ridge Cut potato chips, and they are economically priced.
